Purchased a Giant Talon 4, delivery came within a few days.Fantastic bike, great value for money. Whoever put it together did an excellent job. Gear changes crisp, breaks excellent.Ride mostly around Berkshire area, on/off road. Great on both.Really very happy with my purchase and recommend to anyone buying their first MTB, or anyone looking to get into some light off roading. Holds itself on the road too, can't stress that enough.5 Stars!

Did not come with the components listed in specs.

I recently picked up this bike for a friend who was just getting into mtb and all was going well until the we had troubled shifting. Also the brakes were squealing and I noticed the front rotor was bent. I was ok with that but I decided to look up the specs for the derailer to upgrade but then I realized the Shimano Tourney mentioned in the specs is not even on the bike. It is some cheaper Microshift brand and also the crankset is not the one listed. It's some no name cheaper crank. I don't think it's fair no even have the parts that are said to come with the bike. It's already and entry level bike and I feel bad that he has to ride it now. My feeling are leaning towards returning the bike and just buying from somewhere else.

Bought this bike for my son for Christmas, we took it out of the box and all seemed fine but the next day the back tyre was down. Once pumped up, it wouldn't stay up. We took it to our local bike shop and once expected it was reported that the inner tube was faulty and we needed to replace it. Abit disappointing as this is a new bike, just pleased er checked it all before he opened it on Christmas morning

Good bike for the money
5 September 2023

Bought after comparing to Specialized & Trek. Handlebars too wide, trimmed from 780 to 650 easily. Long frame perfect for downhill, gearing made climbs easy, smooth ride. Very happy with my choice.

Good bike, son is pleased, however...
22 September 2021

My 13 year old son bought this bike with his own money to get him back and forth to his various jobs. He does enjoy the bike, the size is good for him, and the bike itself works well. We are both very disappointed in the tires. Within the first few weeks of having it, the tire went completely flat from a goat head thorn. Our closest bike shop is 2 hours away, and we thought buying a quality bike meant maybe some better quality tires. Nope. Finally got to the shop to get it fixed and had to purchase a tube and slime to fix it. Get home, get it back together and within a week, back tire is flat, same thing. Pretty frustrated. We realize this isn't an "extreme off road" model, but we hoped for a little better than what we got. Now he's just waiting for me to go back to ... MoreMy 13 year old son bought this bike with his own money to get him back and forth to his various jobs. Great beginner bike, but subpar quality and customer service
1 December 2020

The Talon 4 I bought had a front fork issue just after 3 weeks of light road and trail use. I contacted Giant's support team and was told to go to an authorized bike shop. The bike shop where I bought the bike from told me Giant would not replace the front fork and told them to order from Suntour instead. The support team told me I would be taken care of and I should trust the local bike shops, but they ended up putting an RST Gila fork (which is better than the Suntour that came with this bike) on my bike due to lack of inventory of the original Suntour fork. I don't mind the new fork, but this whole situation made me question the quality of the parts used on this bike and their lack of customer support. Nevertheless, I still think this is a great beginner bike to ... MoreThe Talon 4 I bought had a front fork issue just after 3 weeks of light road and trail use. I recommend this Bike
17 March 2021

Awesome, Purely outstanding mountain bike!I am 6'2", 245 pounds and this bike is great. Minimal to zero tire sag while riding at 45-50 psi.Fork suspension, not too stiff and not too loose at retail setting, although there are Preload+/- knobs to set it to your preferred setting. The seat is tad uncomfortable at first, but after extended use you get used to it.Does not come with front/rear reflectors, kickstand or water bottle cage/holder, but does have mount-points for them plus a second mounting location for a water bottle cage or portable tire pump. I would recommend also buying adjustable fenders or splash-guards if you plan on riding in wet conditions.

I would definitely buy again but probably a Talon 1 or 2.
19 November 2021

It's been great! Loving how fun it is to just whip out my bike and go for a ride, learn new tricks, go riding with my mates, etc. It's just that the tubes and tires gave out after just a week of riding through rocky terrain and was expecting them to last a lot longer. This isn't the biggest problem though, because they can both be replaced fairly cheaply. I would recommend it to an absolute beginner but for someone who is picking up their second bike, I would recommend a Talon 1 or 2.

Misleading specs
18 June 2022

I just purchased a Talon 4 about 3 days ago. It does not come with Maxxis tires like in pictures. Comes with Kenda tires.. My bike does not have two front gears. It only has one sprocket thus not having a front derailer. It does not come with Shimano power train. Comes with an 8 speed microshift advent, which is a cheaper unreliable product. Specs on this website for a talon 4 are incorrect. My bike shop said they cannot help because they used all parts supplied in the box... Update your website @Giant with new specs... bike shop wont accept this return. I should have purchased a specialized bicycle..

Wrong size handlebars
15 April 2021

I recently purchased the Giant Talon 4 at a local bike shop. The assembled the bike out of the bike. When we picked up the bike, the handlebars seemed extremely narrow. They measured at 25.5 inches, which does not match the spec. The spec says they should be 30.7inches. We took it back to the shop and the guy told us that is what came out of the box and would not help us. Pretty bummed as we were expecting the wider handle bars.
