L'instant by Guerlain, L'instant opens with a fresh citrus fragrance with notes of anise and jasmine at the top. Its heart bears warm and spicy notes of patchouli, cedar, Indian sandalwood, cocoa beans, and lavender. The base rounds out the scent with touches of hibiscus seeds and musk, making this cologne perfect for every man on every evening. This scent was launched in 2004, a year after its feminine equivalent, and the collaborating perfumer was Beatrice Piquet. The French company was acquired by Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy in 1994; however, prior to this acquisition, the perfume house was family-operated. The family legacy with the company ended in 2002 when Jean-Paul Guerlain retired, and although the business is no longer family-owned, the quality of products has not declined. Grown in the Comoro Islands, the luxurious and rare materials used in the company’s perfumes still remain and have preserved the passion for perfumes for over 175 years.
