Apres L'Ondee is reportedly one of the 20 best perfumes of all time according to the only book I am aware of that ranks many, many perfumes in one volume. Also the book is not on the sales team of any perfume house. This fragrance was originated in 1906 by Guerlain. Guerlain has a long history of amazing fragrances. The smell of this is described as "heavenly heliotrope." I have heliotrope growing in my garden right behind the chair I am sitting in. It isn't exactly like heliotrope, in that it combines other scents as well. It is a floral that is not too sweet that is described as being combined with lilies. It doesn't smell like lilies either. Best perfume collection ever

I have always loved Guerlain perfumes since my mum introduced me to them 20 years ago.Les Legendaires is a collection of Guerlain's most iconic perfumes dating from the late 19th century.My absolute all time favourite perfume is L'Heure Bleu, closely followed by Liu, Apres L'Ondee and Shalimar. Also recommend Samsara, Vol de Nuit and Insolence.Every month, on pay day, I am treating myself to a new fragrance from the Les Legendaires collection and discovering new favourites.Added bonus is if you order through Guerlain online website, you receive samples and free gifts, plus earn loyalty points for exclusive items.

Gorgeousness in the rain....after the rain...

I have a bottle of the older version, but I am now having to pull the trigger and get the new formulation. To which I have no hesitations to do. They are keeping true to the spirit of these fragrances I adore. I don't reach for this often, but I do wear it in the spring and early summer. It's so feminine and no real words can describe the comfort and inner peace you feel while it wafts around you. Please do try to find a sample. I find that this line is a bit more long wearing that the original versions. 10/10

Lovely ethereal scent but shame about longevity

I've been eyeing Apres L'Ondee for a while and was excited to finally get it since it's not available in my home country. I could never get ahold of a vintage, so the bottle provides a peek into the illustrious history behind Guerlain's classics. Light, ethereal wafts of anise and violets emanate from the first spritz - the scent is powdery, green, and floral. But the longevity leaves much more to be desired - it stayed on my skin for about 3 to 4h before becoming near imperceptible.

One of My Favourites

I have not worn this perfume for some time and memories came flooding back when I received it and had a spray to try. It was difficult to obtain elsewhere so thrilled to find it in John Lewis.It is one of my all time favourites and lasts longer than some other similar fragrances.It is expensive but used some birthday money so I am really really happy with my purchase.

Unusual and beautiful

This is a beautiful scent. I have heard it described as haunting and melancholic. It is aptly named - it does give you the sense of smelling the air "after the rain." It has a distinct character. It may not appeal to all. But if you love it you won't want to be without it. This purchase was for a back up bottle.

Violets!

Lots of romantic talk about this fragrance on YouTube. Can I smell the violets, no. Not very pleasing, if you a looking for a Violet/green classic scent this isn't it. Rather unpleasant, not sweet at all which is good for me but a bit chemical smelling.
