To be fair, it does say it’s a soft leather. But the difference between the images online and what you actually receive is a mockery in itself. The best description of the “leather” I could come up with was that it seemed like $50 high school girl wrinkly leather boots. The wrinkle pattern was uniform across the entire boot, and the leather felt weak and cheap. Had 2 sizing issues prior to this buy (after reading online that Doc Martens claims nothing has changed) these ones finally fit, instantly returned them and I bought Solovairs. I’m hoping you guys burn down the brand in your infinite greed and capitalistic vanity. Did I mention the prices of EVERY boot has increased by, oh I can’t remember, is it $20? $40? I bought a pair of these on a whim, having never seen them before in the shops, although I had been looking for some dark brown boots or DMs for a while.They’re quite a wide fitting, even when laced up tight but once you get used to your feet having plenty of room, they’re comfortable. They are noticeably heavy due to the amount of leather and thicker soles but I’ve worn them all day for work and not felt too tired, although I do tend to clomp around a bit in them later in the day.After a few wears, the uppers get noticeably marked. My first thought was to rush out and buy some sort of treatment for the leather, but now I quite like the worn-in look.Overall, they’re what I expected from Doc Marten: a good quality, good looking boot and at a good price too.

These were for my husband. He loves the slightly softer, textured leather and that the laces hole rivets(?) are a little different to normal. They are comfy as are all the Docs we both know and love.He had hoped to buy a pair of the lighter grey textured leather and was disappointed when he found out they were a narrower, women’s boot. Would you consider creating a men’s version of these in the future?
