Oh & CCL's delivery speed was amazing, ordered at night & was at my house the next morning! Don't know if that's standard for the site or not but I was impressed!

This is a great card, but honestly, if you're within 20-40% of the performance, I would honestly hold off. With the, uh, "market price" of these cards, it's not worth it unless you literally have nothing. And even then, there are other options that will get you by for a more palatable amount of dosh. This card is a strong 1440p card, and a very strong 1080p card. Much further than that, you might find that lower settings are more appropriate, and at that point, it's not even worth it. "Don't mention price" is a such a cop-out way of saying, "Don't attempt to dissuade people from buying something they don't need!"

I was able to snatch this one up open box. After updating my Linux kernel this card worked perfectly. It allows me to play modern games at 1080p on high or ultra settings without stuttering. While I'm not a good digital artist, I do dabble in it, and this card performs well there too. The generous amount of VRAM allows me to render digital art without the significant lag I had previously. The only thing lacking is the strong ray tracing support that an NVIDIA card would offer, but I knew that going it. At the price I paid for the card this is not a problem for me. Overall a good card.

Fantastic card, great performer, but expensive

I'm rating this card based on 2k resolution, not 4k. At 4k, it might still be really good, but the 6800 or higher would be recommended. But, let me be clear: this card is fantastic.Performance wise, at 2k, it's kicking a lot of butt. I play Red Dead Redemption 2, Star Citizen, Battlefield 5 (and now 6), and the difference in the games (coming from my aging 1060 6GB) is ridiculous. 60fps min at 2k resolutions (Star Citizen, in alpha and not optimized, is the exception, but I still hit 60 fps on a regular basis).Heat and noise: the card is cooled well with the triple fan solution Gigabyte is using. It generally runs in the 60-70C temp ranges under load, and there is very little noise. The only upside is that my old GTX 1060 sold for almost $300, which almost makes up for the difference. So this market is a bad thing, but it can be a bit of a good thing for getting rid of old tech. If you've got old tech to sell after you buy this card, fantastic. If you find this card at MSRP, then even better.I'll add that I'm using running this card on a DIY system with an AMD 5600x CPU, x570 mobo, and 32GB of RAM with a Corsair 750w PSU and a Samsung 980 Pro nvme drive. YMMV.

First card was DOA but second has been solid
23 February 2022

The card arrived and I've been waiting to complete my build with the last few pieces. During install of AMD drivers, screen displayed artifacts and then the screen went blank. Tried rebooting, Windows logon would artifact and then go to no display. Reseating the card stopped working and card gets stuck during post with MB video error. In the process for a replacement but at a time when consumers are paying double MSRP the margin of error and quality control should be top notch. I know that defective parts happen and it could have even happened during shipping. But still doesn't excuse defective parts. Once the replacement arrives and works for a acceptable time I will update the review. 2nd card has been solid since it arrived. For the price, the performance of this GPU has been acceptable. Cryptocurrency mining shot demand through the roof, so it's understandable, though now that's going away and people are picky. The only reason why I had to make this purchase was because my gtx 970 started dieing. As such I started to play the newegg shuffle to get a replacement before the card died. This is what I got. Now it is a nice upgrade from the 970 but when you end up paying over $300 above MSRP for it the card just doesn't have the features to warrant that. First the card has a unique layout which prevents it from using the one waterblock for the 6700xt on the market. Given how far down the tree the 6700xt is, and how there seems to be no motion on any more waterblocks for the 6700xt I'm not counting on there ever being one. Big let down. Next is the RGB situation. The one RGB that is on the card requires Fusion 2.0 to run. Now it would have been nice if I could have just had a A-RGB connection or some other connection to run in tandem with all the other RGBs in the system but that doesn't exsist. Even if I wanted to just turn off the RGB I would have to go into the card to disconnect the RGB. The kicker here though is I did actually install Fusion 2.0 along with the motherboards RGB software and the difference was disappointing. Short of it is, I can only get the RGB on Fusion 2.0 to do about half of what the other software can do. In the end there are better options out there with more features and better prices. The only reason I would recommend this card is if you are desperate like I was.

Loving this card as much as my "other".
28 February 2022

Ok I have waited to do this because I was doing everyday gaming on 2 systems. Both 5600 with 32G Ram both on Asus ROG B550 MB's. One has an RTX 3070 the other has the 6700XT.In Benchmarks, when I let Afterburner OC power and Fan these cards are within 100 points in Furmark.I brought back a 3060 to get the 6700XT.I have been playing Elden Ring on both cards interchangeably and although things are getting better with GPUs...don't wait or do the lottery: Buy AMD I swear this card works as well as my 3070. It is a bit hotter but that may be because AMD reports that second temp.I stood for the lottery twice to get that and the 3060 and the 3060 was just not good enough and this 6700XT is good enough.

As of July 1st is available easily from multiple retailers, but the rest are way over the manufacturer suggested price! Even from retailers that I thought were reputable!! Because make NO mistake: this is just not a $1,000 card. Even given the higher taxes/tariffs, look at the price of the FE/AMD stock version price. And it's not like you can make your money back by mining with it when not in use because it's hash rates are lower than it's predecessor the 5700xt. It's not worthless in that aspect... just less profitable than a card that was sold for less than half at the time. Plus BTC prices aren't doing too well at the moment, as well as the countdown to Eth 2.0, and who knows how much that's going to affect thing. In other words "don't buy it for mining"As far as gaming it's as much as any normal gamer could need. Pretty much any game could be run at max settings and get from around 45 FPS on red dead 2 for the low and 144 FPS on your lower demand games like overwatch and Fortnite, and your games like COD Cold War being in the middle of those 2 averaging around 60. Ray tracing off, or maybe set to low. Until AMD tweaks the drivers and releases their version of dlss the ray tracing is going to impact performance more than what it's worth.Good card for only a 192 bus, basically a faster 3060, but not a 3070 depending on the game obviously. May perform better than a 3070 on certain titles that are optimized for the AMD architecture.
