I've wanted to try a Global chef knife since reading Anthony Bourdain's endorsement in Kitchen Confidential, and it does not disappoint. The Massdrop price made it a no brainier. My wife has even taken to it. I've been trying to get her to use full size knives forever, but she's always preferred dinky little paring knives. Now the Global is the first one she grabs.

In the words of a culinary instructor I lived with for a time: "If I were going to work as a professional cook in some restaurant starting Monday, I'd get a set of Globals. They're great if you want a good knife that doesn't need to be babied."Spot on. My wife and I got a couple from our wedding registry, and I bought a few more when this sale went live. Some people don't like the dimpled steel handles because they can get a little slippery compared to wood, but that's the only downside I can think of for these things.

It was a Christmas gift for my brother, who loves to cook. The first time he used it, chopping the carrots and parsnips for the big dinner, he yelled out: "boy this knive really makes it easy!" Last Sat, my Bae cleaned it and put it in the drain board tip down. He brought it in to her to illustrate how she was supposed to handle it.It is his first professional knife and he loves it! Great buy!

I've had this knife now for almost a year and it's my go to for cutting vegetables and fine prep work. Blade is angled very sharply which allows for accurate cuts without mashing delicate vegetables or fruits. Main critique is that it does not have enough support on the top of the knife if I am cutting through thicker cuts of meat or hard root vegetables.

This knife is well balanced and has great craftsmanship. It also has enough weight on it. It feels good to cut with and I am a lefty so it is hard to find a knife that suits me.

Great product and super fast shipping. Totally satisfied with grip feel and happily surprised by weight of the blade.

I just received this new chefs knife to replace aging lowerquality cutlery. It has an ultrasharp edge from the factory and the weightbalance feels nice.

Nice and sharp , beautiful to look at . A bit light in the handle so balance is off Sharpener is great for these knives but totally useless on my other knives Overall .. they are good knives for the money spent If you want better quality then be prepared to pay the big bucks Im a retired Chef who still likes to cook and these are great for what I need

If you are only ever going to buy one decent knife in your life time make sure that it is a global knife. This particular knife is a great all-rounder. It is good for chopping up vegetables (especially those pesky large pumpkins and watermelons) and it is good with carving meat. The ceramic core of the global knife helps minimise weight in your hand whilst the continuous blade to handle metal creates strength through the knife. The cutting edge will remain perfect for many dinners however I do recommend buying a genuine global knife sharpener as the blade angle on this knife differs from other standard knives.

Amazing quality knife. A sharp knife is a safe knife. It will do most things from fine cuts to hard pumpkin*I wouldn't recommend for rocky cutting herbs, mainly for slicing or dicing. For harder vegetables and pushing cuts I recommend the vegetable knife. Great choice for a student, apprentice or home cook who loves food. Who want a minimal amount of utensils.I wish It was at least 21 or 23cms long but I am happy and content with it. I have had this knife for 5 months and it takes care of everything.Avoid frozen meats* you will damage blade. Reccomend the sharpener as well it is your ally!
