Godox is quickly climbing to the top of the photo and video market and are establishing themselves as a top tier brand. They make very nice equipment and this new flash trigger is just proof of that! Very cool, albeit a smaller than expected device. Very high tech and very simple to use. All touchsceen. Works well and communicates with godox flashes. 5 stars!

I've shot with the X-Pro S for a few years now and it's great. As soon as I saw this X3 Trigger on PixaPro's Instagram for pre-order, I dived straight in to purchase it.I've used it a few times now and its seamless, small and doesn't take up hardly any space in the camera bag. It did come in Chinese but a simple setting in the language got me to English in seconds.I like the touch screen and the ability to increase flash power with a slide of your finger and individual or as a group. The updating process seems very simple to do and I look forward to future updates.I'm keen to see if Godox and PixaPro embrace the OLED touch screens built into their flashes next.Would recommend for anyone :)

The Xnano has been a massive upgrade over the Xpro because of its simple design, internal USB C rechargeable battery, touch screen and hot shoe locking design. I am a professional real estate and architecture photographer and this has changed the game for me.The simple design and smaller footprint has made this a much easier system to work with than the larger Xpro controller. I love the feel of the buttons and control dial. They are far more professional grade than the plastic of the Xpro. The USB C has such a welcomed change. I no longer need numerous sets of AA batteries to get through my day. I can charge it from so many sources if I need to and the battery lasts all day.The touch screen is responsive and fast. I love that you can pause the flash for when I am shooting brackets and then with a simple touch re-enable it for a flash frame.By far my favorite feature is the locking hot shoe. I hate the screw-down type on the Xpro and this one is a locking metal pin that is far more secure and easy to remove. If I had a con it would be that the touch screen is a little too precise and because of the smaller size if you have larger fingers it can fail to activate because you didn't touch perfectly on the small area I wanted you to.

I was concerned when these were announced. The use of a rechargeable battery that takes 2hours to recharge…what happens if it dies during a shoot? Would I need to carry an AA back up option?Well they finally arrived and after a quick charge we were off. After a handful of jobs over about a week, I’d managed to get 27 hours of shooting time out of one charge nearly 3000 flashes and it only missed a handful. I’ve quickly got used to the interface and am moving around it quickly. I really like that you can not only turn of groups but you can also remove them from the screen if your not using them. Making for a much cleaner interface. I will absolutely be updating the studios triggers with more X3 as and when I need to.
Finally, a flash trigger with a good UI and quick function. I am able to quickly see and adjust my flashes independently without having to fuddle with any buttons. Just click the interface and turn the wheel. Operates similarly to Apple's Smart Watch. The design is sleek and small, and is very impressive. The build quality feels great, it doesn't want to fall off my hot shoe, despite not locking on either.
The Godox X3 N Touchscreen TTL Wireless Flash Trigger is impressively small and lightweight, making it a breeze to carry around. It does exactly what it's meant to, with a bright display that’s easy to read and a user-friendly menu system that’s straightforward to navigate. The buttons are responsive and well-placed, making it easy to adjust settings on the go. For its compact size, it’s surprisingly effective and reliable—a great addition to any photographer’s kit!
This trigger lacks support for the Sekonic L-858-G light meter and does not have support for center-pin or a Legacy Hot Shoe either. Oddly, the later model for Olympus has both. Lack of one star for the lack of meter support in the menu, and another for no legacy hot shoe support for using on another brand of camera needing only a center-pin hot shoe to trigger the flash. Hopefully Godox will fix this in some future firmware as the Olympus model does support both in its menu.Initially, it came with Chinese language on starting. The manual shows the menu symbol and how to change it so not too much of an issue once set. This has also been firmware updated too to version 1.09 with the G3 II firmware updater off the Godox site.
It’s small and sleek. I’m a person who prefers tactile buttons. I liked my Blackberry more than any iPhone since. But, didn’t notice these issues on trigger because I’m not typing. Only used once. Set it up and tested fine. Event ready to start and I looked down to a blank screen. Buttons didn’t work. On/off didn’t change anything. Had my Proii also, switched to that. Next day I turned it on and it worked fine. No idea what happened. Haven’t used it since. Maybe I’ll try again next shoot.
Nice easy to navigate interface but the firmware update is a major pain. First you have to find the update app on the Godox site then cross your fingers that it works. Mine failed 4 times and if it wasn't for a YouTube video I would have returned it. When the update failed I got a black screen so it appeared to be bricked but a specific sequence with the buttons (instructed by the video) put it back into firmware update mode. After a few tries it finally took. Note: A USB-C to USB-C cable will not work (culprit with first try) despite having a USB-C port on the device! I had to use the included cable with a USB-C adapter to connect to my M1 MacBook Pro.
Have been using the Godax X-Pro and X-2 with a 3 light setup, all lights on Manual. Tried the new Xnano and immediately had misfires, flashes changing power, etc. Had to take it off after a few minutes. Probably because the D3 is such an old (but mighty!) model. For the D3 use the X-pro or X2. They work flawlessly. Rated it high because it works great on my Nikon mirrorless.
