Grado SR325x are an upgrade from the SR325e. Wonderfully musical with all genres of music, with detailed recovery of the music and a wide sound-stage, revealing timbre in the voices and music you may not have heard before at this price range. The major upgrade aspect I hear is a more affirmative bass in the relatively neutral balanced presentation. These Grado headphones deliver quality of sound equal to headphones priced much more expensively. It must be said if this is your first venture into Grado, and your budget is limited, the cheaper Grado SR80x may be all that you need, the difference in sound is marginal but the SR325x sound is certainly well worth it if you have the budget and it has a higher-quality cable. SR325x is an on-ear headphone and is comfortable for shorter (eg. 60 minute) listening sessions, but not as comfortable for very long listening sessions as other brand over-ear headphones that are in the same price range such as some Beyerdynamic, AKG and Sennheiser. At 32-38 ohms it plays well from an iPhone, but the nondetachable cable has no microphone and at 200cm is too long for portable use. The sound leaking from the open-back earpieces means these headphones are not suitable for use on public transport or in an open-office, the sound would annoy nearby people.

SR325X : My first go with Grado. I was curious about the brightness of the sound that I've read about. I've moved across from closed-back headphones which were fine, but always felt a bit isolated and stifling - which is sensible enough as they are enclosed. The Grados are a revelation. The sound feels huge. I can see what people mean about the mid range pop - but I'm currently listening to ACDC live at the River Plate and it's sounding breathtaking. I've seen ACDC live twice at Hampdon, and listened to them on many stereos (including pretty nice Monitor Audio Bronze/Audiolab setup). Simply NOTHING has come anywhere close to reproducing the Being There feeling of the band live as these 325x Grado through Dragonfly Cobalt DAC. It gave me enough of a nostalgic flashback to actually make me cry. So don't do that if testing them in a shop.I also don't hear anything much missing from the Bass. It's there in abundance with a really nice attack. Get Lucky by Daft Punk still sounds great, and the noodly guitar really pops out too.So I'm really very pleased indeed - it's huge upgrade in sound quality from AKG K371.Also, Sheffield staff were really helpful letting me try a different Grado model for size and saying I could get a refund if I didn't like this model once it was delivered. Thanks for great service (no surprise from Richer Sounds).

Did my research on headphones, Hifi Choice, What Hifi and Internet review sites... Decided on Grado SR325x.Visited my local Richersounds in Watford got good advice regarding the Grado sound. Listened to the SR80x which the staff connected to an Arcam that allowed me to stream music and listen to these.. they were very good and I enjoyed the sound. Ordered their big brother, sonically, which arrived a couple of days later... Listening to them at home, if I thought the SR80x was good these are in a different league.. I can see why they are so highly praised and recommended. WOW.. but you need to hear these for yourself. You will not be disappointed. Remember they are on ear, open backed but Enjoy the music.

These are the Best headphones i have ever listened to (other than the Stax SR-L700, which i had the privilege of trying at my local dealer, but they cost many times what these do). The bottom end is weaker than i would have liked so I wouldn't recommend listening to Timbaland through them, iIwould have preferred detachable and cables and the plastics could be a better quality but that is where my complaints end. Highs and mids are nothing short of divine! Even when plugged straight into my iPod Touch, all any instruments on all decently recorded tracks are crisp, clean, clear, and smooth. Vocals are top notch as well.Instrument separation and imaging are fantastic. Even on the stock pads these have a massive soundstage. Stevie wonder, R.E.M. and Fleetwood Mac all sound better than ever. The only people who wouldn't love these are bassheads
I had never heard of Grado before until I bought a vintage Denon turntable that had a Grado moving iron phono cartridge on it. I was so impressed with this cartridge that I did some Grado research. My wife recently bought me the Grado SR325x headphones, and I am over the moon impressed with their awesome music reproduction! On my preamp phono stage, through my preamp Bluetooth from my iPhone, and directly out of my iPhone, these headphones exceeded my expectations my a country mile! Some reviews claimed lack of bass response, but I beg to differ. I am a musician of over 45 years, and have experienced a lot of audio equipment. These headphones will not disappoint. By the way, my home audio system employs no EQ whatsoever.
I bought these a short while ago and am very pleased with the sound quality. Stereo imaging, transparency and sound stage excellent for the price. However (there always is something) the comfort is not ideal. This is a compound of the less than cosseting foa.m on the ears plus the narrowish and unpadded headband. The latter can be addressed by somewhat expensive after market headband padding but the former is I understand more of a challenge as moving the ear to headphone distance adversely affects the sound quality. Hmmm.As with most plug in headphones, these sound far better than wireless ones (and are likely to last much better) but they do only come with a 2m lead and 3.5mm male plug (+ 6.25mm adaptor) so not great for most. I ended up buying the excellent Audiquest 5m extension lead to deal with this.In summary, if you listen for say an hour or so, then great, but if you want to site down with them on for an evening then you may be better served looking elsewhere. A shame as other than that they are great headphones.
Bought the SR80x a few years back and loved it so much I thought I'd get the SR325x as well. The sound on the 325x is amazing, I love how it sounds when listening to instrument-heavy tracks as well as vocals. The bass on this is a lot stronger compared to the 80x as well, and I can definitely hear the improvement between the two models. My only small complaint is that the grip force and pads are a bit tight/hard and need some adjustment, but it's worth it for the sound it delivers. Definitely try out the range first before buying, but I was familiar with the sound beforehand and so I didn't think it as necessary to do this before deciding to purchase these cans. Would definitely recommend!
After years of using a pair of the original Grado SR80 headphones I fancied an upgrade to the SR325X and oh boy they are great! They have the same Grado sound profile but with buckets of extra both in the low end and a more controlled treble range.Through the iFI Audio Go Bar portable DAC streaming high Res files via Tidal HiFi+ the soundsage is open and detailed like nothing I have heard before.Bluetooth headphones are just not in the same league, wired headphones most definitely have their place in 2023!
I first had a pair of SR80e nearly 10 years ago and loved their musicality and entertaining sound. After a peroid of using IEMs I decided to return to headphones and Grado was the obvious choice. I tried a pair of SR225x and they were disappointing - even after a few days use they just lacked the sparkle I expected. As a VIP member the jump to the SR325x was not too big and I'm so glad I made the choice, as they're better in every way. Straight out of the box they have the signature Grado sound but also manage to sound refined. Comfortwise, I prefer the traditional headband over the padded type on the SR225 and being aluminium they feel better made too. It's just a shame that Grado no longer make their own case as I had with the SR80e.
I bought this about 9 months ago from the Exeter branch after reviewing alongside the Sennheiser HD560 and HiFiman Sundara. I thought I'd walk away with the Sundara after reading and listening to countless reviews however it just sounded so flat when compared to the Grado. The Grado had a sound slightly warm side of neutral with great bass and dynamism although it was the least comfortable of the 3 it was the exciting sound that won me over.I thought I would get used to the ear pads but couldn't listen to them for long so found some replacement pads which helped at the expense of some sonic capability. It may be very robust but can not easily be replaced although a reasonable proportion of owners have replaced the standard cable. I do not understand why the other reviews here do not mention the frustrating standard cable which for me spoils what is a 5 star sounding pair of headphones. I have had to buy a more comfortable headphone and chose the AKG DT900X which is a good match sonically but has earpads like down pillowcases in comparison and a choice of 2 detachable cables with no memory. The Grados rarely get used now.
