Heinz Chicken Soup is another classic from the Heinz range of tinned soups. Made using a well-honed recipe, it is perfect for warming yourself up on a chilly winter’s day – particularly with a crusty roll on the side. Simply add to a saucepan and stir, and in a few minutes you’ll have a delicious, piping hot snack. The tin comes with a ring pull for easy opening. This 400g tin can feed two people, although you might choose keep it all to yourself!

Reasonably thick, so its good as a soup, as you can always thin it if wished, by adding a little milk. Its also good to use as a the base of a creamy sauce e.g. when making the filling for a chicken and mushroom pie.Its probably the best reasonablypriced soup available as own brands are cheaper but tend to be runnier. Dont forget to get the most from the tin by adding a little milk or water to the empty tin and swirling it about to dislodge the bits still inside, then add it to your soupsauce.

I havent had this for years and bought it on a whim as it was on offer. I microwaved it and added a dash of cream, and it was really nice. Has the recipe changed over the years I think it tastes better than it used to less sweet and more tomatoey. I agree with the reviews saying its great comfort food, and Ill be buying again.

I was sent this free to review. It was years since I?d had this so gave it a go. Wish I hadn?t! The ingredients give it away ? 3% chicken, yes THREE per cent. Shouldn?t it be called Cream of Vaguely Chicken Soup? It does contain a scattering of minute atoms of chicken but the rest is bland gloop and there isn?t even any appetising aroma while it?s heating up.

I absolutely love this soup and have been eating it for 40 years. I agree that there is minimal chicken in it and that's not changed from the very beginning, however I feel that at nearly £1 a tin, there should be some more CHICKEN in it. As for a comment "its SOUP, not chicken in sauce!" Is ridiculous. 3% in a wee tin for that price? Come off it heinz, make it value for money! Tried the own brand stuff and it's not too bad, but it's not Heinz tasty.

ah now if you want a cuddle in a can, this is the soup for you. Soothing, full of flavour and just enough chicken bits to make it a soup not a mini stew, this soup really calms the jangled nerves and just gives you that 'aaaaaah' moment. Nice with fresh crusty bread and, if you like a bit of 'pep' then a sprinkling of pepper does not go amiss.
