The Hasselblad H6D-100C. The Ultimate in image quality. The System revolves around the incredible 100MP 53.4x40mm CMOS sensor, with the ability to capture incredibly fine detail, never before seen in a single shot camera. (with the added bonus of being able to shoot UHD 4K video.) The CMOS sensor also has the ability to shoot at very high ISO's with little noise, even at the upper end of the spectrum the noise appears more like grain (particularly in monochrome.) The files are captured in 16-bit color depth with a dynamic range of up to 15 stops allowing an unbeatable amount of information to be retained and the ability to pull unbelievable amounts of detail from the shadow areas. With an impressive shooting speed of up to 1.5 frames per second (for a 100mp camera,) even more impressive is the ability to shoot continuously, unbuffered if using a Cfast card. The camera also has a slot for a standard SD card. The H6D system, coupled with Hasselblad's Phocus software and USB 3.0 type C cable, is a system made for seamless tethering and workflow. Using Hasselblad's High Quality RAW format that leaves all adjustments within the RAW file (thank god, no sidecar files.) The back incorporates a 3.0" 920k-dot touchscreen LCD monitor for live view shooting and intuitive and fast settings control. The camera also has built in digital levels for extreme accuracy, WiFi for use with the Phocus Mobile app and a mini HDMI port for external monitors.

I'm coming from an H5D-50c and the big draw for me was the 1.0 crop factor, and the newly designed electronics that have USB 3.0. It feels exactly like the previous H bodies, but the back is totally new. The interface is smooth and silky like an iPhone. The images themselves - breathtaking clarity. There's something about a photo taken on a sensor this large that can't be duplicated by other systems. So far the results out of the camera into Phocus have been tremendous - definitely better than the H5D-50c. I would honestly rate it 5 stars, but I had major issues out of the box with the firmware. The system kept crashing, and I spoke with Hasselblad. The H6D is shipping with a version of the firmware that isn't yet public on their website (1.12.2), and it just ... I downgraded to the published version of 1.12.1 and it's been smooth sailing since. But they get dinged for sending me a camera that costs more than a BMW that had wiggy firmware.

Coming from a full frame phase back to this is actually a little mind blowing. The HNCS is not something to sleep on. There is a clear reason Hasselblad is being used for color repo by the likes of the Met, Guggenheim, etc. I almost want to give it 4 stars because of phocus but honestly I just can't. This camera deserves 5. This is the first camera that I do not need to spend endless hours in post fixing color. I pray Hasselblad continues to support this camera.

As far as studio cameras go, this camera is in a totally different league. Picture quality is outstanding. That is what it is designed for, and that is what it does better than other cameras I have used - from picture quality and ease of handling.I have (and have used) Leaf backs for Hasselblad-V and Leaf Afi (Rolleiflex HY6) cameras and Hasselblad H4d-60. I have not used the current generation Phase One cameras and backs so I cannot compare it to them.I generally use it in live view composing and focusing looking through the back. Pretty much the way I shot studio work back in the 60's with 4x5 and 8x10.I wish the LCD on the back titled (although you can always tether it for viewing and capturing - I generally don't bother).Live view goes thru batteries ... For long sessions I use the AC power supply from the H4D-60.I have used almost all of their lenses and have no complaints.(I did have an iris problem on a 100mm lens I originally bought used, and it required a whole shutter replacement -$1800, but it is now basically a new lens). The autofocus is slow and deliberate - it is not suited for action shooting unless your focus point is in the center of the frame. I use it with the focus assigned to a back button so I can focus and compose separately. In the studio I generally use live view and focus manually. It is NOT a camera that can do anything (why would you want to use this for video?) - but it does take pictures of a quality that is stunning.(I bough mine used from a landscape photographer who was moving on to other things).

I bought my first H6D-100c new back in 2018. The whole photography experience was simply superb. It puts so much joy into photography with images quality that I feel was even better than the Phase one (for reference, I had the opportunity to shoot with the IQ4-150) Since then DJI took over and produced the X series, and I shot with them all too, but IQ and user experience was definitely less with the X series so I bought a second H6D-100c. They may no longer be for sale new, keep your eye on the used sales! If you are passionate about photography, image quality and printing your work, then the H6D-100c is the camera that nothing has come close to since 2017.
The video recording is useless on this camera because it's not autofocus, so when you move around you have to manually constantly focus by hand ; good luck!!! and it's not automatically focus because HASSELBLAD has no experience in autofocus. Also video has no mic so you need to buy a mic and constantly leave it plugged in case you are expecting to do a video unprepared depending of what's happening around you, so it's very cumbersome and unpractical. Also video doesn't work like a regular video it take pictures 24 fps and make a video out of it.Now last and as problematic as the auto focus inexistant, there are videos online showing that with a lens as close to what film should be, the video looks deformed not looking like a film camera at all.And the price ... How could this happen you wonder????Well the lenses are so big and not properly designed that you hear the motors struggling to go forward and backward rapidly which rapidly is a joke here, so it's slow very slow and when you focus on your subject in the midst of a photo shoot I manage to have the lens not finding the proper focus area and later on realized that the shot was blurry OoooH Nooooo.I never experienced a camera that was giving me blurs in the circumstances that this camera gave me blurs ; absolutely unbelievable, and it happened in many different occasions...There are 100M pixel cameras out there that are a quarter the price and don't have these issues.
