I bought this wanting to try something new. I've used Schick Xtreme 3-blade razors for years and then started to use the Target brand of them that were just as good. I wanted to see what the hype was about with these types of shavers. At first I was amazed at how effortlessly they shaved, but this was also a part of the problem. They're still great razors, but the Fusion 5 doesn't suit me and my needs.

Best blades

Shout out the movie Blade but Gillette is the best Blade. Nothing against Wesley Snipes but this blades are the leading role in my movie. I love the pro glide and I was trying out different cartridges like the shield and I just find the classic glides to be the most suitable for me as I shave once every other day. Thanks for the amazing service and subscription option. I take advantage of the latter and truly appreciate Gillette. I used other blades and brands but the look and feel from these are what set the bar for my standards. I’d love a sample pack of all the types of blades Gillette sells to try the blades out to find my perfect one but like I mentioned I found the pro glide original to suit me for now. Blown away!

Travelled abroad last month and used my old Mach3 Turbo...it nearly ripped my face off! (Very hard water apparently.) Was lent a Fusion 5 Proglide razor (vibrating function). Thought it was a bit of a useless gimmick and would be OK at best. How wrong I was! At first I thought it was a bit on the heavy side, but it shaved so fast, smooth, and safe. So I came home and carried on using it and as I usually managed to nick myself with my old razor, I expected the same with this, but the Proglide is brilliant. Plus such a close shave. I'm converted! Lots of posts on any product tend to be negative, but I can honestly say I had to write a review on how good this razor is and agree with others who gave it 5 stars.

Fusion 5

I have used Gillette since I was a teenager . To my benefit i don't shave often and when i do, my chest and my two friends down there are part of the process, so the overly expensive refills do last a long time . I have tried all types of more affordable products and subscriptions and i always end up getting my Fusion 5. For the rest, none of them have passed the first use test so i end up with boxes of unused useless handles and refills. I still have the handle that vibrates but I will go crazy the day it breaks . Why was that discontinued? I would try the new heat blades but they are too expensive . I think anyone can (and must) prep the skin before shaving way cheaper than relying on an expensive heated handle. Gillette Fusion Razor a smooth operator.

I have to battery razors and was dubious about the fusion razors ability to match them. I was surprised at easily it glided, in fact I was so impressed with how smooth it was I am still using it today. I still have the same blade in it as from day one and am testing how long it works without changing it. I don't know how much the blades cost but being a pensioner price is an issue that will determine blade change frequency. The ease of shave impressed me as well, even with the other two I have they seem to be rough on shaving with some skin irritation when finished. Great product unfortunately $$$$$$$

My husband trialled the Gillette Fusion Razor. His first comment was "Wow! This is the best razor ever! It just glides over my skin and leaves it super soft and hair free." He shaves at night and usually by lunchtime the next day he has stubble but not with the Gillete Fusion Razor as his face was still smooth with only a very little amount of stubble when he shaved again at night. Shaving takes a lot less time now. He definitely wanted me to buy him some from the supermarket,however, my jaw dropped when saw the price. Seriously!! Super super $$$$ As good as the product is I dont think too many people can justify spending this much on a disposable razor. What a shame Gillette that you cater to the rich.

Just only 2 uses of the razor!

I recently bought this Gillette 5 blade razor as I misplaced my old one, which I had used for several years now. The blades I usually buy from giant stores, which come in bulk(20) that lasts for a quiet a long time for me. This one came with two blades. With 2nd time use, the blades lost their sharpness. I got to shave 4 times to complete my beard shave for the day! Also left a lot of hair on the orange area of the blade. The hair also didn't got off between the blades dispite rinsing several times. Not sure what kind of design modifications Gillette did with this one! Bad quality.

Like most other Gilette razors, absolute garbage.

Clean shave, yeah cool. The scars and ingrown hairs I get every time I use Gillette razors, not cool. Your gel strips are trash, stop putting them on all your widely accessible razor heads. It gunks up the blades, it irritates skin, it traps hair follicles. It also causes pores to become trapped and leads to breakouts. I'm writing this because every time I've had this issue, specifically with Gillette, my most recent shave I got over 8 DEEP ingrown hairs and multiple clogged pores. Bic disposable razors are better because you can crack off the strip when they have them and theyre just as common.

Sad but not 20

I've used this edition since its inception. Though I've been loyal to this product it has never lived up to a blade refill a month. Not even close. Because of price ill use past what I consider due date as comfort defines but overall better than others except safety razors which last about 3 to 4 daysIf I shave scalp and beard it's nearly a goner and my head is pretty thin. Picture a Franciscan friar with thinning hair lol.But it's the best I can find and am willing to compromise just wish it was closer to the advertised 20 shaves a 4 pack lasts almost a month.

Uncomfortable Shave

I have been using Gillette razors for over 5 years, and shave every other day. This time it was about 3 days since my last shave. I was disappointed in the Gillette Fusion 5 Power Handle Razor. This razor is a regular razor as well as a battery operated trimmer. The Gillette Fusion 5 worked well as a trimmer. I was able to clean up my side burns and the back of my neck without pulling or tugging at my hair. The battery operation did not work as well for the razor portion. I did not notice that the pulses helped it to reduce friction or help it to glide easier. The razor portion was sharp, but it pulled and tugged at my whiskers, and I did not get as close of a shave as I would have liked.The ergonomic handle did fit well in my hand and was comfortable to hold. The rubberized grips did help me to have a better grasp while wet. I like that I can quickly and easily change blades by pressing the button on the back with just one click. I also like that the blade refills are interchangeable with this handle. I was able to switch blades with a different Gillette refill and get a good shave with this handle. The razor itself is very durable. I just wish that the Gillette Fusion 5 Blade head gave me a closer shave without pulling and tugging at my facial hair. For this reason I gave this product 3 stars, the handle is nice but the blades are what matters.
