I have a Gibson Les Paul Custom Classic & an Ibanez acoustic. This Gretsch completes the sounds I was chasing. However, it is also a label guitar I have wanted for years. The looks are pure bling beauty but the sound excels beyond what I expected from a semi acoustic.Absolute value for money.

Love it. Jammed it 3 days after purchase. After one song I took my ear plugs out just so I could listen to it. What a beautiful sound it makes, with or without gain. It also plays a treat & is so much lighter than a solid body. 9.5/10.Gazman.

Terrific guitar. Looks great. Sounds fab. Had to pop some graphite in the nut to improve the tunability but otherwise played wonderfully straight out of the box.

You always have to adjust the bridge before you play a fresh hollowbody. Just like a violin, you adjust your bridge almost right above the soundpost to achieve tone, stability, and intonation. If you don't even know how to take care of a hollowbody vs a solid body. LEARN. Don't complain like this dud below. Btw, it's a MIK (Made in Korea), which means it takes 4,000 miles to reach the East coast, and if came in perfect condition in the package, you're the luckiest player to own such a beautiful instrument
New 'Gretsch' Guitars Are Now Made By 'Fender'; Which Is Why They All Sound Like 'Telecasters' - AND Are Cheaper. If LOOKING Like A 'Gretsch' Is All You Seek, Knock Yourself Out. But If You Want An ACTUAL Gretsch Guitar, Buy An Old One. These Imitations Are A Rip-Off In My Humble Opinion. THIS Is A 'Fender'.
I find a guitar to be very nice. Theres a slight reverberation in the E Sting against the fret board. Other than that I find the guitar in excellent condition. It plays well. This is my first Gretsch. Ive owned Gibsons les Pauls and others. This is a well made instrument. Reminds me of the Guitars used by the Stray Cats.
Arrived on time and well packed, would use this seller again
I came in to try, but not to buy, a blue sparkly Gretsch Duo Jet I'd seen on my last visit. I didn't need it as I have a 'Vintage Select' Jet Firebird single cutaway, but I just wanted to try the double cut. And they'd sold it. Then I saw this Gretsch semi. And it was orange! ORANGE!! I always liked the look of George Harrison's Country Gentleman when I was a kid (it was seeing him on TV that made me want to be a guitarist), and there was this guitar that was the same shape. But ORANGE!I tried it, and then I buyed it.
This guitar came with what seems like 11's, I normally prefer 9-46, but for the first time ever, I didn't care about string gauge. I just played and played and played. It is so comfortable to play that as long as it is set up well, it doesn't matter what your normal preferences are. I have kept the 11's for now. And oh my god it is gorgeous. The colour is even more beautiful than the pictures give it credit for. I can honestly say, that this is the most beautiful guitar I own, have ever seen or played. And as I said, it is not just a looker, it is a player. The Bigsby is great, stays in tune, which might be the higher string gauge helping, but I am sure it would stay in tune well with 10's or 9's even (at least well enough with 9's). And oh my god, have I raved ... MoreThis guitar came with what seems like 11's, I normally prefer 9-46, but for the first time ever, I didn't care about string gauge. Home, church, and with friends. I am 74, and grew up likening certain sound. The C neck and pickups make this g5422 just the best for me. Sounds great on my fender Blues Junior. And my spark, Love it.
