The positive thing is the look and that all basket sizes with the new design are stackable and you can attach castors. And there are so many beautiful colors.On the negative side, I have noticed that the baskets are smaller with the new design and can therefore no longer be used for their previous purpose (storing art supplies). They also feel more wobbly.The new metal cover (sold separately) is a good idea, but seems a bit overpriced to me.

Completely Different Size

I used to love this company but the quality has gone down significantly. I bought a large crate in 2021 and it is significantly larger than the “large” crate I received today. The crate I received today is more like medium and it’s not even the medium size. I’m literally appalled. Is this inflation?? I wish I could attach a picture

Great for organizing big shelves

Got these for my nursery and to transition to toy and clothes organizers when he's bigger. I really like the premixed color options. Medium size is great for blankets, swaddles, and nursing supplies, while the small is perfect for onesies and all the other baby stuff you end up getting.

Made in China- Flimsy and feel unsubstantial. Half arrived w/ broken corners. Not as sturdy as you might expect

I ordered roughly 20 crates directly from Hay. Took 2 weeks for fulfillment and arrival. Half the crates i received came with damaged/broken corners.Crates are manufactured in China and the plastic is flimsy and thin in the sidewalls. Since the crates are collapsible they can rack and twist (imagine cracking an ice tray and that is the stressed weak point described) when you put any sort of heavy items in them. I believed they were going to be better quality since DWR/HM carry them and they had the Euro designed stamp.... mistaken.If you are only going to be putting socks, a couple sweaters, or pencils in them.... they can work. We find tightly grouped colours work best, preferably two smalls anchored around a medium.A medium with two smalls works very well on a 30cm height bookshelf - pair with some old-fashioned pressed Dymo labels for an organised splash of colour. The larger ones have been great for storing household items, however they are not strong enough to be loaded with, for example, food tins, unless supported by a dolly or shelf beneath - they are useful and well made, but they are not heavy duty storage. Soft plastic, not sturdy.

Crates are cute, but not practical. They are not very sturdy. I had them hiding my wifi router/modem - the heat from that alone warped the plastic. The plastic material of the crates is very soft and malleable.I am still using the crates, but they are now just for pantry or desk accessories which is a little sad because I wanted to use them for multi-media purposes as they are so cute and I loved the colors.For the cost, I would not recommend or repurchase.

I know these are the newer crates because HAY wanted to use 100% recycled plastic, but the way these crates are packaged for shipment (ONE CRATE PER BOX) is extremely disappointing and makes no sense:( It's also inconvenient because you have to track every single basket and make sure they all come. Some of the colors are also extremely off from the photos. The Golden Yellow and Blush are pretty off. I know you guys say that the colors may vary since it's recycled plastic, but at least post accurate photos on your website please. The Golden Yellow is not Yellow at all, it's an extremely desaturated yellow and looks pretty beige/brown:/ The Blush is also incredibly desaturated compared to the photo where it's a perfect baby pink. The colors however were great, the Electric Blue, Red, Lavender, and Mint were cute.

The disclaimer that these crates do not fit with the original model is literally at the very bottom of the page. This should be up at the top. I was disappointed to find that the medium was smaller than previous mediums. The smalls no longer nest. Additionally the smalls look like the same size as the original but still don't stack with the original. I get that the product has changed but I would've appreciated more outright transparency.
