Works wonders on dogs that love to pull. My husky used to try to pull my arm off during walks even when she was in a harness. With this leader, she doesn't pull and I have better control over her. I tried other leaders but this one works the best for me. I love that it has a second clasp that attaches to the collar so you don't have to worry about your dog getting the head peice off and taking off. I also like the design of leader. The part that goes over the nose is cusioned so it doesn't irritate your dog. It is really easy to put on and adjust to your dogs size. I got a medium for my 5 month old husky and it fits her perfectly. She's still growing and this product allows a lot of adjustment for growth. Absolutely Incredible!!!

We own an 18-month-old Great Dane. She arrived at our home March 01, 2020.COVID-19 closures contributed to a very late socialization. Fortunately, she is very friendly with people & dogs, but she pulls like crazy on a walk! We bought the Halti Optifit Headcollar yesterday evening (8/7/21), and today (8/8/21) she is taking long walks in the country staying at heel!! We are amazed and delighted.

At last my dogs are a pleasure to walk!

I was sceptical as to whether the head harness would work on my large and very strong Salukis. It is very important to get your dog(s) used to putting their noses through it to begin with and becoming familiar with it. First walk with head harnesses fitted to both, and myself nervous as to how they would react. I neednt have worried. Not once did I have to say to them stop pulling. They were like normal well trained dogs, if you can believe that about a Saluki. Ive ordered two more for my other Saluki and Daschund, thats how good they are.

Halti Optifit

Have used Haltis when walking several Goldens since 1980's. Had found more recently purchased Haltis dogs could slip off their nose as Haltis fit worked loose.dogs walked well except if squirrel or cat etc run infront of them!!!Under these cicumstances they are finding the Optifit much more difficult to slip off We have 3 large type goldens and found little size guidance when ordering. Believe previous Haltis were size 4but I'm sure there was guidance with measuring with them. We think we MAY have been better with a size smaller with the optifit . The sizing on the Optifit seems more generous than the traditional Halti. Like the reflective strip on the optifit although it has started to come lose on one of the 3 purchased. Highly recommended

I honestly didn't believe the "guaranteed" no pulling but the collar actually made a HUGE difference the first time we used it. My pup doesn't love wearing it so when we stand still she'll lie down and try to pull it off, but it doesn't hurt her. It's a much better (and more effective) alternative than a choking collar. My dog is 31lbs (and growing) and our walks used to be quite painful as she's still learning to heel. The collar has made a world of difference: Now that she's used to it she tries to pull a little, but it's very gentle and nowhere near her pulling before. I can control her even in stores - it is such a pleasure to walk with her now!

I love the halti. No more pulling! Shame dog doesn’t like it - spends most of his time trying to remove it.

Not well made

If you have a large dog that really does pull then this is NOT the headcollar to buy. If your dog is new to having something across the nose then you will find it difficult to not only put on but to manage to get the correct size. The clasp under the chin area is not substantial enough it broke the second time I took my dog out. The whole collar is too flimsy for larger dogs.

Review of Halti OptiFit Padded Headcollar

Have had several of these over years. The adjustable strap under chin suits our Dane as can loosen it when she is but hot and panting . Gives good control as they have the follow their nose. Large was perfect for our girl however she does have a more slender face than our boys have had. Would recommend

Slips a lot more than I thought, but otherwise good

Bought this and the product was shipped to me VERY fast, got here within a few days! I had it for two days and my dog pulled REALLY hard suddenly and the clasp under the chin broke in half :( It was unfixable! I emailed the Halti company and asked if they could send me a replacement clasp, they stated they don't keep extra clasps but that the product would be warrantied 100% so they sent me a whole new one. Took about a week to get. Otherwise this products materials are very strong, but sadly unlike it shows in the videos and such, the fabric around the muzzle slips constantly, won't stay centered so by the time your pups done pulling, the clasp is right beside their eye and the Halti is practically sideways! I still use it and I do like how much more control I have, but be warned - Do NOT use this product around roads unless you know FOR A FACT they cannot slip out of it or that the collar strap lead is clipped onto the pooches collar just in case because my pup backed up suddenly and almost slipped out of it, luckily we weren't by roads or cars, but just a friendly warning. I would rate this a 3/5 because it's worth the cost, the video helps, though if you have a very distracted easily dog it will be difficult. The under chin clasp can easily break and once broken is unfixable unless you have a solder to melt the plastic, then refit it all back together. If it does break, their customer service is very understand and if you're kind about it and truthful about the breaking (I even sent images to them) they will hopefully send another one. Works ok

Usually use a dogmatic head collar which has always worked well, but read reviews about this headcollar and thought we would give it a try. They are lightweight, but a little more flimsy than I expected. Saying that it seems to work well and can easily be carried in your pocket when not in use. My doing took to it, no problems, but he is used to wearing a dogmatic anyway. Not a bad headcollar for the price.
