Received a bottle for a birthday, and managed to draw out finishing this exceptional drink for 2 years. It is what you imagine great old scotch might be -- brought to life. No harshness, no imbalance, just smooth, complex flavors that present themselves over several wonderful moments. The aftertaste, which for example is Talisker's flaw, here is sublime. I was depressed after drinking the last of it.

"Dark chocolate, honeyed and warm." Those adjectives are from Glenfiddich, but they are spot on! You hear lots of folks say that the "gateway" scotch would best be exemplified by a Glenfiddich, or Glenlivet 12 year. There is merit in that line of thinking, but if it weren't for the price, I would suggest Glenfiddich 30! Will definitely buy again and share on warranted special occasions.
