Hayman's London Dry Gin is a classic gin distilled with an old family recipe that includes a blend of ten botanicals. The botanicals are left to soak for a full day before distillation, to allow all the flavours to be released in the alcohol. The careful and constant balance of juniper, coriander, lemon and orange rind is vital in the creation of this traditional London Dry Gin.The distillery is located 40 miles east of London. It uses a traditional, 450 litre copper still that was handcrafted by the Carl family company, which has been making stills since 1869. The copper still is called "Marjorie" after the mother of Christopher, the current president of Hayman's. She was also the granddaughter of James Burrough, who was the creator of Beefeater gin. She was the one to introduce Christopher to the family business and to the world of gin. Marjorie died when Christopher was young, which is why he chose to name the still after her.

I took this on a girls night and it made the perfect gin cocktail. Then we all had it as just a stand gin and mixer. I paired it with fever free Indian tonic, we all agreed it did had a nice flavour. The two non gin drinkers had it with ginger beer and enjoyed it, so success!! We all agreed a good standard gin and would buy again!!!

I was sent this product by Ocado in exchange for a review. By no means do I purport to be a gin connoisseur BUT I do like drinking it! I?ve tried a fair few and this one is LOVELY. I was intrigued enough to visit the Hayman?s website, which describes this as a ?fresh crisp elegant gin with refreshing notes from juniper, subtle exotic spice and a lively citrus finish?, I find I totally agree! You can really identify all the different layers of this lovely gin - absolutely superb, especially on a warm, sunny day.

I was sent a bottle of this to review and being a gin lover was delighted. I am fussy however and particularly love a botanical london style gin. This did not disappoint. It is full of a myriad of botanical flavours, yet strong and still 'ginny'. Utterly delicious. I will definitely buy this again once it's run out to keep alongside my regular gins (Botanist, Silent Pool, Herno, Caorunn, One...to name but a few regular favourites...)

I?m reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado.? I am not a big drinker usually 2-3 gins a week. I do, however, collect different gins and have attended gin talks on its history and attended a few gin tastings where you taste up to 6 different gins. This gin for me is one of the best I have tasted. It doesn?t have any rough edges and the botanics are just right. Will definitely be buying again especially now it is on special offer.
A strong Gin with a sharp kick at the end. I don?t like it with tonic but it mixes well with orange juice. Perhaps the citrus components of this Gin complement the orange taste to make this simple cocktail delicious. Garnished with a twist of orange peel or a sprig of orange flowers gives this drink a happy sunny look and the taste of summer. I really like it.
In my tireless and selfless mission to sample every premium gin on special offer, this one turned out to be by far the best. Basically its insanely good. Clean, crips and complex with a powerful kick. It makes a brilliant G&T, and the bottle even turns up rather beautifully wrapped as well. The only downside: it is on the pricy side for something that goes down alarmingly quickly.
I'm reviewing this product because I got a free sample from ocado. What I loved about this gin was it had a very natural taste of refreshing citrus and honey peaches that takes your imagination away somewhere sunny, warm and gorgeous reminds me of necture fruit trees wafting through my nan's garden in summer perfect for a summer bbq with cocktails. So will be purchasing more.
If you've had the unpleasant experience of a chemical tasting gin, or dislike the crisp, nearly astringent punch of juniper with your first sip of a London dry, I suggest you try Hayman's Old Tom Gin. A bit sweeter than a London dry, old tom fits happily into a Tom Collins, or any other citrus forward cocktail. The botanicals are perfectly balanced, not overpowering. Give it a try. I really do think you'll enjoy it.
I am reviewing this as it was given as a free sample. Lovely shaped bottle with attractive wooden stopper. Smooth tasting classic gin with no overpowering botanicals. Perfect for someone who is looking for a Light easy drink with no gimmicks. Would buy in the future.
This was a substitute for Waitrose own brand at ?16.35, this cost ?26! Ok I was prepared to try it as I do like other premium gins. Have to say both myself and hubby werent that impressed. Both found it a little sweet for or taste. Give me Masons Yorkshire gin any time!! There are also others that suit us better - guess its down to personal taste. Feel a little let down having paid so much more for this.
