I received this free from a Grown Alchemist Instagram giveaway. I love this and I was shocked when it healed my lips in less than 30 minutes. It is a clear texture that is less heavy than most lip balms. Since the first ingredient was castor oil, I thought the lip balm would be thick and goopy, but it was perfect. The only minor negative is more a personal opinion. I’ve never liked vanilla scents/flavor mixed with fruit, and this is vanilla watermelon scented and flavored. It is not at all unpleasant, though, and this balm’s high performance definitely makes me excited to try other products from the brand.

Unlike the $40 , this lip balm is worth every penny. Instead of 3.8ml of product, you get 12ml (more than 3 TIMES the amount) for $23. Non-picky financial value info aside, this non-greasy lip balm has a nice watermelon + vanilla aroma, and does not feel sticky/tacky in the slightest. I received this complimentary Lip Balm from @grownalchemist for my honest review. It's toxic-free 100% natural Vanilla-containing Polyphenol Anti-Oxidants along with B6 and Pantothenic acid. Carotenoids and Vitamins from Watermelon. I have to say that I really like their lip balm. It's a tad bit thick but I don't mind that at all. This way it stays on my lips and isn't come off within minutes. It’s an ok product in terms of hydration and moisture it adds to the lips. Other that that, it’s terrible. Packaging: it comes in a huge, wasteful box for such a tiny tube; the tube packaging makes it impossible to get out just the necessary amount, very goopey and messy, comes out in its own; doesn’t have an applicator tip. Once on the lips, I can’t tell if it’s too goopey and sticky, or if this is because I put too much due to a lot coming out with a tiny squeeze. The scent taste is that of the old rollerball lip glosses I used as a kid. Overall, just ok

Bad Packaging:Great Product

I bought this product about a month ago, after using a trial size from a travel kit I received. The packaging on the travel size was fabulous with a lip applicator instead of just a spout for the product. Additionally the packaging was made from a plastic. I really like the full size product in an Aluminum tube, however the Aluminum tube once bent several time eventually tears, which leads to the product leaking. Not only this but the spout for product just leaks the balm everywhere because there is not a stopper. A packaging similar to Glossier’s new packing of Balm Dotcom would be beneficial. The product is naturally goopy, so a stopper and tougher tube would benefit this product. Overall, I love the smell, and the texture is pretty good a little goopy. Disappointing for GA and not worth the price

I really love so many Grown Alchemist products and this is one that I was really disappointed with. The only great thing is the lovely watermelon smell!Its very heavy, sticky and shiny which i wouldn’t mind for nighttime if it were super nourishing. However I find that it doesn’t penetrate well and doesn’t soothe my dry chapped lips at all.It’s not worth the price over other (similarly priced or cheaper) lip balms.

Not Lip Balm

The texture and benefits of this product are the same as lip gloss, not lip balm. It is very shiny when applied, doesn’t sink in, no lasting moisturizing effect, very much a liquid, somehow contains ineffective yet good ingredients. Also, it is pretty messy when opening the lid and trying to get out the tiny amount you require. The metal tube is not the best packaging for this product as the tiniest amount of pressure will cause an oily mess when opened. I wish I had chosen their antioxidant lip balm in jar form, as I like their other products.

Not Lip Balm

What the heck is this? It is definitely a liquidy, sticky, shiny, lip gloss. Somehow there are quality ingredients, but they are ineffective at having any lasting moisturizing effect. This smells like watermelon a bit, not at all like vanilla. It comes in a metal tube, but even a tiny amount of pressure and you end up with wayyy more product than you need and it makes an oily mess. I love other Grown Alchemist products.

V watermelon - not so vanilla

Loved the formula, feeling and hydration of this on my lips! A little goes a long way with this baby - I think due to some of my fav ingredients like jojoba butter and rosehip oil - you don't need much for your lips to feel soft and hydrated. After trying this lip balm out, it's now one of my go-tos! I only have two hang ups with it which is why I removed 1 star in my rating. Hang up #1: there is little to zero vanilla scent in this, I would describe the scent as any classic watermelon scent you've ever smelled (but not overpowering). It's very lovely to use, and maybe that's where the vanilla comes in but if you're looking to actually smell the vanilla - this isn't the balm for you. This lip balm smells like summer watermelon and vanilla. This is a thicker consistency that really give your dry chapped lips that extra hydration it has been craving. If you don’t like thicker vaseline textures, this is not for you. I apply this once a day, before bedtime the last step in the skincare routine. I like how this preps my lips for a smooth surface in the morning, in the event that I feel like I want to apply any lip color, the lips are nice and supple.This lip balm is targeted towards people with sensitive lips. It is nice to see there are products that smell good for sensitive skin people.
