I bought this for my 93 yo father who's used pressure cookers all his life. He's found the lid operation difficult to get used to, compared with the type that normally shuts from top / outside in. With this one you need to get the lud inside the cooker, and seal it upwards. I can manage it but it's a bit tricky for the older folk. Apart from that it's a great compact effective cooker.

Great pressure cooker, easy to use, clean and I like the speed that stews etc cooks. I've got hte 2 litre version which is ideal for 2 people, it knocks out 2 days worth of meat/veg stew easily and saves on power use.

I took a chance & bought one myself. I've not used it for motorcycle camping as of yet, (purchased in Feruary 2019), but I have experimented with a few dishes at home. I can't believe how quickly it cooks food!! I plan on taking this cooker on a two-week motorcycle trip to Canada. As of right now, I love it & I plan to take it on all my motorcyle camping trips. I can't believe how easy it is to prepare awsome meals in it. No more canned meals while camping!! Life's too short to be eating cold beanie-weenies out of a can.....Also, cleanup is a breeze. After 40 years of using Hawkins pressure cookers 2 years ago when the handle of mine came apart I could not source parts or a new cooker and unhappily bought another brand from a major retail outlet. I loathed it from day one and in months needed a new valve for it, not easily sourced. It died recently and I was happy to throw it out, was rubbish. Upon looking online again I found Hawkins now available and promptly bought the 2L size as only cooking for 2. Such a relief to have a Hawkins again and the tiny 2L easy and perfect for vegetables but I aim to buy a larger size eventually so I can cook bigger quantities and other meals etc.,
Cuts cook time in thirds.chicken, frozen to plate in 15 minutes. Beans, less than 30 minutes from dry. Potatoes in 10. Soups in 5 minutes. Pork in as little as 10...you're going to save fuel and time. The small 1.5 is perfect for camping. You can use this thing to purify water. Distill water, alcohol, etc. Maybe use to power a micro steam turbine...without the o ring, bake? endless possibilities....
Installed fairly easily in short amount of time. Has worked perfectly for over 1 yr. This part is known for failure due to moisture intrusion and may even qualify for free from Toyota. I had my entire secondary air injection system replaced free one time from Toyota on a 10 yr old truck due to the high volume of issues with this system but you must ask them. It was never actually recalled. This time I jus decided to do it myself considering the truck is has close to 200k mi. (2007 Tundra sr5 2dr 4.0)
Although a little complicated to figure out which part number to order I took a chance and ordered what I thought was the right part - it was! Part was OEM and shipped as promised. Actually came a little early. No problems with fitting or install. Pricing was 55% less than what local dealers were asking. Overall very impressed with ordering, shipping and actual part! Very small but the size I wanted. It is very annoying when the pressure goes on because it makes a pulsing very loud sound. I would not recommend because of the weird noise. I have used pressure cooker all my life. This is not normal noise.
The pressure cooker worked perfectly. The only problem was closing and opening the cover. The trick is the opening and the cover are oval shaped and you have to align them to open or close. Also it helps if the pot is level as sitting on a table or the cooking range. I used it for cooking my oatmeal which cut down my cooking time for boiling old fashioned oat meal. Then was difficult to clean.
