I bought this lure last weekend and tried it today off the rocks. 4th cast I caught a great salmon. Had heard a lot of good reviews and YouTube videos on this lure and it didn’t disappoint
I've the roosta! It holds its own with premium high end and more expensive surface lures when chasing pelagics or tailor off the stones
Was good to cast out using a Daiwa salt water 7ft PE 3-4 rod paired to a 6000 daiwa saltist on 35lb siglon. Got hit by a queen fish in the duck pond near the casino, it works obviously, but after casting a thousand times or so, I am afraid to report, the fish just weren’t there. Keen to cast it out into a bust-up or across a reef with a heavier set up soon as the weather permits
My roosta’s been beating up the chickens like the Shimano Sedona beats eggs so I thought I’d try try this Halco Roosta Popper to pull him into line BUT with no instructions on the packaging I can’t figure out HOW to pop my roosta. I’ve tried but he ain’t poppin’.

I'm new to popper fishing & at first i just tried to get the biggest pop. But after doing some research, realised that popper fishing isn't just about getting the loudest or biggest pop. It's about finding the correct rhythm or cadence in which to pop to attract the fish. And this can vary from day to day. So i enjoy this challenge & find it much more interesting that fishing with metals only. So i will likely add to my popper collection sooner than later. But am curious why BCF chooses not to stock the medium (80mm) Halco poppers? or the entire range of colours that Halco offers on their poppers? I would like a "Red Tiger" one.
