I don't normally write reviews. I'm the kind of person that believes you should get what you have paid for. In this case I paid for two 64oz. jars of Hellmann's mayonnaise. Hellmann's is hands down my favorite mayonnaise, this is not the issue. The problem is with how the mayonnaise is packed and shipped. The last three times I've ordered online (because my local club is out of stock... still) and each time, upon receipt of the three separate shipments, the jars have arrived with broken lids/ broken lids and leaking jars, or a complete mayonnaise explosion. Hellmann's was a staple in our family for 4 generations. The recipe keeps changing for the worse. It now tastes rancid and smells stale. I come from a family of 8, we had very little and couldn't afford name brands, our brands were white boxes with black lettering, my mom even used to stretch out milk by cutting it with powdered milk. But we never compromised on mayonnaise, Hellmann's was like the ten commandments of mayo. I don't use mayo anymore and it saddens me, I used to love it, loved it so much, I would use it like dip. This is one thing that unfortunately will not be passed down to the next generation.

Since I moved to Arizona, I have not been able to find Hellmann's Mayonnaise. When I discovered on the label that the product is called Best Foods west of the Rockies and Hellmann's east of the Rockies, I wasn't that upset. But when I saw that I can purchase Hellmann's on the Sam's Club website, I was overjoyed. Even though it's the same product, I was so happy to finally get Hellmann's Mayonnaise in my Arizona refrigerator. It makes me feel like I'm back home. It's a warm feeling to have. I know this sounds crazy but when you move away from the place where you were born and raised, it makes a big difference. Thanks to Sam's Club, I was able to get it.
The product has it's usual great taste. But here is an unaddressed issue. It is only available in this size and the reasonable price to those who have the Plus membership. It is not on the shelf at my closest store. The alternatives are considerably more in cost at most other stores. So, one either has to have a Plus membership or 1) pay shipping or 2) shop elsewhere. I mention this as this situation is not limited to this product alone. There have been more the "several" similar issues where the product in the money saving size, has been removed from the shelves of the local store, but remain available to Plus members.
It's a terrible thing that a great company like Unilever puts such dangerous ingredients in it's products for human consumption.Canola oil is derived from the rapeseed plant. Yes, that is correct. Rapeseed.This type of oil used to be used for industrial manufacturing, until a Canadian food processing company genetically modified it to be "safe for human consumption."In reality, they conducted no significant long-term studies on this oil.
