But of the three, Gordon's would actually be my second choice, ahead of Tanqueray. I think the flavor of Gordon's is at least as good as Tanquray, and the extreme value also can't be ignored. In the end, both Tanqueray and Gordon's are produced by Diageo, and you can never go wrong with any of the three brands. It just seems that Tanqueray has more of an upscale image, at least in the USA, especially compared to Gordon's. But it's ultimately the liquid that counts most, first and foremost. In the US, the main benefit of Tanqueray is that it's bottled at 47.3% ABV, while Gordon's is at the standard 40% ABV. The higher alcohol stands up better to dilution in cocktails, but Gordon's proof is still perfectly fine. In a number of countries, gins and spirits are bottled at 37.5% ABV, so it could be worse. I think one of the reasons that Gordon's is an even better value in the USA than Tanqueray or Beefeater is that Gordon's is actually produced in Canada for the US market, while Beefeater and Tanqueray are imported from the UK. But it definitely doesn't seem to affect the quality of Gordon's at all. Bottom line, whether you're looking for the best value gin or just a great gin in general, don't hesitate to pick up a bottle of Gordon's. It's worth way more than it's price, and you will not be disappointed.

But out of the three, Tanqueray would be my first choice, followed by Gordon's. Tanquray's flavor is, in my opinion, at least as good as Gordon's, and you can't overlook the extraordinary value. In the end, Diageo produces both Tanqueray and Gordon's, and you can never go wrong with any of the three names. Simply said, Tanqueray seems to have a more premium reputation than Gordon's, at least in the USA. But in the end, the liquid is what really matters the most. Tanqueray's key advantage over Gordon's in the US is that Tanqueray is bottled at a higher alcohol content than Gordon's, which is typically 40%. Although Gordon's proof is still great, the higher alcohol holds up better to dilution in cocktails. It might be worse because gins and spirits are typically bottled at 37.5% ABV in a number of nations. Cheapest gin on the market

Gordon is expensive, so I never actually drank it. My go-to drinks were often Sapphire or Tanqueray, but I picked up a bottle of Gordon's on a whim after seeing it at a friend's house, where they frequently keep fine booze on hand. It is a wonderfully smooth gin, I have to admit. I like it a lot, and it's considerably less expensive than the other two. Even if it doesn't contain as much alcohol, does anyone really drink gin to become wasted? The 'poor budget' of this one should not influence you. It's a wonderful product that drinks easily even with a large pour.

Classic English Gin

I don't drink a lot of gin but I enjoy an occasional martini or gimlet. I've tried higher priced gins and Spirits Direct brands. Gordon's has been around forever. It's an excellent well brand but when I started to read the other reviews and saw the price, I decided to try it. That was about 4 or 5 bottles ago and now this is my go to "well" gin for my home bar. It's dry with excellent botanicals. Try an Elderflower Gin Gimlet. Wonderful and refreshing. I will continue to purchase Gordon's unless or until something better in taste and price comes along.

Good Flavor and Affordable

My husband read about Gin and Milk in a Jack London novel and tried it. It's is now his evening therapy but I enjoy a Gin and Cranberry juice daily so 'twixt the two of us, we do our fair share of tibbiling. Gordon's has great flavor, not too strong on the juniper berries, and is affordable. I'm not sure our palettes are sophisticated enough to be able to appreciate a higher-end gin so Gordon's is the perfect compromise. PS - my husband uses Unsweetened Almond Milk, Vanilla flavor, to mix with the gin. It gives the gin that milky flavor without the calories or fat and he gets a good dose of calcium with every mix. We're not Spring chickens anymore so the extra boost of calcium is good for his bones.

I still keep a big jug of Beefeater for special occasions, but I find Gordon's very close in flavor and great for my regular evening libation. I have tried many different gins in the same price range as Beefeater, such as Bombay, Tanqueray, etc., as well as the premiums of those brands and others, but I find most a little too smooth/lacking in flavor. I have a wealthy doctor friend who can afford to drink any gin he wants any time His bar is stocked with a number of better brands of gin, including some ultra-premiums. I am used to finding a nice G & T, gin and tonic, available everywhere because I have traveled the U.K. a lot. And Gordon's is typically the pour; when I was younger, I liked Tanqueray, which makes sense because Gordon's is the distiller of Tanqueray. And a few years later, I was introduced to Hendrick's by a flawless bartender. However, the higher proofs are intolerable for me, thus Gordon's is the best. Likewise poetically? There is something about a Martini when the dining and dancing start, and to be honest, I don't think it's the vermouth—I'm thinking maybe it's the gin. There is something about a tingle that is quite delightful in a yellow, mellow Martini; I wish I had one right now.

The in house gin

Blind taste tests speak for themselves. This gin never ceases to astound me with its performance in double-blind tasting testing. You can also do your research to see that this gin is by far the finest value, but in my personal experience, I believe it to be among the best. I adore the combination of citrus, juniper, and spices. Don't get me wrong; I still use Captive Big or Bluewater Halcyon when I need a big, powerful gin, but this is the best low- or even middle-shelf gin I've ever had, and I serve it with pride in my martini. It consistently outperforms even some top-shelf gins.
