I bought this to mount on 3m high beam.It comes with. 1.5m long control cableUseless!!If it had a control cable at least the same length as it’s lifting height capacity I wouldn’t have returned it.

Went to bunnings, bought the winch, bolts strap's the lot. got home spent the arvo installing onto my garage roof beams. got excited and gave it a dry test, went up but not down. All it does is Click. When you get it, the cable is already wound right in so I was unable to do too much in case it locked with the stop arm. Now i have to take it all back down to return it. Don't like reading all winches are load tested, so why is mine not working?? Plus I noticed that all the boxes on display were open and roughly taped up, I sometimes wonder if they are broken and returned and just put back on the shelf as apart from no reverse a spring looks like it has been broken or stretched also the pulley and nuts and bolts were just laying in the bottom of the box. A surprisingly high quality product for a very reasonable price! I’d originally been looking at ratchet chain-block hoists. But the electric hoist was a far more convenient user friendly option for only about $20 higher price. It was easy to install and even easier to operate. The only unexpected issue was that it is meant to be installed on a 40mm square tube, not attached by more usual brackets or fittings. But as I already had 40mm tubing, it wasn’t a problem. But the fitting instructions should be more clearly indicated.
The unit was a gift, when I picked the unit up the package was totally distroyed and still wet.
This winch has worked very well in a DIY capacity but as soon as we received the first rain shower the controller filled up with water and burned out, the product should come with a warning for indoor use only.
great for my workshop, helps me move around steel when im fabricating and welding
