The beautifully designed Hario Buono kettle makes every second of coffee brewing an absolute pleasure. Dimensions: 27.4cm (width) x 14.4cm (depth) x 14.7cm (height) Holds approximately 1.2 litres of water. Allows for gas or electric heating with a strong, light weight stainless steel body. Simple and brilliant design is revolutionising the coffee industry. The pour over method is not about automation or fancy machines with special functions, instead, it is all about taking the time to appreciate the simple science of brewing. Pour over coffee creation offers you manual control of every aspect of the brewing process, so you can create your one cup of coffee with its own distinct character, or as much as you want for your guests. No-one appreciates this more than the Japanese glassware company Hario, who took the time to develop their revolutionary Buono drip kettle. Two things make this product stand out: its beauty and its clever simplicity. The stylish kettle pours water ever so gently through its curved and slim spout, giving you complete control. Create a fabulous dome, watch your coffee bubble, and know that this cup is going to make your morning.

Purchased the kettle at Cook Culture to better prepare pour over coffee. Excellent for that use. Also wanted a stove-top kettle compatible with an induction range. The kettle works on induction, but would recommend that the highest power level not be used.I highly recommend purchasing from Cook Culture — Jed’s product knowledge is second to none.

The Hario pour-over kettle has a 1.2 liter capacity which is ideal for my needs since I make two pint-size beverages at a time. Other brands run a smaller capacity and I was left having to add more water and heat it up in order to make the second beverage. Goes to show that the folks at Hario have thought things through and it shows in their quality and workmanship. Like their coffee mills, this kettle is first-rate.
I purchased this kettle after researching the best product for an induction cooktop unfortunately after only a couple of uses the water taste was terrible and undrinkable - it was like the metal had infused with the water … I contacted alternate brewing who forwarded my complaint but have heard nothing further from them …. Ironically apart from this review email !!!!
Got this as a replacement to an electric kettle that died after four years. I don't want to have to keep throwing out kettles when my parents have used the same stove top kettle their entire life. The pot is extremely elegant, as expected of Hario. The only improvement I can imagine were if the handle were not plastic, but it would have to be another material or else the metal would be too hot after heating. It is _extremely_ lightweight, which is nice as with water it doesn't put too much pressure on ones wrist. The pot makes a light title sound when boiling and steam escapes through the three holes, so be careful when grabbing the lid. The lid itself is sized appropriately and is not difficult to remove, but prevents heat escaping aside from the three holes for ... MoreGot this as a replacement to an electric kettle that died after four years. The pot makes a light title sound when boiling and steam escapes through the three holes, so be careful when grabbing the lid. The lid itself is sized appropriately and is not difficult to remove, but prevents heat escaping aside from the three holes for steam. It handles a maximum of two large mugs or three small mugs of hot water, if you put anymore it overflows a small amount (not as bad as a pot overflowing with a lid on it, probably due to the cone shape). So far, I've boiled ~30 cups of coffee and tea with this and I am quite happy.
I wanted to get into pour over coffee instead of my automatic drip machine so was looking for the perfect kettle. I wanted something that would look sharp sitting out and also function really well. I also didn't want another small appliance to plug in on the counter. I did a lot of research and was between the Bonavita, Hario, and Fellow ketttles. The Bonavita isn't much of a looker. After picking up a Fellow kettle, it seemed like my stovetop was likely to melt the handle since its footprint was so small. The black Hario V60 Buono struck the right balance of still looking pretty sharp, but also being a good bet for function. After a couple weeks of use, it seems well made and I expect it to hold up well. The pour rate is easy to control (even for a novice like me). ... MoreI wanted to get into pour over coffee instead of my automatic drip machine so was looking for the perfect kettle. This kettle does the job as advertised. Great pour from the spout. Keep in mind that is a faster pour than many other goosenecks so you'll need some practice to get it just right. Once you get the hang of it, it's perfect. It does not have any temperature indicator, but you can easily get around that by using a quick read electronic food thermometer. I found it does take a while to heat up on my gas range, so some patience is needed. However, all that is worth the ability to fully clean the kettle without worry about electronics and the satisfaction that there are basically no points of failure.
I've only had it a couple weeks but so far so good. I read and followed the instructions. I handle it delicately, as it does seem to be kind of a delicate item. It does not whistle, but the steam really starts coming out the top when the water is boiling. It's noticeable, at least if you're in the same room. I usually take off the top and let it cool for a few minutes then use a candy thermometer (which I already had) to check the temperature for around 200 F. Made in Japan as advertised. One thing I read in the instructions is the recommended capacity is only 0.6 L, whereas the full capacity is 1.0L. (Makes sense, but I didn't think about it when I bought it.) So if you need to use the entire 1.0L, you may want to get the larger kettle. This one works fine with my ... MoreI've only had it a couple weeks but so far so good. I originally purchased a $150 electronic kettle (no name). It died the second I had it. My main concern is that I wanter a 1.2 liter (40 oz) kettle. The one I purchased had several options on it. After much thinking I decided they were options I did not need and decided I did not want. I wanted a quality kettle I could put on my stove and bring my water up to about 205º. So, I bought the Hario Buono Coffee Drip Kettle. It is stainless steel, very well made and under $100. It holds 40oz of water and while I am getting my Chemex pot ready the water is almost as hot as I want it. The handle as well as the the lid handle are well insulated so, all I have to do is remove the lid and insert an insta read thermometer. Its spout design is perfect for a pour over pot.
