From the time I hefted this Harman Kardon Go & Play 3 Bluetooth Speaker out of the carton it came in, I knew I was onto something magical and wonderfully special. The weight of this speaker alone indicated that it was solidly and well built. In addition, it encompassed sleekness and elegance in design. However the proof of the pudding was in the performance. The big sound in all its clarity that emanated from this speaker, was unbelievably astounding, giving one the feeling of actually being in front of live music performances. Clean, clear and rich sounds of the bass, midrange and high frequencies permeated the air around you. I unabashedly commend Harman Kardon for creating a masterpiece of a listening device!

Speaker sounds and looks great, but I chose the Go + Play 3 largely because the Harman website claimed it could play MP3 files through its USB port, both on it’s the specifications section online and on the downloadable spec sheet. This was an important feature for me because I was looking for a way to let my child play his music screen-free, and most premium portable speakers don’t seem to offer USB/memory card MP3 playback anymore.Anyways after a few calls to customer support and initially being told the speaker did have USB MP3 audio playback I was later told the speaker couldn’t play MP3s and I’d need to find a different solution.Still it’s a great speaker, and I think I’m going to keep it, but it’s a let down to learn it wasn’t as advertised, and the ... MoreSpeaker sounds and looks great, but I chose the Go + Play 3 largely because the Harman website claimed it could play MP3 files through its USB port, both on it’s the specifications section online and on the downloadable spec sheet. This was an important feature for me because I was looking for a way to let my child play his music screen-free, and most premium portable speakers don’t seem to offer USB/memory card MP3 playback anymore.Anyways after a few calls to customer support and initially being told the speaker did have USB MP3 audio playback I was later told the speaker couldn’t play MP3s and I’d need to find a different solution.Still it’s a great speaker, and I think I’m going to keep it, but it’s a let down to learn it wasn’t as advertised, and the published specs are inaccurate.Buyer beware if independent MP3 playback is a feature that matters to you.

I think the focus is not on maximum volume but on clear and precise sound. Anyone who values high-quality sound, timeless design and multifunctionality will be happy. However, if you are looking for a mobile companion for almost any weather, I would go for a splash-proof boombox.

Due to its modern shape and aluminum carrying handle the speaker looks very chic. And more importantly i can‘t complain about the sound quality. Behind the glass on the upper side of the speaker there are touch controls. Different charging ports such as a 3,5 Klinkem port for non-bluetooth devices and a USB type C port for external devices can be found on the back of the speaker, thus making it a kind of charger as well as a speaker. As for the battery life the speaker lasts me 6 hours instead of the 8 hours promised by the company. Although this could vary depending on the usage or volume. With just 3 hours the charging time is quick and practical.Built into the speaker there are microphones for phone calls, which i haven‘t tested yet because i personally don‘t ... MoreDue to its modern shape and aluminum carrying handle the speaker looks very chic. With just 3 hours the charging time is quick and practical.Built into the speaker there are microphones for phone calls, which i haven‘t tested yet because i personally don‘t think these are too important for such a speaker. As mentioned the produced sound is balanced with nice highs and lows.I would definitely recommend the speaker because of its modern design and great sound quality.
Great sound for it's size, so good I now have two and am thinking about getting some for gifts. Surprising how well it handles thumping bass. Overall it sounds balanced and clear. I like the minimalist look and buttons. The only thing that concerns me is the exposed downward facing subwoofer. I wish it had a protective screen to protect it, I worry that it could be raked across and ripped, or possibly punctured, by a careless moment. As with any portable device, a longer battery life would be appricated.
This speaker sounds AMAZING..especially with 2! It does have some glitches though, imo. First..why put a beautiful glass panel on this speaker and not put any lights under the buttons? Seems like a no brainer. Second ....you cannot connect one speaker with an audio cable and wirelessly connect to the other. Both speakers go silent. Same when bluetoothing from a tv. It will connect to one speaker just fine, but if you attempt to wirelessly connect to a second go play 3 it disconnects. ? Hopefully there will be a firmware update to address this...doubtful. To make such a beautiful spaeker and have these defects is a real shame.
Well, I bought the speaker a few weeks back and I am very pleased with my purchase. I have owned different HK speakers over the years, on two different continents. They are the best alternative to the most expensive option of buying an amplifier and stand speakers. The Go+ Play 3 does not disappoint. It's the 3rd one I own in 15 years. My only issue for this one is the state of the packaging when I received it. It had been ripped, taped again, and the box of the speaker itself was in the worst of states, too. I have the feeling HK sent me a refurbished without telling ... there were hair and dust stuck at the bottom when I unwrapped it. I decided to keep it to avoid going through the hustle of sending it back and wait for another. I hope I won't regret it.
The Harman Kardon GO & PLAY 3 speaker is a significant improvement over its predecessor. Its stylish design adds a new level of elegance, making it not just a functional device but also a fashionable accessory. The price of this model is truly impressive, offering an excellent balance of affordability and quality. As always with Harman Kardon, the sound quality is outstanding. Crystal-clear highs, powerful lows, and a well-balanced sound make listening to music on this speaker an unparalleled experience. The incorporation of new technologies likely enhances the acoustic experience even further.
I bought this speaker based on many Youtube reviews and comments from people who own it. Listening to it, it sounded the best in all comparisons which is why I was willing to pay the hefty £300. There are others that came close in comparison at half that price. What I have found from the very first song I played, is that the rumbling bass is out of control even at its lowest equaliser setting. I can live with it for bass heavy music but when every song has an overextended thump thump thump it gets tiring and every song sounds the same. The highs are a little recessed at their highest setting. This speaker is absolutely not balanced. It sounds like a TV soundbar that exaggerates big explosions and anything bassy to enhance the visual effect which is not meant to be ... MoreI bought this speaker based on many Youtube reviews and comments from people who own it. He sent it back and so will I.It's a shame because it's a beautiful speaker and you would think Harman Kardon would supply an equaliser app which would absolutely fix this problem. It's best use case is for teenage parties in a garden. However, this speaker is not targeted for outdoor parties. This speaker is absolutely not worth double the price of other speakers that don't have this imbalance problem.
The Haman Go + Play 3 totally won me over with its full sound, its highs and lows and, above all, its bass. Even a video that I filmed with my mobile phone at a concert is reproduced by the Harman Go + Play 3 in such a way that you would think you were really there again.Pros:- Great bass - you can feel the music even when the device is not on the floor- Nice sound - just right for me, that's how I would set my headphones. It's well balanced and fills the room wonderfully with music- Classy design - I think this speaker is just totally chic - it looks elegant and classy and it's all very high quality workmanshipNeutral:- The subwoofer is exposed at the bottom, so you shouldn't place it outside on an uneven or stony surface. I particularly like the full and well-dosed bass. It creates a great atmosphere. I would recommend it without hesitation.
