The only sign it was not brand new was a little discoloration near the microphone and that may have been just the color of the protective screen. The phone booted up to the home screen with no data on it(like it had been tested). I factory reset it and the phone linked with my google account and Sim with no issues. I did need a double usb c cable(not included) to transfer data from my old phone (Pixel 2) to the new Pixel 6 Pro. The whole set up process was easy and the phone appears to be fully functional. The initial review of the phone itself. I bought this to replace a Pixel 7 (not a pro) that had a laundry list of problems including the dreaded spontaneously cracking rear camera lens. (Amazon accepted my return for a partial refund, Google would not honor warranty claim. ) My previous (to the Pixel 7)phone and the one I used in the interim was the Pixel 2 (love the pixel 2 all time favorite phone, just hasn't been supported since 2020, so is a little buggy, and battery life is terrible. )The Pixel 6 pro has an amazing camera set up. 4 times optical zoom and up to 20x digital zoom. That being said I recognize the specs are better than both the Pixel 7 and 2, but Im not sure how many photos I take that truly take advantage of the increased capability. All three phones were completely adequate. The processor on all three phones is faster than I am, so Im not sure I can really rate the difference, but it is plenty fast and years of updates coming. Where I am super happy, the fingerprint scanner, the pixel 7 never worked very well, (maybe 1 out of 10, and I often had to wet my thumb for biometric authentication which made it better but still maybe 5 out of 10), nothing I did made a significant improvement(no protector, w/ protector, reinput fingerprints etc. ). The pixel 2 is the best fingerprint scanner I have ever used (I really like it being placed on the rear and using my index finger. ) That said the Pixel 6 Pro has the screen thumbprint scanner like the 7, but it works 9 out of 10 times, and honestly I think the 10th time may be because I miss the spot with my thumb. So huge improvement over the 7 and I can only hope google goes back to the rear one in the future(not holding my breath)Size, its taller than the 7, it is a pro, and both the regular 6 and 7 are much larger than the 2. I really liked the 2's size 6 inches, but none of the top phones are sub 6 inches anymore, and going from the 7 to the 6 pro really hasn't changed where I can put it or how I use it. So overall not a negative factor for me, but a both 7 and 6 pro are a little big for the front pocket. My initial impressions are really good, I am pleasantly surprised with Amazons renewal service, and the price point is fantastic (46% of new cost), also it is nice to give new life to a piece of tech that otherwise may have gone to the landfill. The pixel 6 pro at least initially seems to not have any of the issues I suffered through with the 7, the fingerprint scanner works, the USB C port works consistently, hopefully no issues with the screen or camera lens, I have protectors on both and a Spigen case. Also, the pro model has a significantly better fit and finish despite being a model year older. According to the specs a 6 pro beats a 7 regular in almost every area. Amazon incentivizing using this service with extending the return window and even including the return receipt makes using this renewal service an excellent option. My phone looked brand new, I did see in the reviews that some people had some blemishes on the body. I am always going to put a case on it, I would have been ok with some minor blemishes , if everything works and the lens and screen are perfect, but everyone is different. I will update if anything changes.

The rear-mounted fingerprint scanner on the Pixel 2 was in a better, more ergonomic position, and not only worked, but worked quickly and almost always on the first try. The Pixel 6's optical in-screen sensor doesn't work most of the time.

Fast phone.

It's fast, has a large ram & rom, large screen, Bluetooth. The battery lasts almost a day, has BUT, it does NOT have a headphone jack nor a micro SD slot for extra storage for photos. I usually put the videos & photos on a DVD and some on my desktop using an adapter for the micro SD card. I thought it did but I made the mistake not the seller. Other than that I'm happy with the device. I had to get a new phone because my Motorola stylus was too slow and refused to work with some store apps and my vehicle. I have a clip on wide angle lens because this phone doesn't have one. I have a Samsung and I despise it due to the bloat ware unable to uninstall. iPhone 15 was too expensive. My other choice.

When I use my shopping app, it opens to the product just fine, but once I change size or color, I can no longer add the item to my cart. Half of my Google links wont even open, unless I сору and paste them in a messaging app and it's not just the link, because I have no issues opening them on my other devices. Both of these issues are fixed with each update, but they're only fixed temporarily and for a short period of time. One of the main reasons I was excited about owning this phone is, the long battery life. Unfortunately the battery doesn't last as long as it should. Like I stated before, I use my phone for work and I'm not even able to get in a full day's work, before I have to stop and charge it, for nearly 3 hours.Unfortunately there are more cons! I don't mind my phone having Google assistant on it, it's actually quite convenient. My issue is the assistant taking the place of what should be the power button. It took me 5 minutes to figure out that I needed to hold down the assistant button and volume up, to power off the phone, due to it over heating. Yes, this phone overheats and it overheats quickly, with simple things like reading emails or messages. I honestly hope that most of or all of these issues can be fixed, because the Google Pixel 6 Pro has a lot of potential to be a really great phone!

Great phone with a couple of caveats.

The Google 6 pro is a good phone. It's display is very responsive and bright. The audio isn't bad from the speakers. The cameras are great. There are only 2 things of note that makes this phone less than perfect. Firstly, it gets hot. Not so hot you can't touch it but hotter than is comfortable. I can't imagine that it's too good for the battery. Secondly is intact the battery. The phone when not in use is very good at retaining charge but if your doing any real work on it expect it's charge to drop sharply. This is made up for by reasonably fast charging but even there it's not the quickest. My sister has the same phone and she has said that she has issues when using Google Maps in the car. Now that I got majority of bugs worked out per updates & settings preferences here is what can't be fixed. Phone will not fast charge while in use. Ex. Just listening to Pod cast with no screen activity phone may charge 5-10%/hr. With all adaptive charging protocols removed. Selection of cases is very limited, most cases suffocate phone adding to the overheating issue that already exists. Can't play gms that tax CPU longer than 15mins without phone disconnecting from network cuz it goes into cool down mode. Camera lens spontaneously shattered within 10 days of ownership. I'd give it 5 on durability cuz I did drop it with silicon case on it & the corner shattered. It's still intact but the back glass is broke not screen. Bluetooth sound is suspect connected to earbuds. They had a software update that included sound amplifier but all it does is make sound unnatural & doesn't raise volume. Now I don't know if I want to give Google another chance with new Pixel or move on to another Brand that uses Android OS. Despite shattered glass over camera it's not an issue unless it in panorama mode. With that said it takes the best pics of any phone I've used. Portrait mode rivals DLR cameras. Unfortunately taking pics is a small percentage of my use. I would not recommend the Pixel 6. It's been through more than the fair share of updates & growing pains not to be 100% I feel like they released it premature. And can't fix everything with software updates.

This was my first Google Pixel phone, having been a Galaxy person my whole cellphone life, and I can see why so many people are making the change. Right out of the box, the phone looks great. The sleek and smooth glass on the front and back feel good in your hand, but I'd definitely recommend a case to prevent dropping it. The USB-C connection cord made data transfer simple and quick. The screen is bright and crystal clear which makes the colors really look crisp. The fingerprint reader works as well if not better than my old Galaxy phones but it does occasionally have trouble picking it up on the first try. The battery life is decent, lasts me most of the day on my busiest days, outperforming my old phone by about 25 percent. There is no headphone jack, which I do personally miss, however that seems to be the way all phones are nowadays and just something I'll have to get used to. Also not having expandable memory is a bit of a bummer, so if you like to download a lot or like to record/photograph you might have to lose something to accommodate your needs. The biggest positive this phone has though, is it's camera. The powerful camera takes some of the most beautiful pictures I've ever taken with a phone. The Pixel also has some of the best included editing tools on the market. Motion Mode is fun to play with, and the 20x zoom is impressive. My favorite is the Magic Eraser that can save a great photo by eliminating a pesky problem with ease. Video is also great, allowing you the ability to record live in 4k, looking incredible. There are also built-in tools for video as well, which help to lessen background noise and put more emphasis on the person being recorded so they sound clear even while walking down a busy street. All around one of the best camera experiences I've had. Honestly couldn't be happier with my first exposure to the Pixel world, with the very minor issues I've had being mostly personal preference things I can easily look past.

Worst phone I've ever had!

This is the worst phone I've ever had! I will be never purchase another Google product again. I traded in a Pixel 2 XL which I loved and bought this peice of junk as an upgrade. It is anything but! It gets spotty service and connectivity at best. I very seldom have more than 2 bars and I'm lucky to get that. I have this issue no matter where I am. In addition, the 5g coverage is very sporadic. These issue continue to occur even when others around me have great reception. I've tried everything thing Google and Verizon suggested to remedy this to no avail. I've read through the Google and Verizon forums and there are many, many, many complaints about the same issue. Yet neither Google has done anything to resolve the problem. I am very disappointed.
