The dog door is way too high. We chose the large door for its size it fits a small dog West Highland Terrier not good for bigger dogs

I purchased the large size for my tall Kelpie, the bottom of the door flap sits approx 200mm from the bottom of the door but I do have an extra 100mm as the concrete path sits lower, he seems to get in fine. We screwed the door panel in the tracks so it’s sturdier and moved the sliding door locking mechanism to the panel so it can be locked. There is minimum (3mm) gap between the slider and panel, the kit includes weather strip so you can add it if you want.Only thing I would say is that when your sliding door is open, you only have about 410mm to walk through.I special ordered the door in White and am very happy.

Just the ticket!I had to get a large door for my dog which he was using within 5 mins of my installing it. Although I had to cut down the top of the dog door to fit my custom made sliding doors it took less than 40mins to get it in place. Life has become easier no getting up to let him out at night, house trained in no time.
Very happy with the Hartman patio pet door, its made life so much easier, no more getting up to let the pets out. My pets only took 2 days to train them to go in and out.
Easy to put in. Works perfectly for our big girl Izzy, she's currently 28kg and fits through easily. We just had to assist our dachshund by putting a makeshift ramp outside the door.As we are in a rental we didn't want to drill any holes in the sliding door so we're using a length of dowel to keep the door shut. An opening for the door latch to slip in to would make this perfect!
Door is good - we have the large as it appears there wasn’t any bigger size. Our dog is still a pup at 9 months old and fits through the large dog door but, if she gets any bigger, she won’t. The other problem is that we had to buy some draft stopper for the side of the sliding door as a gap is left when slotting in the pet door. Otherwise, it is quite a good buy.
