Locking pins fell out of the handles after moving it 25 metres with some light items inside. Tracked down a proper commercial strength wheelie bin sold secondhand from a Containers for change deposit centre.

I bought 2 of these bins recently and had them delivered. One of the bins didn't come with the proper axle but Bunnings Glenorchy customer service ordered one in especially for me and express posted it ... the bins have been very handy for storing leaves .... very happy with purchase overall

240 Litre wheelie bins. I purchased 5 of these , 2 x green, 1 x blue, 1 x red and 1 x yellow. Great value as they were less than half price. Though they aren’t as strong as the council bins, they will do the job I want them to do.
Poor quality, lid keeps separating from the bin every time it's emptied, I often find the lid on the road or footpath, I'm expecting that I will lose the lid at some point or someone will run over it.
So these bins are trash, and although you shouldn't have to fix a new product, here is the fix. Firstly, ensure you get the right length axle for the wheels! Secondly, to fix the lid retention issue, Slide the following bar through the handles: https://www.bunnings.com.au/metal-mate-19-x-1-2-1m-galvanised-steel-round-tube_p1130447. Cut bar to size and cap each end of the bar with a dynabolt (tighten them against each other) : https://www.bunnings.com.au/ramset-16-x-65mm-galvanised-dynabolt-plus-hex-nut-masonry-anchor_p2317493Now the lid will stay on and the product will perform its function.
The first time used the lid went with rubbish so now have to buy a new lid. It is very unsatisfactory to buy a bin and have to install the lid and totally unacceptable the lid is not secure enough even when installed properly to withstand council truck rubbish collection.
A lot smaller than pictured it also has 2 handles which is annoying.I feel this product is nothing like the green been advertised
I bought one of these bins today for recycling cans & bottles and have noticed in comments that the pins in the handle keep coming out, on the pin it self it has a tongue and on the handle of the main body underneath has a square cut out theses two should be aligned so the tongue clicks in.If all else fails and you have a drill and a screw driver you can always put a self tapping screw through the handle and pin that way it will never come out.As I have only just got it I do believe it will suit my needs, if it’s looked after and not bashed about it should give good service.
Sturdy Wheelie bin no: 2I bought another wheelie bin today the second so far,I have already used the first one which was bought eleven days ago for my bottle and can exchange. I still see people having problems with the pins of the lid in reviews, and noticed when I bought my second wheelie bin the pins where put in wrong, as I have stated in my last review the pins has a tongue on it and underneath the handle is a square cut out where the tongue fits into, the pin must be aligned for it to connect. I have had no problem with the first or the second one I have. It is only common sense to stop and look and see what the problem is. They are not the same as the sulo bins where they have serrated grips which is just a push in.
