GOLDENs Heavy Body Acrylic Paint line is the original line of acrylic colors produced by GOLDEN. The Heavy Body line is knw for its beautifully smooth, buttery texture and is the largest collection of 100% acrylic emulsion formulas available. When working with this line of GOLDEN acrylics, the colors retain brush strokes and knife marks, almost as if "standing up" off the medium. Due to the exclusion of any and all filler, extenders, opacifiers, toners, or dyes added, GOLDENs Heavy Body acrylic colors offer exceptional permanency and lightfastness. On the other hand, due to no added matting agents, this line does not have a consistent finish. Considering each color has a different pigment toleration, those with a higher toleration will dry to a more matte finish. Those colors requiring a lower pigment load will dry glossier with higher transparency. In terms of workability, GOLDEN Heavy Body Acrylics are thixotropic in nature, meaning the more the paint is moved, the lower the viscosity becomes. The faster the application, the thinner the paints feel beneath your tool of choice. When the colors come to rest they gradually return to their formulated viscosity.
