Fantastic waterproof, windproof, breathable jacket. This jacket has a much better fit than any I have owned. It has a generous fit in the upper body and slimmer fit around the waist, so no excessive material to make it look baggy. Great quality with YKK front zip and pockets. Draw cord adjustable hood and hem. Ideal jacket for any season. Highly recommend this item.

Nice jacket. I ordered black but what showed up was ebony. I was wondering what the difference was when I was ordering so when it showed up, I realized it is black with a blue-ish tinge to it. This jacket also has a mesh lining which I didn’t realize when I ordered it. It should last a couple of years in the PNW.

I'm very pleased with the quality and fit of this jacket. It has so far worked well in the rain. Fit and quality are greatlI only have two minor complaints:One is that the color "Aluminum" is better described as khaki. I was hoping for more of a grey color. It's still a good looking jacket, though. The other is that is that it lacks a drawstring on the rear of the hood to contract the sides and allow you to suck the hood down tight to your head similar to designs like The North Face. The open hood limits visibility and a drawstring on the back of the hood would dramatically improve it.

I really love Helly gear. As an offshore sailor, Helly Hansen is my go to for warm and cold weather fowlies, and this on-shore rain gear is all i hoped it would be. My only complaint is that where HH gear comes with Limited Lifetime Warranty, REI wont recognize warranty on products purchased through them beyond their 1 year return policy. I purchased a HH Odin rain coat that had a pocket seal fail, and REI wouldnt accept the warranty replacement when i brought the product back 2 years after purchase. Fortunately, HH web site was able to process the issue, and send a replacement, but i probably wont buy HH gear from REI in the future.
Helly makes amazing products. I love this jacket. It’s well made and looks great. I would say that it is not as lightweight as some other top layer coats and could use zippered vents under the arms, as many trekking/outdoor top layers have. Additionally, the hood collar isn’t fully lined. It just has a little patch at the mouth. I have a competitor top layer jacket that the collar and pockets are lined and the underarms have vents. It’s also lighter so packing when stripping layers is much better.Lastly, I am 6,2 not a large man but tall. I’ve tried the large and cal. The Xtra large is pretty big, great for winter layers but the sleeves are very long whereas the large the sleeves fit perfectly but the torso is trim and a little short. So it runs small and it runs ... MoreHelly makes amazing products. I love this jacket. It’s well made and looks great. Helly makes wonderful rain jackets. I live in the pacific northwet as we say and it is perfect for the winters here. I wear a wool shirt, a fleece, and this jacket and am very comfortably equipped for walking about town. It is helly-tech which means breathable and waterproof. And the mesh lining inside keeps the fabric from my skin and adds just a bit more insulation. The only drawback is that Helly uses a cheap zipper which jams all the time. That is vexing as if I am not extremely careful it will jam and take 5 minutes to unjam. Apart from that it is perfect. I adore the color.
Been looking for a good quality raincoat for a while. Usual stick to Berghaus however I find their fits are very off these days. Gave this Helly Hansen jacket a go and the fit was perfect, it feels really nice quality. Not too thin either! Recommended!
Purchase this jacket for my 14yo son. Fits perfectly, looks great on him. I bought the grey one and the color is fabulous. He wears it with a hoodie under and feels great with the actual weather (8-15 C°). The waterproof needs to be tested but it's promising.
I had a Helly Hansen shell jacket for fifteen years. It was the best, it never failed. Then during a move, it was lost. I was given another company's jacket, but 8t was not good enough. I live in Seattle where some form of precipitation occurs much of the year. Often, the weather's not so cold but always wet. As soon as this arrived, we had a hevier-than-usual rain and I put it to the test. I stayed dry, with the hood. This is better than my old Helly. Velcro (or some generic version) tape at the wrist. One velcro-closed inside pocket on the right. Two zippered slash pockets on the outside. It's just like I remembered, only better. I liked it so well I bought a vest and a down jacket too.
