Looks absolutely fantastic and is a perfect size to have a couple cups ready to go for the morning, but it drips way to quick. At first I thought I’d loaded the basket to loose or used a grind to course but on inspection I found that the plug which controls the drip basically just flows when in all the way correctly. The only way to slow it down was to have the plug halfway in which still drips through at 5-10 drips per a second with the whole 600ml running through in about 10 mins. Overall not quite happy with it and will buy a different one.

I purchased the Hario Shizuku based on a recommendation from a good friend in the coffee business and it is a fantastic choice. The instructions are easy to follow and you can make about 700ml of cold drip coffee each time. After all the water has filtered through it is also easy to clean. Navigation through the website was great and next day delivery was also perfect for me.I love the product and hope to get many years of usage from it.

Great quality system, with helpful instructional videos by AB to get you started. Note instructions within the system differ slightly from what AB recommends - go with AB for measurements. I now brew a couple of times a week, and has become a staple on the bench for delicious cold brew.
I was initially very disappointed as my process was nothing like the video and I ended up with the biggest mess with water leaking everywhere. After a call to Joshua I replaced the water with ice to slow the drip down and halved the amount of coffee I put in the filter basket. It is coming out quite nice now and no more leaking but I think a bit more tweaking and I should have it just right. I do like it but definitely needs to be done with ice as the drip is too fast. I will also try a courser grind on the next run but if it’s too course it will flow all the way through too fast and give me weak coffee.. ice is the better option I think.
I bought this as i thought i might be able to get something more like traditional cold drip coffee as opposed to what i get from my Mizudashi Pot. Dont get me wrong i like my Mizudashi and get great cold brew from it but I find that cold brew lacks the syrupy body that traditional cold drip produces.Based on the reviews and limited videos I'd seen I thought that I'd found a good cost effective way of making cold drip.spoiler - I didnt....The Shizuku produces pretty much exactly what i get from my Mizudashi pot it just does it a whole lot quicker.... I saw in one of the video that it should take 2-3 hours mine isnt anywhere near that amount of time... more like one hour. I played around with grind and amount of coffee but it didnt make much difference (except when i ground too fine and it overflowed out of the top. The drip rate is simply too fast for it to possilbly take that long. If anyone can get it to take longer id love to see a video or hear your tips!
Overall a nice looking, simple, easy to use and easy to clean cold drip brewer. However, you really aren’t able to adjust the flow rate. The mechanism is a plastic pin, pushed into a hole and the pin is either in the hole properly, or it isn’t. At best, you get a drip rate of approx 5-7 drips per second and 700ml of water drips through within 30 minutes. I don’t always have sufficient ice to fill the top with ice instead of water. Having said all that, the resulting “brew” still tastes good, but wish I’d researched the options more thoroughly before this purchase.
I’m a novice at this coffee making thing and this was so easy and straight forward to use. Loved the little video AB provided, very helpful when choosing . Great product would recommend!
Loving my new Hario Shizuku slow drip coffee maker. So easy & im loving the smooth taste of the cold drip. No bitterness like a hot long black. Even great with a dash of cold milk. ❤
This was pretty easy to use.Like other reviews online, it did take 2-3 goes to work out the right grind size for the nice a slow flow which resulted in about 100grams of wasted beans.I’ve found the only way get the time at an hour or over is to grind much finer than recommended. But it doesn’t bother me.But once you get the hang of it, it works like clockwork. Saving me heaps of cash from needing to go to the local coffee shop.
