I don't always use primers, but tend to turn to them more during the dry winter months, applying them after my morning moisturizer and before my foundation. I find that the extra boost of moisture helps my skin stay more hydrated throughout the day. The only downside to layering so many products is it can sometimes highlight larger pores and fine lines. That's why my preference has usually been to use "blurring" primers, which unfortunately rely heavily on silicones. After using it for a straight week under a powder foundation (yes, probably not the best choice for the winter), I can see a noticeable difference in my makeup application and the way it holds up throughout the day. The pores around my nasal folds are less noticeable and my laugh lines do seem to be softened. I also recently damaged by hydration barrier using a particular cleanser, so have been trying to rehydrate my skin and ensure that it stays well-moisturized throughout the day. I found that this primer really helped lock in the moisture to the point that my skin still felt good and hydrated by the time I was removing my makeup in the evening. I really do like having this handy, but am not totally sure whether I'll repurchase given the price point. As soon as I saw that the product was a transparent gel, I thought it was yet another one of those silicon primers, which I'm not a fan of, since they feel quite suffocating on the skin. However, I was pleasantly surprised after I applied this primer, it immediately melted into my skin and it felt as if it had turned into water but while also sticking to my skin, if that makes any sense. It was a very unique sensation, I don't think I have ever tried a product like this before. Afterwards, you are left with very silky skin, which is perfect to apply makeup, though I think it would be even better to apply a gel moisturizer before the primer if your skin is very dry, but still, this primer does an amazing job on its own. I would say this primer is similar to silicon primers that control texture and pores, but way lighter and hydrating, it doesn't create a heavy or greasy film that clogs pores, it's like a major upgrade from those silicon primers, I think even better than cream primers. You would have to try it to see what I mean, trust me, you haven't tried anything like this before. The only thing that I believe needs improvement would be the packaging, I think a more flexible soft plastic tube with a narrow opening would be more efficient. Also, a little bit of product won't cover your entire face, you need to use more, but I guess that's just due to the nature of the product and how it's made. This is still an amazing primer though, I had truly given up on finding a good primer, so I think this will become my new holy grail and trust me it's hard to impress me. This could quite possibly be the best makeup primer I have ever used!..(and I've used ALOT of makeup primers...) After I'm done cleansing my skin and applying my skincare, I squeeze out just a pea sized amount of the primer and apply it evenly all over my face. The texture is a clear, lightweight gel that had a cooling sensation upon application, and it smells absolutely delicious. Immeditly, it feels so soft and smooth on my skin. It blurs out every little pore and acne scar, leaving my skin looking hydrated, youthful, and balanced. This primer stays in place all day, and it is smoothing enough that I'm comfortable wearing it alone without any foundation.
