Mine is a large a weighs 61 pounds. Battery range is about 35 miles over various terrain, road , gravel and bike trail. Up to 800 feet elevation. Needs a taller gear for top end. Motor cuts off at 20 mph.breaks work great, front fork absorbs bumps very well, handles well. Stock pedals very small. Overall good value for the money.

After much research and reading online information as well as talking to my retailer and test riding I decided on the Giant Talon E +3 bike. I really liked the color LCD display panel. I had to order a large and I picked it up yesterday. To my dismay my bike had a simple push button led light controller. No display, no speedometer, no odometer. Needless to say I am quite disappointed in this purchase!!

Return policy means that after your ride the bike home you can't return it. I am stuck with a bike that doesn't travel as far as advertised on e-assist. Bad fork, you will need to invest a minimum of 300$ to upgrade the fork to something useable. Very heavy bike. I can't recommend this product as I am stuck trying to return it. DO NOT BUY.

I bought this bike to ride on the road with my wife because she also has an ebike and also to use as a mountain bike. It is a very good road bike, but it falls short of a good mountain bike because of the poor quality front fork. The fork has no rebound damping, no lockout, and no air spring. All it has is a spring with sag adjustment. This bike deserves an air spring at the very least. After 2 weeks of riding on roots and small rocks at my local single track trails, I had to spend $350 to upgrade the fork. It was worth it. I do not have to listen to all the clunks and creaks the stock fork made and I have better control of the bike. But most important is that the bike is a lot more fun to ride. Considering this is a low priced e mountain bike, I am satisfied with all the other components. I do wish it had tubeless ready tires, but I can get those when the original tires wear out. So I would recommend this bike to a friend if they are going to stay off bumps or are willing to upgrade the fork.
The bike has been great for it's intended purpose. I usually get 50 miles or more on a charge, riding mostly in Tour mode and then shifting gears to keep my crank cadence above 60rpm. If you're getting less than that, you're likely asking for too much support. The shock is fine for the road or beginning trails. For advanced riders, this just isn't the right tool. I use my Trance X E+ 3 for trail riding. The price is right and the system seems tough as nails.
I looked on line to buy my bike. It clearly said in the giant website The store down the road (THS) didnt have my bike. So i bought it on line. I had to pay an extra $90 to send a bike to ThS. The next day the owner of THS told me they had my bike in stock amd can pick it up anytime. Im disappointed the giant website was inaccurate and disappointed they still made me pay the $90 to basicslly restock THS 's bike supply. For a huge company like giant to do that to a customer is wrong.
Just buy it. You know you want it. It will be worth it. I promise.I have been researching an electric bike for over a year. I was debating saving some money and getting a direct-to-consumer bike, but in the end wanted one from a brand/shop nearby where I could go for service. I am glad I did. The Giant retailer near me has been awesome!I wanted a jack-of-all-trades bike and the Talon-e fit the bill. The bike has plenty of power; easily gets up to the 20mph pedal assist speed. I can take it on mountain bike trails without fear of breaking it. It can be a decent commuter bike too, even with the wrong type of tires. Surprisingly good range from the battery.Best purchase I have made in a long time. Absolutely love it and I ride it almost every day.It did not ... MoreJust buy it. You know you want it. Absolutely love it and I ride it almost every day.It did not come with Shimano derailleur and shifter as listed on the Giant website. Instead, it has Microshift Advent for both. They work great so no complaints.I do run out of gear at 20+ mph. On the trail it is not a problem, but wish it had one taller gear for the road. That would be my only con.
I grew up riding bmxs all over a small town and this talon revives the experience. I've replaced the pedals and put some less aggressive tires on to use it as a commuter and for running errands. Honestly, I probably average a higher speed on my traditional road bike but cutting across a field or some other obstacles without blinking an eye makes me feel like a kid again.I wish there was an override to get some extra juice from the motor but otherwise this has been the perfect bike for me.Assembly was top notch and I was grateful for the skilled builder.
I've owned a mountain bike for several years & there are some hills & inclines I had begun to dread the grind of getting up. I wanted to try an ebike after hearing from others talk about the ease of them. I test rode one & was really impressed. I purchased a size small in the Giant Talon E+3 & my bike arrived at my local retailer in just a few days. I must say I love this bike, the gear shifting is smooth, the motor is whispering quiet & the battery life is good. I am able to get up any hill with ease that I previously had to struggle with. I mainly ride on paved surfaces with some gravel & dirt connecting trails. For my needs the bike is perfect & the cost is reasonable compared to many other similar bikes. My husband put my more comfortable seat from my other bike ... MoreI've owned a mountain bike for several years & there are some hills & inclines I had begun to dread the grind of getting up. My husband put my more comfortable seat from my other bike on the Talon & also purchased a suspension seat post that really helps the ride. I also chose to change my handlebars from my other bike to the Talon. Added an Led light on the handlebars & bike mirror. I also purchased a Giant brand kickstand from my bike retailer that they installed when assembling my bike (a must have). The buying experience from Giant was very easy, offering financing options with no interest up to 12 months. I think you will enjoy this bike & the excellent customer service Giant offers.
My first e-bike - and I wish I had gotten onto the bandwagon sooner! The five power assist modes are so easy to flick between when riding (via your left thumb on the display meter) and it makes riding uphill a breeze. Headwinds are no longer an issue and I'm genuinely keen to ride this to work and to explore the local trails. The battery is well protected from rocks and water and comes with two keys to lock it in the frame if need be. Battery range is excellent - I rode 52km on my first ride in mostly Eco mode (lowest setting) and arrived home with 72% charge still. The shale green colour really is magnificent and Giant have outdone themselves here. The only slight con with this bike is moving between gears 9 and 10 (at high speed) - there is a slight delay before ... MoreMy first e-bike - and I wish I had gotten onto the bandwagon sooner! That being said - if you use this primarily on trails you'll almost never use that gear.
