The Halco Laser Pro 160DD is a great blue-water trolling lure that boasts the latest in lure technology, incorporating strength, durability and fish-catching ability. The outer body has extra-secure hook anchoring and towing points that are built-in as an integral part of the lure body. Halco's bulletproof bib securing system provides added strength and ensures the lure has faultless swimming performance at high and low speeds. A great blue-water trolling lure, the Laser Pro 160 can be trolled over a wide speed band, its optimum speed for trolling for pelagics is around 6.5 knots. Troll lures at distances ranging from 10–50 metres from the boat. About 25 metres is normal. Troll more than one lure at once to increase your chances, and emulate a school of fish. When trolling for toothy pelagics, such as mackerel, remember to use a Halco Snap or Supa Snap Trace. Always troll your lures at different distances from the boat. Not only does this cover more area, but it also avoids tangles when using multiple lures.

I asked the assistant (sorry, have forgotten his name). If there was one lure on this massive wall of lures to catch a Spanish Makerel which one would it be. The results were awesome. Thanks! 👍👍Also did a great job of setting me up with ganged hooks, floats and leader.

Compared to the Samaki DD lures, the quality is very poor and therefore could not recommend

I've been using several other major brand name hard body lures beside the Laser Pro, and the Laser Pro always produces as well as, or better than those other major brands. The Laser Pro's are a fantastic lure for our Australian pelagic fish. They produce Spanish Mackerel and Spotties, as well as Yellowfin and other Tuna, plus Bonito. I recommend these Australian lures to anybody who knows a bit about fishing.
I’m a Halco fan and i was looking for some lures i wanted and i found them at fishingtackleshop and i even found some new colours i don’t have, they have great choices of lures. I sure am buying from this website..👍
My go to hardbait lure at the flatline. 18-25 meters away. Saves the day, always hot. Red white color or pink mackerel, 7 meter depth reference. Trolls beautiful at 7 knots, without jumping away. Tuna and wahoo slayer. Change back hook for single inline if 11 Ib +drag. Excellent price performance ratio.
Always reliable. After trying other lures, this one ticks all the boxes for success.
I would rate my purchase better but for the failure of the smallest of the lures that I bought. They’re meant to troll at 1-1.5 metres depth. I find it impossible at any speed to keep them under water. It’s a problem had on a previous purchase of the same - which I thought was an aberration. But it’s not. And I won’t purchase them again.
Really good quality...special for tuna, marlin , wahoo and others more...
This is the particular lure ( and pilchard colour ) that we use for trolling for mackeral. Tried lots over the years, but have settled pretty much on this one. Might use gold in the early morning, but otherwise it's the pillie colour. The only thing we vary is the depth we run them at. If we had to choose one lure - this is it, and there have been lots of mackeral caught to justify that decision.
