Go back to 3 of the most iconic cities in the gaming world with Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy for PlayStation 4. It all starts in Grand Theft Auto III and Liberty City, where any car is for the taking as you dive into the criminal underworld. Then it's time to go retro in the 1980's-themed Vice City, following Tommy Vercetti's story of betrayal and revenge. And if that wasn't enough, jump forward to the 90's and San Andreas, and go on Carl 'CJ' Johnson's journey to save his family after he's framed for murder. Who says crime doesn't pay?

Firstly the delivery was fast, I got it the following day which was a surprise and ShopTo were great throughout the process. No problems there. As for the games, I grew up playing the older GTA games so a glossy image of what the trilogy games look like will never be met. The games are a product of their time and you can see the making of GTA V in each one of the trilogy. We are spoiled for well developed adventure and action games with great cover mechanics, animations, shooting systems and sound tracks for every minute of play, which make the trilogy feel awkward and frustrating in moments.Despite this, I enjoy playing them. It's probably the nostalgia taking over but playing through San Andreas particularly, but the simplicity in play and story with a present ... MoreFirstly the delivery was fast, I got it the following day which was a surprise and ShopTo were great throughout the process. The "Defective" edition of the game really ruins the legacy set forth by the originals. The game wouldnt even properly launch/install the first time I tried playing it. Oh and gotta love the removed songs from certain stations in VC/SA. I ended up ditching the Defective edition entirely and i stead picked up the original day 1 releases on PC. They crossed a line when they thought releasing San andreas without "Runnin' down a dream" and calling it "the definitive edition" was appropriate. Not worth $69, not worth the $30 + tax I paid. Consider dusting off the old PS2 if you really want to play these games the way the devs intended you to play them

I specifically waited after what seemed to be a poorly reviewed and sloppy launch, full of glitches. Picked this up a few months back and it's a ton of fun. A high gloss version of the old games to scratch that nostalgic itch.

I really did enjoy this even despite all of the issues with bugs from the original version. The graphics do look as they really should considering the type of upgrade that this game delivers, enhancements are what Rockstar were going for and I can really say this counts as a definitive edition. Five stars from me, playing on PS5, enjoying it a lot.
GTA 3 is my #6 top game of all time! This is the game that started it all in 3d open world play. The game is really fun to go back to after many years away from it. It still holds up in 2021 as a playable experience. The missions are fun- and many are pretty short at the beginning. Several missions are pretty challenging. Overall it’s great to cause havoc in Liberty City! The Definitive Edition has taken some hits for its initial state. I played it after patches- and I only saw one floating car & one floating lamp post. There were also some pretty wild looking pedestrians in the game. There were no other glitches that I experienced. I’m glad I bought this and played it again. I will definitely play it again sometime in the future.GTA Vice City Definitive Edition- ... MoreGTA 3 is my #6 top game of all time! This game is really my favorite GTA game. It’s aesthetics of the 1980s Miami are outstanding. It has my favorite soundtrack of any game ever. It also has perhaps the best voice cast of all time. It’s been a long time since I played it. Something that stood out is that the map is really quite small compared to today’s open world games. I can see why this was originally an expansion for GTA 3. But I love playing as Tommy Versetti. I really hope the rumors are true that GTA 6 might be partly set back in Vice City. I really didn’t see any glitches in the Definitive Edition- except some wild looking pedestrians. The only thing I don’t like about it is that you have to meet certain requirements to open up the last mission. I don’t like to have to grind just to be able to finish a game. Overall, it was a great experience to go back to. Definitely still enjoyable in 2021. I will play it again sometime in the future.
I had read bad reviews about this when it first came out so held off. Read reviews based on a year later and I decied to buy it, Found this cheap 3 games for 16 bargain., Ok some of the graphics are still blocky but that is to be expected considering where this game came, i.e. the age etc. It plays well, the controls feel much better than the original. It feels better playing the game and using R1 to drive etc. I am already 1/3 of the way through the game and I am really enjoying playing it. The music is great, the chat from the npc's is hillarious. So glad I finally decided to get this game a year after release. If your a fan of the original 3 get this. Each game improved slightly with graphics etc. San Andreas being the one I amost looking forward to playing again ... MoreI had read bad reviews about this when it first came out so held off. I don't know whether I'm just mellowing as I get older but I love this collection. They could have just updated the controls and I would have been happy. These are not new games, they feel dated, I'm just grateful to be able to play them on modern hardware. If you want a nostalgia trip then go for it cannot recommend it enough, if you want to pick holes in every glitch or wonky texture or poor character model then go for it. The game has crashed twice on me, but that's no more than what every other game has done in the last 10 years. This game has been patched recently, I think it runs great, the odd bit of slow down, vastly improved load times compared to the slog it was on PS2. Nobody releases a compete game anymore, why did anyone expect anything else. If you ... MoreI don't know whether I'm just mellowing as I get older but I love this collection. Like others have said it's ok nothing to go wild about, but its nice to play to pass the time if you have nothing else better to do. Remember its game is a blast from the past so to speak. I know most of you love GTA 4 and 5 because of the cool graphics, but this is not like that. This is clearly a game to just reminisce again do not go into this with high expectations.
I only bought this since I had a bonus offer expiring from Best Buy. It’s ok. It’s the game I remember playing when I was younger but there are still bugs after the most recent patch. Is July 2022 and I wouldn’t have paid $50 for this if I didn’t have a $50 bonus certificate expiring that day. This would be ok at $15 but not worth full price.
This collection brings back memories of many late nights playing these games when they originally came out. My ultimate favorite is GTA Vice City. There's just something about the cars and atmosphere of the city and of course the music. What's not to love? The other games look very well polished as well though.
