Ghirardelli semi-sweet chocolate chips are my absolute favorite. They have great flavor and texture in chocolate chip cookies and they melt really well if I'm making brownies or anything else that requires melted chocolate. 10 out of 10 I would recommend these chocolate chips for your baking needs.

I have been making chocolate chip cookies for literal decades and I'm glad I have come across this brand! They really do make a difference and up the quality of the cookies. Grab a handful when you open them and you'll see the difference between these and the less expensive brands.

I made Ghirardelli aware of this and they did not seem to care. Well, no longer will Ghirardelli be getting the large support from the plant-based community that they had been getting!! I am responding to the Sweepstakes entry. Ghirardelli Chocolate Semi-Sweet Chocolate Premium Baking Chips are great for baking. The Ghirardelli Chocolate brand is of great quality and very well known. I gave it a five star rating because of the above reasons.
I purchased these based on the listing on the website (specifically the ingredient list provided here). I was excited to find a quality dairy free chocolate chip (vegan), but unfortunately the listing here is inaccurate. Although the ingredient list here does not include it there is milk fat in the chips. Too bad I bought five bags but thought the information might be helpful to prevent others from trusting the listing.
I always purchase Guittard Semi-Sweet chocolate chips. Since Walmart does not offer that brand, I tried the Ghirardelli brand. They are nearly as good; too sweet and less chocolatey taste. Would love it if Walmart would offer Guittard!

They had a distinctly deep and roasted flavor for semi-sweets, and I think it's why friends and family would really enjoy chocolate desserts I made with them. And for both myself and friends, the fact that they were dairy-free was key. I'm not sure what sort of "improvement" they achieved when they changed a longstanding favorite chip by adding dairy out of the blue. I only realized the change when I didn't feel well after consuming them. I haven't found a suitable replacement for these chips, because no others taste quite like them, so some of my baked goods are permanently changed for the worse. Walmart did not have it, so offered to mail it to me for free. It arrived in a box with no ice. And although my delivery instructions were to place it inside of a screen in porch, it was placed in full sun on the stoop! Needless to say, it was a fully melted bag bloated with chocolate!! Even so, it should have been packed in ice for delivery at the very least.
