The original Acqua di Gio EDT is very citrusy, uplifting, and light to me, whereas this is more green and woodsy (pine forest like, but not quite-hard to describe the scent). I like it overall. Bumping up my rating on this into the love category (been wearing this, and it smells really good-started picking up some lovely sweetness and freshness). This is a fantastic scent-especially for outdoors in the springtime. You get an herbal almost junipery piney zing with this as opposed to a citrusy zing from the EDT. The EDT is a great citrusy fragrance, and the EDP is a great green/herbal/woodsy fragrance.

Though I think it's a a great scent, I personally would not buy it more than likely, as I don't wear Acqua di Gio that much anymore due to everyone wearing it. But the reason so many people wear it is because it's a staple cologne that you cannot go wrong with. I do like to keep some on hand though. It has top tier sillage and longevity. Lasts all day and you can smell it from a good distance. Very powerful, so use frugally. If you like Acqua Di Gio EDT and Sauvage EDT, it kind of gives the vibe of a mix between the two.

Acqua Di Gio Eau De Parfum

This parfum is outstanding. It has an excellent fragrance that has a citric and aromatic essence that complements my skin without any irritation or rash. The fragrance lasted the entire day and is not overwhelming especially when I apply it after shaving. Once you apply the parfum it comes on strong and then turns subtle and pleasant as you go through your day. I also found it wasn’t necessary to use a significant amount of parfum spray to get the desired fragrance and effect. I found it best to apply the parfum around the neck, behind the ears, and face for a long-lasting result.I am loving Acqua di Gio, especially the tart yuzu citrus from lemon and mandarin orange, with a slight white floral from jasmine and some neroli to my nose. My initial thought on this scent was ”it’s way too strong!” Smelling the bottle directly gives off a very strong scent that feels like it might be a bit too overpowering. Once sprayed it does have a milder feel and it doesn’t dissipate too quickly. Anyone looking to try this parfum needs to give it a spray on your body to get the true sense of it, as it not only comes across not as strong but also has a different scent. It missed the mark!!

I have owned multiple fragrances from various designers from Cologne, EDT, EDP and even Pure Parfum. But Armani Acqua Di Gio (original version) was always one of the top winners in my list. So when this Acqua Di Gio EDP version came out I was really excited to try this. To my surprise, I probably had very high hopes from this fragrance but it missed the mark. This fragrance in my opinion is not a hot weather fragrance I have not tried this in cold weather yet), but during summer time when I sprayed this Acqua Di Gio EDP it had a funky smell. I did compared this to the original Acqua Di Gio but that fragrance no matter the season it smelled great. Passed the “Flight Attendant Test”

I’ll start this review by stating that I am a flight attendant. All day I’m surrounded by not-so-great smells onboard the aircraft, ranging from grease coming out of the steam ovens to jet fuel exhaust to urine from the lavatories. Needless to say, at the end of the day my uniform can smell a little… Funky. Enter this fragrance. When I first sprayed it, it gave me all of the familiar notes of Acqua Di Gio. Something about this scent seemed a little sweeter than the scent I have known for many years. Somewhat a little bit sweeter, but still masculine, and overall a great Spring/Summer scent. I get a straightforward baby powder scent with a little bit of something warm and spicy underneath. Maybe powder and sandalwood. It's very nice but not exactly outstanding or memorable. I'm not sure I could pick the smell out of a lineup. But that's fine. Some days I'm looking for exactly that. Just a base smell that lets me know it's there but doesn't intrude too much. I was impressed that I could still smell it the next morning after putting it on the night before. I have worn it another half dozen times over the past couple weeks and each time I notice that I can smell it the following day. I been eyeing for a few weeks now, and checking the US site for it's release almost daily, so on Tuesday I ordered a bottle of it with overnight shipping. It arrived today.Therefore, this is a very early first impression of the scent. I've been wearing it all day, and as with any scent, the opening is certainly what predominates my senses at the moment.For me, I think it would be fair and accurate to describe this is as "the EDT with the addition of that salty, minerally deep-marine accord which heavily characterizes Profondo".It also features (at least in the open) a soapy quality that is absent in the EDT but can be found in Profondo, which leaves me to believe it is the Lavender at work. Essenza actually has a good bit of what eventually became Profumo somewhere in it's DNA. Where I described this as a happy middle-ground between EDT and Profondo, Essenza was the happy-middle ground between EDT and Profumo.This release has very, very little in common with either of those, and what it does have in common with them is more about the DNA of the EDT which is present in both.That's not a bad thing either, as I think Profumo does perfectly what it set out to do, and should be left in it's lane. We don't need a re-release of Profumo which does the job less-well than it did.Furthermore, to address a question I am quite sure sits at the forefront of many people's mind; this is not a replacement for the EDT, but it's a really good release and a good addition to the line.I think those who will be most pleased with this release will be those who REALLY liked Profondo - but wished it had skewed slightly more towards the root DNA of the EDT than it did.I'll probably add an updated review later as I get some more time with it. For now though, I do recommend it.

It does smell good on my skin but smelling it off the bottle without spraying, ADG smells a little bit different. The classic ADG is the ultimate clean scent and with all clean citrus scents, it suffers from very short longevity.This eau de parfum flanker promises a longer lasting version. Off the bottle or sprayed on a piece of paper, I can tell you that the "clean-ness" aspect of the scent changes as soon body oil and sweat gets added to the equation. Word of advice: spray this on your skin when deciding and walk around.
