Let me start by saying that I love Google pixel & Google Products. This phone is Beautifully Like most High end Phones in this day in age. The screen is large and Beautiful But Not Bright enough. So I THINK? I speak for most of us when I say we love Pixel for two things Cameras and Software Android purity with special Google assistant Features exclusively for the pixel. And was I ever excited For my pixel 6 pro. Decent price bigger Cameras Battery and new assistant features Due to Google own First of it kind processing power. Well as it turns out I was in for a rude awakening! First Software Was glitchey nothing but crashes stuttering Random Reboots and force closed apps. Battery life was horrific with only giving me about a half a day with battery-saving features ... MoreLet me start by saying that I love Google pixel & Google Products. Well as it turns out I was in for a rude awakening! First Software Was glitchey nothing but crashes stuttering Random Reboots and force closed apps. Battery life was horrific with only giving me about a half a day with battery-saving features on. The screen full of glitches not responding to touch horrific fingerprint sensor and for some reason Google decided to give us no type face unlock. Cameras oh the cameras? What happened with the cameras washed out awful-looking photos. Once they go through processing & google algorithm edited them. it would help a bit but I can't figure out how these new sensors can even come close to their old quarter of the size sensors? The phone itself looks nice but feels cheap it actually feels Hollow of course I know it's not but when you tap on the screen it's like tapping on a hollow piece of plastic. Next this phone actually called the police 4 times on its own sitting on my counter decides to call the police. This phone is literally just glitch after glitch in for a company that literally build operating systems this is unacceptable how you get it through time we can get software updates in it might get better however I was not willing to take the risk and this is the first phone I have actually ever returned. Another thing that just astounded me was the lack of quality audio this device puts out through Bluetooth literally I can connect this to one of my speakers and it sounds atrocious I can disconnect it connect my Samsung S21 Ultra and it sounds amazing. The worst part is a phone should be able to make calls and do it well 90% of a time I could not even get a signal from my provider I live in a big city where I typically get amazing signal through Verizon this phone spent most of its time with one bar if that never 5G. Over a two-week span of time I kept trying to talk myself into liking this phone I kept telling myself it's a pixel it's amazing it's got great cameras it's got cool features through the Google Assistant but I realized I was just lying to myself this phone was not ready to be released and should be recalled and fixed Google's processor is garbage and I believe this phone will not make it through a year because that processor will not hold up. Truly first year of anything is typically not good in the end anyway but I was expecting more. I actually review technology for a living planned on doing a YouTube video on this phone the phone was so bad I didn't even bother here's another thing I wanted to point out we always talk about the camera of a pixel and how great photos are but what about the video quality this thing is awful it just doesn't even come close to the S21 Ultra when it comes to recording video I know that there's no 8K on this like the S21 Ultra and I can live with that but the wide-angle lens is a joke and the quality just is not what it should be. Anyway I can go on and on but do yourself a favor pass on this phone do not let the fact that they're hard to get because of stock issue trick you into thinking you want this phone trust me when I say you don't and I truly believe most people are doing what I did telling themselves it's good when they're having nothing but problems their self.

Plus Google's software does a great job in post.- Nice screen. The Bad:- The battery life could be better. Started out decent and quickly lost capacity. Might be less of an issue if it charged quicker.- Performance isn't always great, and when it's not great, it's very distracting.- Occasionally, during a call while on speaker or Bluetooth, the proximity sensor will not allow the user to use the screen as it turns off the display before your finger can make contact.- Strange performance issues pop up intermittently and randomly, such as the keyboard's inability to accept input. The Ugly:- The in-screen fingerprint sensor isn't just a big step back from previous ultrasonic sensors, despite Google's attempts to patch, it's bad design. The rear-mounted fingerprint scanner on the Pixel 2 was in a better, more ergonomic position, and not only worked, but worked quickly and almost always on the first try. The Pixel 6's optical in-screen sensor doesn't work most of the time.

Phone has very speedy software as any phone in the past few years should have. Has excellent cameras, that easily still compete with the best camera phones of 2022 (as there were minimal improvements). Also, pixel specific features such as Spam call filter, and some photo app features are quite useful. Screen is of very good quality and easily gets bright enough for daytime use.Unfortunately, the one downfall of this phone are the network issues: my unit is a Verizon phone that I got on a payment plan for the high trade in, which is terrible because I'm basically stuck with it until it's paid off over 2 years or I will lose a good amount of the trade in credits. As many have pointed out, the phone's connection to network is inconsistent and i regularly will see my signal drop to like 1 bar and suddenly have good signal again (supposedly). Also, in my work area (where verizon's coverage is spotty) I regularly struggle to get any signal at all and speeds are very slow in most of the parking area..I compared this to an older oneplus 7 pro which had significantly stronger signal everywhere and faster speeds. Google seems hesitant to offer any help other than "it may be a software issue," pretty disappointed overall that they aren't just accepting their mistake with the outdated modem and offering a better solution for many people. May just end going to a new brand soon, we'll see..

I traded my iPhone 13 Pro Max for this phone because I hated iOS. I was very happy to get back to Android. I've used the phone for about a year now and have been happy with it except for a few things. The first thing I noticed is that the Smooth Motion display absolutely destroys the battery life. When it's turned on I barely have enough battery to get through the day. When smooth motion is off I can go nearly three days on a single charge. Second, the beveled screen is really annoying. I don't know why anyone would want the edges of their video to curve off the screen, and it makes the phone difficult to handle without inadvertently touching a button or swiping the screen. It has also made it very difficult to find a screen protector, which unfortunately is ... MoreI traded my iPhone 13 Pro Max for this phone because I hated iOS. I don't know why anyone would want the edges of their video to curve off the screen, and it makes the phone difficult to handle without inadvertently touching a button or swiping the screen. It has also made it very difficult to find a screen protector, which unfortunately is necessary. The scratch resistance of the glass is good, but I quickly found out it's not perfect. There are no good glass screen protectors that work with the curved screen and I've had to settle for a clear vinyl. And finally, the reason for the three star review, after less than a year I have water damage. I have been reasonably careful with the phone, but water resistance was a major reason I bought it. I was recently taking pictures of some fish in a pond, holding the phone about 6 inches underwater. The phone is rated for 30 minutes at 1 meter, not 3 minutes at 6 inches. But the next day I noticed condensation in the lens and the touchscreen is acting up. It's been 4 days of drying out, but there's still moisture inside and I'm going to have to pay for repairs because water damage isn't covered in the 1-year warranty. It's too bad because with the exception of some minor annoyances, this has been a great phone.
The Google 6 pro is a good phone. It's display is very responsive and bright. The audio isn't bad from the speakers. The cameras are great. There are only 2 things of note that makes this phone less than perfect. Firstly, it gets hot. Not so hot you can't touch it but hotter than is comfortable. I can't imagine that it's too good for the battery. Secondly is intact the battery. The phone when not in use is very good at retaining charge but if your doing any real work on it expect it's charge to drop sharply. This is made up for by reasonably fast charging but even there it's not the quickest. My sister has the same phone and she has said that she has issues when using Google Maps in the car. The phone gets very hot, so hot that the phone complains & because she has to charge it while using it, the problems are compounded. Anyways, over all it's a great phone & the pricing is very reasonable when compared to the likes of Samsung and of course Apple. But Google needs to work on efficiencies both in the hardware and software side of things. A larger phone might allow for a bigger battery and higher heat dissipation & working on making apps like Google maps not be so resource heavy could make all the difference.
I had a Pixel 4 that I absolutely loved, so when I upgraded I went for the newer Pixel 6. Preliminarily, they removed the fingerprint sensor on the back of the Pixel 4 that made it super easy to open. Fingerprint sensor on the front...not how fingers work.Secondly, this thing fails at its utter primary purpose. That is to say, it is a terrible phone and communication device. Even though it is connected to WiFi almost 100% of the time, my texts come and go at random times. As if I do not already catch enough flak for being the only person in my friend group without an iPhone, my Pixel 6 Pro cannot seem to send or receive messages timely. Frequently, people get texts from me a week or more after they were sent. One time, it sent a CLIENT a text message at 3:30 ... MoreI had a Pixel 4 that I absolutely loved, so when I upgraded I went for the newer Pixel 6. Frequently, people get texts from me a week or more after they were sent. One time, it sent a CLIENT a text message at 3:30 a.m.With respect to phone calls, it struggles with this as well. I have watched a phone call come in and been in front of the phone, trying to answer and unable to do so. Drag button up to answer? Yeah. Keep dragging. See if it works this time. (Spoiler alert: it does not.)When it falls off the WiFi (something it does regularly), it refuses to use the cellular network THAT I PAY FOR. It takes 3-5 business days for it to recognize that it is on a network plan and then try to access that instead of the WiFi. What if this were an emergency?, I think. What if my brother is calling me because he needs bail money and he just wasted his one phone call to try to reach me on a phone that cost more than A THOUSAND DOLLARS when I bought it that I was unable to answer simply because the technology is not as good as it was when I had a Nokia in high school in 2003?The one thing I will miss about having a Google phone is the magic eraser. But, surely there is an app for that. There is no app to make your phone function as a phone. Stay away from this.
My 1st experience with a Google phone. I waited over a yr of use to write review because a percentage of faults was operator error. Now that I got majority of bugs worked out per updates & settings preferences here is what can't be fixed. Phone will not fast charge while in use. Ex. Just listening to Pod cast with no screen activity phone may charge 5-10%/hr. With all adaptive charging protocols removed. Selection of cases is very limited, most cases suffocate phone adding to the overheating issue that already exists. Can't play gms that tax CPU longer than 15mins without phone disconnecting from network cuz it goes into cool down mode. Camera lens spontaneously shattered within 10 days of ownership. Can't play gms that tax CPU longer than 15mins without phone disconnecting from network cuz it goes into cool down mode. Camera lens spontaneously shattered within 10 days of ownership. Personally I think that has sumthing to do with the over heating. It's not as delicate as a Samsung but it's not robust. I'd give it 5 on durability cuz I did drop it with silicon case on it & the corner shattered. It's still intact but the back glass is broke not screen. Bluetooth sound is suspect connected to earbuds. They had a software update that included sound amplifier but all it does is make sound unnatural & doesn't raise volume. Now I don't know if I want to give Google another chance with new Pixel or move on to another Brand that uses Android OS. Despite shattered glass over camera it's not an issue unless it in panorama mode. With that said it takes the best pics of any phone I've used. Portrait mode rivals DLR cameras. Unfortunately taking pics is a small percentage of my use. I would not recommend the Pixel 6. It's been through more than the fair share of updates & growing pains not to be 100% I feel like they released it premature. And can't fix everything with software updates.
As someone who has recently upgraded to the Google Pixel 6 Pro, I can confidently say that this phone is great. From the moment I picked it up, I was impressed by its quality feel, design and stunning 6.7-inch OLED display. But the real standout feature for me has been the camera system. As someone who loves to take photos, I love the Pixel 6 Pro's impressive 50-megapixel primary camera and 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, magic erase, and 20x zoom. The photos come out looking professional-grade, even in low light conditions. It's truly a photographer's dream. Another thing I appreciate about this phone is its great battery life. I can go all day without worrying about charging, thanks to the 5000mAh battery. Another great value for me is the Pixel 6 Pros seamless integration with Google's suite of services. As someone who uses Google Maps, Google Play Store, Google Drive, and Google Assistant on a daily basis, having everything seamlessly integrated into one device has been a game changer for me. Overall, I recommend the Google Pixel 6 Pro. It's a top-of-the-line smartphone that truly delivers on all fronts. If you're in the market for a new phone, this one is definitely worth considering.
Camera is very good although Live photos not as good as apple.Phone is unwieldy largeThe curved screen adds no added benefit, requires a worse screen protector, and makes it obnoxiously hard to press buttons at the edge of the screen. You would think they didn't test the phone at all before releasing it. More typos on this than any phone I've owned using the same keyboard. My 5 year old android had a rear fingerprint reader and face reader. This one has a blinding front fingerprint reader that is problematic and hilariously nondiscrete if you're in a dark place. My ancient android could also switch during video from front to rear cam and vice versa, the 6 pro cannot. It feels like a way better camera and memory sitting on top of a much worse experience. But the ... MoreCamera is very good although Live photos not as good as apple.Phone is unwieldy largeThe curved screen adds no added benefit, requires a worse screen protector, and makes it obnoxiously hard to press buttons at the edge of the screen. It worked fine when I booted it up at home and was on wifi. But as soon as I drove across town or state it would regularly lose signal for ATT and Verizon (I have 2 sims for it) in areas I am CERTAIN there is coverage. Would require rebooting the phone. Google this and you will find it is a known issue with some subset of the pixel phones. It is a hardware issue and calling Google about it accomplished nothing. They mention engineers are working on an update, but this has been going on since at least mid-2022. So obviously they don't care about making it right. Told me to just reboot my phone when it happens, as if that is a reasonable solution and I'm going to just power cycle my phone 50 times on a long drive and miss/drop work calls.Incredibly disappointed in google and their support. First phone I will ever have returned.
