The Oral Feeding Syringe is the perfect way to administer milk, liquid diets and larger quantities of medicine to premature or just plain fussy babies in a mess and waste-free way. Our dual-angled ports on either side of the nipple shoot liquid into the sides of your little one's mouth instead of the back of their throat to greatly reduce the risk of choking! When feeding a baby using a traditional syringe, you have to use a combination of the hard nib (which could damage your baby’s delicate mouth) and your finger to make it work. The Haakaa Oral Feeding Syringe makes things easier by providing a soft silicone nipple for babies to suck on when they feed! Made of food grade silicone and non-toxic PP. Dual angled ports in the nipple tip disperse medication sideways into your child's cheeks instead of the back of the throat. Soft, pacifier-style teat. Pacifier-style shield prevents potential choking hazards. Clearly marked measuring bar ensures accurate measurements. Comes apart for easy cleaning. BPA, PVC and phthalate-free. 10ml syringe capacity and 20ml cap capacity The Haakaa Oral Feeding Syringe measures liquids in 5ml increments and may not be suitable for smaller doses.

This thing was crafted by wizards and fairies and gifted to us mere mortals. I’m going to start a new religion based around praising this product. If your baby doesn’t like taking medicine then buy this product. Add it to cart right now.My baby HATED medicine. We switched from disgusting Panadol to delicious tasting Dymadon and Neurofen and it made by different. Absolutely traumatic every time. He’d kick and scream. We’d have to hold him down. He’s try to spit it out. He’d refused to swallow and almost choke on it instead because he was screaming so hard. But without it he couldn’t sleep for teething. It was pure hell. Then comes his product. It’s soft enough that it doesn’t hurt the back of his mouth so I can push it back far enough past his tongue so he can’t ... MoreThis thing was crafted by wizards and fairies and gifted to us mere mortals. He LAUGHED because it tickled the back of his throat. He will now sit up happily and *open his mouth* in anticipation of the medicine. He chews and sucks on the end of it and smacks his lips after swallowing the medicine.I give this product 3,000 stars. It’s unbelievable.

Fantastic idea and works really well - makes giving medicine (especially powder mixed with breastmilk) so much easier and gentler on little mouths than a hard plastic syringe. Some feedback: maybe it's because I was using this with a three-month-old, but it's quite large and my little one occasionally struggled a little bit with the size of the teat. Also, the barrel could be a little bit longer to enable administration of more than just 10ml-ish. Perhaps longer and thinner to help with smaller doses? (Shorter is better for control, I suppose...) Or perhaps there could be interchangeable teats for smaller babies vs toddlers (that's a big call, yes). Definitely glad I purchased this - it has been and will be used for a long time to come! Would absolutely recommend ... MoreFantastic idea and works really well - makes giving medicine (especially powder mixed with breastmilk) so much easier and gentler on little mouths than a hard plastic syringe. I purchased 2 of these really hoping they would be as amazing and ingenious as I’d hoped when I found them online. However when I tried to draw up 10mLs of my precious breastmilk (bubs less than 2 weeks old so every drop counts), the plunger is so loose that it just falls out of the end on any slight movement and I lost 10mLs of my breastmilk! I thought it was user error but again it occurred when I tried. I feel like it’s a bit pointless to only draw back to the 5mL to ensure it doesn’t fall out when there is a marker for the 10mL amount. Is there anything I can do to prevent this? Thanks heaps.

I was looking forward to this product because of the good reviews however it has been disappointing. I can’t even suction up any liquid as the plunger comes out of the syringe really easily. I also find it really hard to pull the silicone cap off and put it back on. Unfortunately a waste of money and will happily stick to the medical syringes.
I loved the idea of this. Sadly it has a few design features which seem counterintuitive to its purpose. The nipple core is mostly filled with the hard plastic syringe nozzle making it hard not soft for our baby to suck (quite a lot further down the nozzle than advertised in the attached picture). A large portion of the medication is left in the syringe nozzle meaning she gets a dramatically reduced dose of paracetamol. The yringe has not volume markers on it and the measurement cup supplied for this purpose only comes with 5, 10, 15 and 20 ml markers...where as a lot of infant medications are in measure less then 5 ml. The syringe has a bit if an air leak via the stopper/plunger. Having said this I do still use it but only the nipple (with a medical 2 or 5 ml ... MoreI loved the idea of this. I could have saved money by using a bottle teat or old soothie/pacifier with a hole made in it instead of buying this!
We desperately needed our 11 month old son to take his antibiotics multiple times over the course of this year and a regular syringe would not work at all. He would hate it anywhere near his mouth, push it out of the way, he'd spit out his medicine and a few mls of medicine would take nearly 10-15 mins to get down with so much screaming and crying. It also resulted in him getting sick and ending up in hospital due to hardly any medicine going down.Out of sheer frustration I googled for solutions and came across this. We were skeptical at first but decided for the small amount of money, we may as well try, we had no other options. From the first use, he was so much happier to take medicine from this syringe! We were skeptical at first but decided for the small amount of money, we may as well try, we had no other options. From the first use, he was so much happier to take medicine from this syringe! He would sit there biting on the teat while we slowly emptied it into his mouth. Far, far less medicine leaks out of his mouth because the teat sends the medicine into the corners of his mouth and we can get the unit further in because he doesn't mind it at all. He even pulls the syringe to his mouth himself sometimes and sits there biting away at it while the medicine goes in.This syringe is truly a game changer and has made our lives so much easier. I can't believe how much it has helped. We ended up buying 3 more to give to a friend and backup supplies for ourselves. It is a must have for your household!
This has been great and just as expected. I love that I can sterilise it. I use it to give babe a probiotic, so the nipple is very handy, although they do just take it without it. The pressing / dispensing takes a bit getting used to.
We bought this to give my premmie her iron every day. It's turned a stressful daily ritual into a breeze: she now sucks it down, not spilling a drop. While it's difficult to get precise measures (the increments are in 5ml, and we calculated that you lose approximately 0.5ml in the nozzle at the end; you also suck up quite a bit of air when drawing), I figure it's way better to get "about" 3ml into her each day, then to inject exactly 2.6ml and a "whole lot" of it gets spat back out! As she has started teething this has also been a lot more pleasant - with the disposable syringes she would scream whenever I knocked her gums (frequently), whereas she enjoys chomping down on this. Not to mention cost-saving: the pharmacy and hospital syringes only last a few washes ... MoreWe bought this to give my premmie her iron every day. Have a newborn that needs his iron supplement, the holes in the side instead of the bottom make it perfect for avoiding a sudden or accidental discharge making baby choke. This has made things soooo much easier. Great product.
This syringe is terrible for accuracy! With kids under 20kg medicine doses are constantly changing and are random amounts often down to 1/2 a mil or less the cup measures in multiples of 5 and the syringe has barely legible 5ml and 10ml lines. There is also a lot of wastage with double pouring.Basically you need to measure the medicine with some other device entirely unless you are using exact multiples of 5ml. Unusually love haakaa products but find this dangerous. Winging medication amounts is not ok.
