A hardtail with a bit of full sus vibe!

GT put some thought into this frame. Not only does it look rad, but the floating seat stays were designed for a more comfortable ride. Solid welds and triple triangle construction help absorb and distribute the shockwave force from hard landings. Being 5’9, the Medium size frame is perfect and the black on grey colour scheme is the same as my Contender 25T!Stepping up from 26” to 29” tyres, I realized that I would feel more comfortable on a 27.5” but it was too late to cancel my online order. Since REI doesn’t charge until you pick up in store, I ordered a second GT Aggressor and tried them both, opting for the smaller wheels.

Great Christmas dress

I purchased the Berry color in size 8.Lovely dress, and overall effect is great (which is why I’m keeping it), although there are a few snags... Also, I got it at 50% off, else I wouldn’t have kept it.Sizing: I’m 5’10”, 28.5” waist, 40” hip, 32D/34C and usually between size 6-8. I have an hourglass shape. The 8 fitted perfectly, like a glove. The bodice is lined, and you don’t need a bra, and feel very supported.Design: the neckline, with a bit of adjusting, looked as pictured on the model. However, it’s true, you can’t lift your arms up, and I’ll probably spend the whole time readjusting the neckline, but I think it’ll be worth it for a dinner party (ideally around Christmas!). Not good for dancing, Unless you just don’t care by that point! They don’t taper very well over the hips, and picker a little. It’s only minor, but I feel it makes my hips look wider than they are, so I’ll probably try and put a few stitches in to smooth it out. Also, the base of the zip puckers pretty badly over my bottom, but again, I’ll either try and sew it, or figure I can’t see it, so not to worry. You can also see the seam up the back of the skirt when you move (as it’s longer at he back), which is a bit ugly, but a small point. These are the reasons I think it’s not worth $220, but I’m happy(ish) at $110.Overall, it’s an unusual style, and the red velvet feels sexy and luxurious, and I think I’ll have fun wearing it!

My son was looking for a decent bike that would not break the bank. He saw this particular bike on Facebook marketplace used for $400. The bike usually goes for around $800. He researched it and saw that Dicks was having a sale on these bikes for $399! And the sale ended that night at 12 midnight. It was 7:30 and we called about it and they had them and we rushed over there. The store associate couldn’t even believe it. So he got a brand new bike for the same asking price as the one that was used! Great bike. Made very well. Highly recommend esp if you can catch a sale!

Great value, don't expect that a pro assembled it and you'll be happy.
18 March 2021

It's hard to find a better value at this price point. This a great starter MTB, it's very easy to ride, well balanced considering it's a little heavy, and the components all work well together. The best part about this bike is that everything is industry standard parts. If you break something (and you will if you are just getting into it) you can replace it with something better. I've see comparable builds at shops for 100 to 200 more with the same basic setup. What you don't get at Dick's is the pro assembly and tune you get at a bike shop. If you have some mechanical ability, it's a good trade off. We bought one off the floor; the bars were not centered, the front disk was not correctly centered in the brake caliper and the front wheel was barely tightened (every ... MoreIt's hard to find a better value at this price point. These were all things that are pretty straight forward to fix and honestly what I expected from a department store bike.TLDR - if you can tune it, grab it. If you don't know how to deal with things like derailleur adjustments, disk brakes, and the like save some more cash and go to a bike shop.

Huge problem with gears!
5 January 2021

I had a great GT in the past and was excited about this bike. I went for the first ride and the front derailer would not go from 2 to 3. My bike had MicroShift and not Shimano. The outer thumb trigger is about a 3 inch push to engage the gears which was uncomfortable to begin with. I figured I would get use to that but took it back for adjustment. Dicks put it on the stand and went through the gears with no issue And said i needed to push further. I went to the parking lot and pushed to the point the plastic could have broken with the same issue going from 2 to 3. I was told that you really don’t use those front gears anyways to prevent chain wear. I insisted another tech look at it and ride it. I got a call 8 hour shift later from another tech and he could not duplicate the issue but adjusted the front derailer to go out further. I picked up the bike and it failed to shift into 3rd before I got to the first park parking spot. I tried 3 more times and it failed 3 times. I took it right back inside where it was hung up between 2 and 3 and the tech couldn’t get it to engage. He shrugged his shoulder, said there wasn’t much he could do about it, adjusted it more and I took it outside. This time it struggled to get into 3 and wouldn’t return to 2. I walked in and asked for my money back. I am not sure if it was GTs fault, MicroShift, or Dicks but’s I won’t be using any of the 3 for future bikes.

Kinda expecting problems right away but......
19 January 2021

I didnt buy just one, I bought 3 GT bikes. 2 of them were Stomper Pros for my kids. They were all for Christmas of 2020. We all love it! Especially me, I’m crazy about the colorway I have, light sand w/ Bold Blue GT letters & orange trim. Ive read all the problems here & Youtube. I’m already expecting to replace chain, crank, cassette, handlebar/neck, pedals & etc. BASICALLY, I paid for the FRAME! Which is fine. I’m already experiencing dangerous chain slip, unexpected gear changes, squeaky brakes, unstable tire roll when cornering & thats about it. Now for my kids, one fo them is experiencing chain slip or the other cannot have the hardest/fastest gear set because then the chain will rub on the frame no matter how much I adjust the derailleur. I’m very skillful and hands on w/ a lot of things and I hate to say this but the products on the FRAME is inferior. Kinda purchasing a PC, you have a lot of 3rd party parts that goes into the product whereas buying a MAC is made in-house by 1 company only. If you’re looking to get this at a budget buy, wait for sale and slowly over time, start replacing the stock parts for high quality / known brands parts. You can still achieve “PRO” quality bike under $1,000 opposed to shelling out $2,000 & up for one.

Overall experience
23 June 2022

The bike arrived in good condition considering the cross country trip it took. Assembly was pretty straight forward...front wheel, seat, pedals. Purchase was easy as well. I was a little disappointed with the sales rep that I messaged with some questions. I asked if the bike came with pedals as it showed them as a separate option in the listing. He stated that the bike did not come with pedals. When the bike arrived it did have the pedals I ordered separately as he indicated that i needed to buy them separate. The bike, however, did come with pedals, so be aware of that. I now have an extra set of pedals.

PLEASE DONT BUY THIS ITEM
10 March 2022

I've had so many issues with this bike. The first time I purchased it, it was never sent to me. I had to go through several people just to find someone who could fix this issue. Once I was in contact with the correct person, they had a new bike shipped, which unfortunately took longer than expected, however I was understanding and let that go. When the bike had arrived the box was beaten up. I also was understanding of that inconvenience. I finally was unboxing the bike when I noticed the bike rotor was bent. I told myself that I do not have time to return it. I needed it for transportation to work. I properly assembled the bike and let the rotor rub against the brake and listened to the horrid squeal all the way to work. The biggest issue was the recent issue. This bike has been well taken care of. It is even stored in the house and I have had it less than a year. I bike two miles to work..... As I was riding home the chain snapped off my bike. Into pieces. I was in disbelief. I spoke with an employee named Lacy about the issue and she said I need to call the manufacturer. I asked for the number and she said she would find it. I wrote the number down and repeated it back to her. I get off the phone with Lacy and call the number... IT WAS THE WRONG NUMBER! Cannot believe I spent so much money on this bike.

Seems like great bike but flawed design
7 March 2022

The product seems it would be great, haven’t used it yet. Unfortunately the bike is a little high for me so I went to adjust the seat down. However as seen, there are 2 holes were Allen key screws were. Inside the pole frame where the bike seat sits, the frame extends outwards which causes the seat not to adjust to its lowest level. I measured the frame whole and it sits approx 16 inches down and the pole itself is approx 11 1/2 inches. The outward screw holes do not let the pole go farther down. Completely flawed design and dicks would not let me return as bike’s only have a 24 hour return and I’ve had the bike for less than a month

Awesome design, great price, does not come as advertised. The website lists Shimano shifters and derailleurs with Tektro brakes, but when I went to pick it up in store, it had Microshift components and different brakes. It was the last one in inventory so the website link was taken down after I paid for it. When I complained, they couldn’t find the description and specs on REI online either and said I didn’t read the fine print, that it could come with either. They offered to install the components I wanted, but I would have to pay extra. It was the last day of the sale, selection was limited and I would have to make a choice that day. I ended up getting a CO-OP bike instead. Now, the link is back up, listing Shimano and Tektro components, with a disclaimer in the “fine print”.
