I have not seen a pedal that does it all like this since the Digitech GNX4. I have owned the helix then the whole Katana line until trying Headrush MX5. Their tones are the most realistic. I've been waiting for a company to get it right and they did. Just enough solid presets to introduce you to it's capabilities and be inspired to create your own. The pedals and amps react really close to the way the real ones do if you were to compare the analog chain to Headrushes virtual signal chain. You can plug your guitar in, bass, or microphone and it has you covered with all the options for bass, guitar, and vocals. The Prime even has Antares vocal processor built in for auto tune. There is a vocoder and many other features and FX for the vocals.This unit is rather large and heavy but well built and should hold up to live performances. With this price I think the competition will have to prepare for a disruption. This might even force a new Helix to emerge.

I bought this to reduce the amount of gear I take to a gig. Currently a Kemper Stage and a TC Helicon Voicelive for vocal effects. The Prime seemed like the solution. The guitar sounds and effects sound great. I cloned my Marshall DSL 50 watt head and it's pretty close. There's enough effects power to do what I need. The vocal side of the unit needed a bit more tweaking. The reverbs are really thick when you apply them to the vocal signal. I ended up with only using a mix of about 3% and that is plenty. Same with the delays when used with the vocals. The harmonies sound on par with the TC as long as you mix them correctly. (Same as with the TC). Overall I think it will work out fine. Once you get used to the UI it's very intuitive. I was finding tones I wanted very quickly right out of the box.There are minor cons. The Revalver amps actually sound amazing , but are very dsp-heavy. The stock cabs are meh but the included IR's are great.Pros: it's a modern modeler that to me, sounds nearly as good as fractal/QC, and better than the helix. The helix is a bit more flexible with routing but the tone of the Prime is better to my ears. Especially high gain. Edge of breakup tones are spot on as well.Seems sturdy. Overall I would say it's priced just right. seeing how their 6 year old units are still being updated, I am hopeful headrush will do the same for the prime for some years.
