Despite mid critical reception, I found myself highly enjoying Gotham Knights past the bugs (which at my current time of playing have more or less been fixed). While gameplay departs from the Arkham series in a lot of ways, the combat still feels punchy, with every attack carrying a lot of weight and making it feel really good to take on the variety of enemies the game throws at you. It also has a more RPG-centric leveling system, where you not only add new abilities with each level increase, but you unlock new gear and customization for said gear that further increases your power and style. I admit, I love putting on new costumes for the characters, and unlike other RPGs I seldom find styles I hate on the characters. I admit, I love putting on new costumes for the characters, and unlike other RPGs I seldom find styles I hate on the characters. Although the game does include a transmog system, which esentially allows you to place any complete outfit over your character should the gear you have not be to your tastes. To go back to gameplay, and in larger part the story, you play as one of the four titular heroes seen on the cover as you try to investigate the mystery behind Batman's death. When it comes to investigation, I personally feel it's better than the Arkham series. Where in those games you would scan an important item and Batman would explain why it was important before going back to the game, here you have to scan multiple items of interest, and then piece together which ones will continue the game. It apes a bit off the Sherlock Holmes games in that sense, but it isn't as challenging as those games, with the answer being fairly straightforward. Aside from this main story, there are also plenty of sidequests involving a handful of Batman's rogues gallery, and the storylines here are just as engaging as the main game. Personally, if they have plans for DLC, a lot could be done here with updates including new villains to tackle in Batman's absence. Overall, I've so far enjoyed my time with this game. The story is engaging, sidequests are fun, even maneuvering through the open world is a treat, and every character lpays differently amongst themselves so it provides a lot of variety and replayability. And with the inclusion of co-op, I would definitely recommend this game, despite what few shortcomings it does have.

Crafting and leveling up are new to this franchise and multiplayer / group challenge missions; other than that it plays like the Arkham games, and you do the same sorts of things. The story is mainly about the Court of Owls, probably the weakest mix of villians / boss fights / overall story out of all the games in the franchise. Not as good as past games in this franchise, but still a compitant open world action game.If you love the franchise or if this is your first game in the franchise, go for it, otherwise it's probably skippable for most.

I bought this game after reading/watching reviews and almost didn't buy it. I decided to buy it anyways and have been really enjoying it so far. I had to stop myself from comparing it to the recent Arkham Batman games before I could enjoy it for what it is. After i stopped comparing it to those games and broke the muscle memory of countering attacks instead of dodging i began to enjoy the combat a lot more. Keep in mind none of these playable characters are a 1:1 replacement for Batman. Im not sure if it was on purpose but I like the idea that all the sidekicks have bits and pieces of what Batman could do and need to reley on eachother to make up for individual shortcomings. If you're looking for a good story (that follows the comics pretty faithfully) and some interesting combat this is a great game. I do not mean to say this game doesnt have its faults because it certainly does. The RPG elements will keep you playing this game but can be a bit grindy after awhile and the enemies become damage sponges in higher levels. I'm hopeful this game gets supported after launch with updates and new features but for now running around Gotham (especially with a co-op buddy) is just plain fun.

Like the title says don’t listen to all the bad reviews put out for this game. Yes it not the best Batman game around but then it wasn’t meant to be like the Arkham games. This was a new take and in my eyes they’ve nailed it. I love playing with each of the new hero’s they all play slightly differently. The story has also so far been really good so looking forward to seeing how this ends. Trust me if you like Batman and the Arkham games then you’ll like this.
I didn’t want this item, I’m not computer savvy lol, I actually thought this was the Xbox series x console. Only after seeing what I had purchased I realized it wasn’t. I couldn’t find anything on how to return and get my money back. Since I did find an Xbox series x console for my son. He’s now wanting this game so I guess I’m keeping it . Ty
When I found out this was a Warner Brother's game I didn't hesitate to buy it. I had played others and loved them. I even saw reviews giving Gotham Knights 5/10... seriously? It's a 7.5 or 8 out of 10 in my opinion. Great story, fantastic graphics, especially travelling around Gotham (amazing detail) and the battle system is both easy and fun.
Not sure why everyone keeps comparing this to Arkham. Its not an Arkham game and it never pretended to be. Just a solid action game following the Batfamily of characters. Great story too. I've had a few bugs but nothing gamebreaking and I've had no performance issues and I'm 50 hrs in. Loving this!
The photo realistic design of the characters does not blend into the comic book-like environment, making the game an eye-sore.Combat is a flurry of button-mashing. Doing parkour across the city is painful due to the lack of efficiency in mechanics; the game has a hard time locking the characters feet or hands onto the surrounding environment. Add this with the poor optimisation (struggles to keep its head around 24fps) for PS5 and it makes it not fun to play. The physics of the motorbike (main form of transport) are not considered and it feels extremely boring to travel from place to place on it.This version of Gotham city does not commit to an aesthetic like Arkham Knight does. Dialogue was written by one of those A.I.s that writes Harry Potter passages based off getting a computer to read every Harry Potter book. The main characters are based off the ninja turtles and use absolutely no mythos from the comics that actually makes them interesting and unique. Just cookie cutter writing. Not an Arkham Knight fan but it’s probably the best source of comparison. Arkham Knight does everything this game does but way better and more. This game doesn’t achieve anything new. An effortless cash grab. I’ve played this game for 10 hours now and I wish I hadn’t bought it. Just wait for Suicide Squad
Other than the flew technical and optimization issues (which game HASN'T had any?) Gotham Knights is a hidden gem of a newly formatted Open World game that lets you taylor your playstyle according to your preferred hero.A game putting out 4K/30 with Ray Tracing is a technical feat for a $500 console. If you passed on this game because it doesn't have a performance mode, you're missing out. Also, if you've been using 60fps modes on game like HFW, I feel sorry for your eyes having to play a game in that blurry mess.It isn't perfect, but it's a pretty good game.
I bought this product listed as “new” off the Best Buy website and I received what is in the pictures on my front step (no over-shipper). $300 for a mutilated “collectors” package. Also I have to imagine this was a return from someone else as I opened the box and the art book was also damaged. I contacted Best Buy costumer service but they did not help me. Also, looking at the minimal contents there is not enough in the box to make it worth $300. A statue, game, art book, and some random junk. Making matters worse mine came damaged. Buyer beware!
