Absolutely phenomenal! Had an old Xbox that was just used for streaming on non smart TV. Most of the apps are not being supported anymore, plus it was taking up to much space, so it was time for the upgrade. New chromecast was best decision ever and B&H had the price! Little remote that it comes with is phenomenal and once programed takes the entire control of the TV itself so you don't have to use TV's remote anymore. Also, love the recent views on the home screen from each app, so you can pick up where you left off without going back to the individual app to resume. Highly recommend it!

We have a Chromecast dongle on all of our TVs (or video display devices - like a spare computer monitor - we cast Aquarium Live or Fireplace Live to it ). We have all the smarts in our phone, tablets and computers. No matter which room in the house or a friends house or office or etc (with a Chromecast enabled device) I am in, I can connect my desired content (YouTube TV, YouTube, Netflix, Pluto, Photos, Documents, Presentation, etc) to that device. It would be nice if all video display devices had Chromecast built in. When I am traveling, I carry a couple of the Chromecast dongles with me. By using your phone, tablet, or computer as the content source, you do not have to deal with the differences of all the different smart devices. You know you phone, you know your content. Enjoy you Chromecast. If one is having problem with Chromecast, it is probably because they do not understand the simplicity of the device. They want to make it more difficult than it is.

I have more problems with chromecast than any other piece of electronics in the house. I have the Original chromecast and it will hesitate and pause every 20 sec. Very annoying when trying to listen to podcasts. So I upgraded to the new chromecast. When it connects it works fine but my iPhone is hit or miss on if it will see the device or not. My wife’s iPad sometimes will and sometimes won’t see the chromecast. Chromecast help is all but useless. It tells me how to reset the device which is a major pain. It will work for about 12 hours then back to not being recognized. Google apps on the App Store get updated but the snide developer remarks on what they fixed (drank lots of coffee) but not saying what they actually worked on or fixed shows their lack of attention ... Excellent value for money. You can cast almost any video in browser from your phone. Also Netflix and other stream apps from phone. Also from pc and laptops on network. Seamless jump between netflix and spotify. Multiple phones conected to one spotify playlist, so at parties everyone can add music to the que. Control volume with phone to tv. Literally the only hicup for me personally, when streaming youtube from laptop, the cast is only from one tab, you cant pre open tabs and jump from one to the other, it will create a new cast link on each tab and this takes a few seconds. So Happy!
I am a huge fan of Google Chromecast. I have tried so many different "Smart TV" softwares and Google makes the best one. I love that the remote is SIMPLE. I always found remotes with a lot of buttons and features to be more annoying than helpful. This one is dead simple to use. I love the Chromecast has so many of the different streaming services built in. I have used other software that was missing some of the major streamers, which seems crazy. The best part about the Chromecast compared to others is that they aggregate the content across my different streaming services. I use five different services and this allows me to see all of my free content in one place rather than jumping around the each of them as I am looking to find my next show/movie to watch.
I have two smart TV's from different brands. They already have builtin many of the apps that I use such as YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney . They even support Chromecast using those apps. However one of my TV's does not support generic Chromecast. That is, I cannot stream video to it from a source where the TV doesn't already have builtin the same app. All that I wanted to do was to add the capability to see my Nest security cameras on my TV. I was able to buy this Chromecast device on sale for $19.98. For that low price, my TV now supports this capability. I have a Google Nest Hub in the same room, so I can speak "Hey Google stream the Driveway Camera to the Master Bedroom TV", and it works. I rated the Chromecast 4 out of 5 stars because although ... One must stream from an app installed on another source like a smartphone, or computer.
Bought this today for work travel because it is small and I like the idea of using my phone as the remote (one less thing to pack). It was replacing a Roku stick that I had forever. I tried in vain for over an hour to get it to connect to hotel WiFi with no success. A quick internet search (thanks Google) shows me you have to have a portable router or a third party WiFi tether to operate this bad boy. I noped this sucker right into its box and plan to return it tomorrow. I’ve already purchased another Roku for pick up. Sigh. It might be great at home but nothing on the packaging or product description ever mentioned that you should forget about taking this with you. Truly a bummer.
This is slightly better than classic Chromecast. Mostly the remote is the selling point here, especially after they changed it so that Android phones don't adjust Chromecast volume by default. In theory it's nice to have everything on one page, but I still need to go to all the separate apps to fully see even what I've been watching. The main page doesn't seem to sync that well with all the apps, especially if you were to, for example, watch anything on your desktop browser. It's still a bit quicker switching between apps on the TV with the remote vs on your phone, though searching via the phone is faster with the keyboard. Finally, the main page does not take into account all the things you've watched before installing this device, so it's sort of starting fresh ... MoreThis is slightly better than classic Chromecast. I use this product a lot. Its pretty much the only way i watch YouTube videos. I really enjoy this product but ive noticed some flaws. I would say that my chromecast works 70 percent of the time and its getting worse. Its becoming increasingly more common for my chromecast to lose connection. The task of restarting the chromecast is becoming increasingly annoying, i constantly have to unplug and repulg my chromecast. And in 2 rare occasions i have had to factory restart my chromecast. But when it is work the quality is pretty good and it goes for long periods of time without any problems other than some small glitches. Im planning on upgrading my chromecast soon and i kinda with their was some competition for the chromecast because based on my passed experiences i ... MoreI use this product a lot. brought this awhile back. When watching a series it will play 1 episode and during the next episode it stop saying "something has gone wrong". If I'm watching a, movie it stops in the middle of the movie saying "something has gone wrong". in tired of unplugging it because that doesn't work at all. don't waste your money!! I use to stand by chromecast but now noooo way. You spend all this money on a device that doesn't have any apps however your downloading the apps to your phone, computer just to cast to this non working device. Do yourself a favor, purchase a roku box or firestick. They are just like Apple when a new generation comes out the old stats acting up so you can buy the newest version.
