The age guidelines for this are not safe. Someone bought this for my son. Without my permission. And under supervision he rode it down a slight decline. The brakes were not adequate and he crashed into a garage door. His stomachs hit the steering wheel. This can cause serious injury. I understand adequate supervision is required. I am not trying to be rude with this review. But as an emergency worker, in my opinion, 4 is too young for this type of go-cart.
Bought for my 8-year-old autistic son who loves racing games and had outgrown his previous go-kart bike. He goes for a bike ride everyday now! We really like that the wheels can make a fairly sharp turn, the ability to pedal backwards, the parking brake, and of course, that it will grow with him over the next few years! Only slight downside is that he has to keep pedalling to move, there's no "coasting" like a traditional bike. Super minor for us at this point.
