This cookware more than delivers on non-stick cooking, even heat, visual appeal, and practicality. My favorite feature by far is the way the handles are attached. Rather than bolts inside the pan, these handles are securely affixed to the outside of the pans, make the cooking more even and removing the impossible-to-keep-clean, unsightly bolts. I also love the color, the usability of each piece, and the lids with their easy-to-grasp handles that are friendly for older hands.

I was gifted this set and was excited about them- they have worked well for cooking. However, I was confused and turned off by the smell that kept coming from them, filling my kitchen, and lingering for hours after use. I finally realized that if the handle gets within a few inches of the flame on my gas stove, it melts and the smell is toxic fumes filling my house. After I realized what was happening I thought maybe I was being careless about the handle near the flame and so tried on again last night and was exceptionally careful to keep the handle as far from the flam as possible, but still I got the burning smell. I contacted Green Pan and they blamed flare ups from my stove, which do not happen, or said I'm using a small pan on a large burner, also not ... MoreI was gifted this set and was excited about them- they have worked well for cooking. They called the melting 'discoloration' and said there could be a 'slight odor'. The odor is very strong and I have a toddler in the house, so I'm very concerned about the fumes, and it is clearly fully melt damage, not just discoloration. This is clearly a major design flaw, as I can see from others here who have had this issue and I find it reprehensible that Green Pan continues to manufacture something that they know is dangerous.

If you want to buy this pan just take the $60 and burn it because this is the worst pan I’ve ever purchased. After only 3 uses and of those 3 uses, during 2 of them I noticed a putrid plastic smell, well the handle burned on one side, then the other time I used it, the other side handle burned and emitted the putrid plastic smell again, all times I never blasted the heat per the directions that came with the pan, to take care of it, yet both handles still burned. This pan is defective and is faulty, the bottom is so wide on the bottom that no matter what when the heats escapes it’s going to melt the handles, doesn’t matter how less heat you use. It’s designed to melt. And not only that but when I contacted customer service about the pan, they were the most ... MoreIf you want to buy this pan just take the $60 and burn it because this is the worst pan I’ve ever purchased. The customer service person kept throwing the warranty in my face and refused to help me, just kept saying sorry, and I was told numerous times that I abused the pan, are you serious? After 3 uses I’ve abused the pan? Ummmm no your pan is faulty, just own up to it and give me an exchange or refund. We’re a family on one income and so I wasted my money, something that’s hard to do when your a one income family. When picking pans I knew these were very pricey but I liked what they stood for, clean plans, but after this pan with melting handles and the interaction with their customer service I now see that Green Pan doesn’t stand by their products which in my opinion is not a good look for a company. I will never buy from this company ever again and will love telling others this story and telling them as well to never buy from this company, they don’t care about your satisfaction with their products, so do yourself a favor and find a different clean pan company. I would give 0 stars if I could.

This pan lives up to everything promised! I've cooked multiple meals of all types in this pan and nothing sticks to it. It cleans very easily. Additionally, it heats up very fast and distributes heat evenly across the entire surface. Some of my older pans of a "well-know brand" have never distributed heat evenly across the entire surface of the pan the way this one does. I always had to shift around in the pan so that the whole meal would be cooked at the same temperature. I love the aqua color and the picture is true to the color you recieve. If I had one complaint... it was not packaged well - the tip of my pan had broken through the delivery box. Thank goodness it wasn't damaged, but being exposed that much I'm surprised it wasn't at least scratched.
The Greenpan Rio Frypan is a non-stick wonder that’s my new go-to choice for making eggs of any variety. First of all, the 12-inch frying pan is LARGE and it has high sides, so you can really use it for a lot of things in the kitchen. From eggs (the obvious choice) to fried pork chops, there’s a lot you can do with this one pan and the size is perfect cooking family meals. Where the pan really shines is in the non-stick surface. Eggs fly right out of that bad boy if you’re not careful! Nothing sticks and nothing burns — it makes cooking breakfast a lot easier. The pan has a nice weight and the teal color is a nice addition to my kitchen. My only “quip” is that the package said it’s dishwasher safe on one side, but recommended handwashing on the other.. I’m not really sure what to make of that, so I’ve been hand washing it just in case. I generally hate hand washing anything, so that wasn’t the best surprise. Overall though i'm very happy with this Rio Frypan. 5 Stars!
Don't buy this pan if you have a gas stove. The handle burned, something oozed out of the joint and smelled like melted plastic. Customer service considers that normal "wear and tear" and will not replace or refund under warranty. They say it's safe to use, but I refuse to cook on a pan that emits noxious fumes. This happened after only one use on gas stove. We didn't use high heat and the flame was not in contact with the handle like customer service claimed it was. This pan is 12 inches in diameter and the fire diameter is only 4.5 inches. I now also see on the website that others have had the same issue, and Greenpan still advertises as good for use on gas. (It's fine on electric.) Poor design and poor customer service. Very dissatisfied.
First, these let off a horrendous stench when cooking on them. There is no way that the chemical smell being emit from them is safe. Second, everything sticks to them. Third, the handle is burned after three uses! A frying pan that can't withstand any heat? That's not even remotely safe. Especially the handle you're supposed to be able to grab on to??I bought these because the price seemed great for three new pans, and I liked the Thermolon claims of being free of PFAS, PFOA, plastic, and lead, while being non-stick. Since all the other reviews say customer service was rude and unhelpful, I'm throwing all of these in the garbage. Steer clear of the trouble.
Best frying pan I’ve ever owned. It’s completely nonstick, so the cleanup process is really just a rinse. It’s like cooking luxury. When your food is cooked, you can simply pour it off the pan onto your plate and nothing is stuck to the pan. I love it. The base that touches the burner is well made and nice and flat. I’ve had other pans where the base warps from the heat after a few uses, but this one is nice and sturdy. The size is also ideal, perfect large size for my large stove burner. Very happy with this pan in general. The completely non-stick coating is really amazing and another huge plus is that their pans are considered healthy, and free from bad stuff like lead, etc.
I bought the 12" Rio Frypan last week at my grocery store after seeing "TOXIN FREE", "FREE OF PFAS, PFOA, LEAD AND CADMIUM". It did not register with me at the time that no mention is made of it being free of PTFE (Teflon). Additionally when I came to this website I notice there is no mention of it being free of PTFE on the website, either.I need to hear from the GreenPan. Company why there is no mention of these pans being PTFE (Teflon) FREE on the information that comes with the pan or on the website. The pan information says "The Original Greenpan". Is this the first pan the GreenPan company made when PTFEs (Teflon) might have been considered to be safe? I hate to leave a bad review but I would not recommend. We really loved these pans at first, but specifically the 8inch pan became nonstick super quickly. We got these pans a year ago. Within 6 months I requested a replacement for the 8in pan. I can attest that customer service was great. But with use, the replacement pan is also non stick. Forget about frying eggs in these pans, which is what we like the 8in pan for. It’s so frustrating because we are very careful to follow the instructions. I have never been more careful with the care of a pan before and they still function poorly with use. The other pans are working ok but we don’t use them as often. I have better success with a pan I bought from TJ maxx several years ago and it continues to be non stick. These ... MoreI hate to leave a bad review but I would not recommend.
