Global GS-5 Vegetable Knife A Global knife is the perfect blend of tradition, innovation, Japanese style, and European quality. It was in the year 1985 that Yoshikin company in Japan revolutionised the modern knife with Global knives. The edge of the knife is the most important feature and it’s still produced in signature style. Instead of a typical beveled edge, the knives had a milled edge that made it dramatically sharper and easier to maintain for a longer time. Global Knives are a combination of the iconic dotted grip and a bolsterless blade that helps in sharpening. These knives are an integral part of the Australian market today and our best selling range.

This is my second Global vegetable knife in 10 years. Had to buy a new one as the other kept getting blunt even after sharpening it. Hope I will get better use from this knife.

In the words of a culinary instructor I lived with for a time: "If I were going to work as a professional cook in some restaurant starting Monday, I'd get a set of Globals. They're great if you want a good knife that doesn't need to be babied."Spot on. My wife and I got a couple from our wedding registry, and I bought a few more when this sale went live. Some people don't like the dimpled steel handles because they can get a little slippery compared to wood, but that's the only downside I can think of for these things.

It was a Christmas gift for my brother, who loves to cook. The first time he used it, chopping the carrots and parsnips for the big dinner, he yelled out: "boy this knive really makes it easy!" Last Sat, my Bae cleaned it and put it in the drain board tip down. He brought it in to her to illustrate how she was supposed to handle it.It is his first professional knife and he loves it! Great buy!

I've had this knife now for almost a year and it's my go to for cutting vegetables and fine prep work. Blade is angled very sharply which allows for accurate cuts without mashing delicate vegetables or fruits. Main critique is that it does not have enough support on the top of the knife if I am cutting through thicker cuts of meat or hard root vegetables.
I NEEDED TO REPLACE MY CURRENT SET OF KNIVES.SINCE I HAVE INHERITED MY MOTHERS HANDS, MY CURRENTSET BECAME TO DANGEROUS TO HOLD,ALWAYS SLIPPING AND TURNING.I RESEARCHED THESE KNIVES AND WAS SOLD.THE GRIP, DESIGN, AND WEIGHT ARE EXCELLENT AND BLADE IS SUPER SHARP.OH HAPPY DAY... I FEEL LIKE THE GOURMET CHEF IN MY OWN KITCHEN!
My friend used this knife when she was over for lunch one day and fell in love with it. I sent her one for her birthday. It's excellent. Perfect to cut just about anything if you keep the blade sharp. The magic is in the weight of the handle. Perfect for dicing vegetables when I make soup but will also cut a tomato perfectly. I love this brand, there is no handle to break or fall off. I've been using them since Anthony Bourdain said that was all he ever used...
Beautifully balanced and thin blade. Works for slicing not for western style chopping…if you misuse it like that it’ll chip :)
My son recommended this knife and I love it! It cuts effortlessly, and is beautifully balanced in my hand. I keep the blade in the sheath and box in which it arrived, and wash the blade as soon as I've used it. Somehow, a fine nick appeared on the cutting edge, but it hasn't affected how the knife functions.
For stocking the singular knife at a reasonable price. The other knives in my set are twenty years old.
