I use these hinges in 19mm MDF, Plywood and Melamine carcasses and they work just as you expect. It's a pity that the cruciform plate doesn't have a decent drilling template, so I made one from 6mm MDF. Along with the Kregg hinge cup jig, the hinges go on well with little adjusting.

I use these a lot for my garage cabinets.I almost always use 16mm melamine panels, and thy are probably 2mm too thin for these hinges.But, they work fine and you just have to be careful not to drill to far!My only complaint is I can't find a drilling pattern. This means I have to measure, fiddle, clamp, and drill carefully for each hinge.This might be my inexperience, but a simple pattern would really help!
