I purchased it on a whim sale in December, not really sure of what to expect. Definitely worth the buy. It plays pretty well on xBox 360 (non-slim) with very little lag. The story is great, and full of psychotic comedy and hilarious moments. They finally managed to fix the driving too. No more accelerating into a brick wall because you sneezed on the control stick. Granted, the cops will still shoot at you if you so much as bump into one on the street (seriously, you could shoot somebody in the middle of nowhere with no witnesses, no sound escape, and no possibility of ever being caught, then shortly thereafter be run over by a cop car or landed on by a police helicopter). You'll seriously enjoy robbing everything from high-end stores to mini-marts to people on the ... MoreI purchased it on a whim sale in December, not really sure of what to expect. When it's all running smoothly, it's just what you'd expect from a game in the GTA series. The missions, the funny one liners, violence etc, the same gameplay we've come to expect. I love the multi character feature and I loved the map last time we saw it in San Andreas. My issue is I've been using an XBOX 360 Elite, non slim. It has this really frustrating bug that when I get near one particular safehouse, it crashes the whole game and the Rockstar logo comes back up and it reboots itself. To rectify it, I deleted all the install files (as you need to install the game from one disc before you can play it), and reinstalled it which takes quite a while. It worked until yesterday and it's started doing it again today. So this is surprisingly the hardest review I've had to do for a long time. It's easy to jump on the bandwagon and just say GTA V is the greatest game ever, but it isn't without its flaws. Not saying its not a great game, but perfect, is is far from. For starters the story is very good and it is quite long, but being forced into side missions and the linearity of it can get boring, although the main missions can more than make up for this. The graphics are pretty much at the peak of what the consoles are capable of and they look amazing for the most part, up close they still show a little bit blurry, but they've done well with the performance of the hardware. The physics engine is really in depth but it can be times a little overdone. For example the cars have damage from individual panels, glass, tyres, axels, rims, suspension, engine, transmission and brakes, nearing simulation levels. But if you try to climb something that's just outside of your limits (a non-climbable object, a fence thats slightly too high, a bank thats just a little too steep, etc.) you'll find yourself ragdolling unrealistically. The AI can be really bad as vehicles will randomly change lanes and ram you off, or into things. The police seem to have vector aim at all times as they move to your exact location even when they don't know where you are, and they will even change course to follow you even if they don't know you have changed direction (you can see them do it on the mini map), they shoot directly at you even if you're behind cover, in fact the easiest way to avoid them is to move off road because cops are inclined not to leave the road unless they have you in line of sight, making it near impossible to escape when helicopters chase you.The amount of content in this game is very high with (according to the wiki) over 250 vehicles, with more to come via DLC. Weapons are customisable to an extent: (extended clip, flashlight, suppressor, scope, tints). Vehicles are also customisable: (armour, bodykit parts, brakes, engine, exhaust, suspension, etc.). You can make investments such as the share market, and buying properties for extra cash. There are also a bunch of mini games and collectables to keep you occupied for a while. The online mode works okay but the unnecessary, unskippable tutorial is a real pain. Also as you start out, you will find yourself at a major disadvantage against others who have massive weapon and armour advantages (e.g. They have advanced rifles with scopes and full body armour, you have a pistol and no armour, well balanced Rockstar...). You create your online character from scratch with appearance, base stats, outfit, etc. Rockstar have stated that heists and other content (Custom game creation, vehicles, weapons, mini missions, etc.) will come for GTA online as both free and paid DLC at a later date. All and all it's a good game and worth playing even if only for the single player story, but repetism and little glitches can at times ruin the experience.

The look of Los Santos city in GTA: Grand Theft Auto V (5) will leave you in awe. In terms of playability; driving, fighting, and shooting have improved for the better and feels right. Franklin, Michael, and Trevor have their own additional special ability, which is a nice feature in the game play. There are some laughable moments moments in the cut scenes and recognisable stunts from classic action films. When the online game play is activated after next week, it will be even more endless fun as there is so much you can do. You can see where the £170 million was spent to develop this amazing game. All the side activities away from the main missions have been implemented well in the game. Grand Theft Auto V - Xbox 360 is a very good game that has tons of content within it. The area that you can explore within the game is larger than all the other previous Grand Theft Auto games combined. The game centers around three characters Michael, Trevor, and Franklin. The game allows you to eventually jump between the characters and do missions that are exclusively tied to that character's storyline. The game is dense and looks beautiful. You will definitely get your money's worth with this game. You can probably put in over a 100 hours of gameplay if you want to. There is so much that you can do within the game, for example you can go to a movie theater within the game and watch a short movie about a british robot who curses. If you or the person you're giving this game want to develop their dark side to an exponential level, then this is the game for you. When I tried to actually describe the horrible features of this game, Walmart redflagged my review for "Sensitive language in the Write Your Product Review field." So I'll "watch my language" as I attempt to describe what you're getting in this game.If pulling teeth out of someone's mouth with pliers is something you think is a great way to spend an afternoon, along with every other kind of painful and degrading action that one evil human could act out on another, then this is the game for you! Very, VERY DISSAPOINTED. The game came today, my 10 yr old son WAS SO EXCITED he was actually jumping up and down crying tears of happiness. THE GAME DOES NOT WORK, IT WAS GREAT AT PROVIDING ME STATUS CODES AS TO THE PROBLEM, WHATEVER THEY MEAN AND ALSO STATED THE DISC IS UNREADABLE. I had him check another game on his xbox 360, they all work so it's NOT OUR SYSTEM. I am disappointed and UPSET as I put alot of time and effort into this purchas as well as many others. I am sick of returning things FROM WALMART. VERY VERY DISSAPOINTED IN WALMART. THE QUALITY IS NOT THERE ANYMORE.
GTA V continues to delight, shock and amaze like no other series of games. Vice City was my introduction to the Grand Theft Auto franchise, I loved the size of the map, the soundtrack, the freedom to do pretty much whatever you want and of course the driving. All of those excellent qualities are present in GTA V though I can't help but feel some of the stats you could build up, like in San Andreas, have been lost. There are literally about five buildings you can enter, the rest are pure decoration which is a great shame. The Driving is intuitive and realistic enough to please both arcade and simulator fans alike. You will have to look to another review for that. There are some other things that have really bothered me, particularly the amount of heavy swearing and the strong bloody violence. There is one mission where you have to torture someone by either pulling teeth, electrocution, smashing them in the groin with a wrench and other such things. You can feel their heartbeat as the controller vibrates, all in all, an extremely uncomfortable experience.Other than those gripes, a really excellent game with plenty of content and enough to keep you coming back for more.
First things first, GTA: Grand Theft Auto V is a fantastic game. The missions are great fun and there is so much to do it hurts your head just thinking about it. From golf, to diving, exploring wide open areas, hunting animals to watching movies. I really like the character change system where you play as 2 or more characters during a mission. However, there is major flaw, the driving mechanics. Cars handle like a bad need for speed game. Gone is the heavy feeling, hand braking and sliding round corners feel of GTA 4. What you get instead are jerky, badly responsive cars that seem to hover around. No realistic acceleration or deceleration. When you ram other vehicles you either bounce off or stick - and frequently do get stuck between vehicles in a pile up. You ... MoreFirst things first, GTA: Grand Theft Auto V is a fantastic game. No realistic acceleration or deceleration. When you ram other vehicles you either bounce off or stick - and frequently do get stuck between vehicles in a pile up. You can't force your way out, even if in a lorry. It's ridiculous. As driving is the main part of this game, it basically ruins it. I've been playing 3 days solid now and I'm bored. Rampaging and exploring are what I like best about GTA games, but because the driving mechanics are so awful, it's just no fun. Also the damage is just stupid. A head on crash at full speed hardly dents the cars. So over all, a great game but I won't be playing this in 4 weeks time, let alone 4 years time like GTA4. I'm very disappointed - how could Rockstar have messed up the most important aspect of the game? Is this why it was delayed 6 months?
I have played GTA games in the past, back in the days when I had a PS2, I also put a few hours into GTA IV, but it was never a game that held my attention really. I found GTA IV pretty boring if im honest!! So I wasnt sure whether I should get GTA V or not, I waited until after release, read several reviews (ign, guardian etc) and watched a couple of videos on youtube before purchasing it, and even then I only purchased it because I had some vouchers to spend!! All I can say is Im glad I bought it, Im just annoyed at myself that I didnt buy it sooner!! From the moment I loaded the disc into my xbox 360 I was drawn into the story of the Los Santos world. There are 3 playable characters, Micheal, Franklin and Trevor. Ah, Trevor, he is by fair my most favourite one to play, I feel like I play differently with each character, and with Trevor it normally involves some sort of mayhem!! The graphics are very good, the driving is excellent (which is a good thing as you do alot of it), the shooting is also much better than I remember from the previous games I have played. I wont spoil anything by mentioning any of the story, or anything that happens in the game, as I found the experience of playing the game much better because I didnt know anything about the story. And I cant stand reviews that tell you the whole story, thats not what reviews are about!!! This is, without doubt, the best game I have played ever, its sooooo addictive. The way the game draws you into the story and makes you part of it, it makes you feel sorry for the characters, it makes you feel good when you pull off a heist with your crew, it provides stunning visuals whether you are flying a plane, sitting on top of a skyscraper, on top of a mountain, drifting about in a blimp, diving in the sea or lake, driving a jeep around the mountains or a sports car along the winding roads, or whether you are just running around shooting people waiting for the cops to turn up so you can have a shoot out. I have cancelled my pre order of battlefield 4 as I honestly dont think I will play it while I still have this game to play, its that addictive!! Rockstar have produced a brilliant game here, go out and buy it, it hasn't broken almost all of the game records from being an ok game, its broken them because its the best game to be launched so far, ever.
