I fell in love with this stand before I had even unfolded it. It is lightweight, yet sturdy and stylish. It's really easy to unfold and re-fold, and it safely holds a variety of guitar shapes, especially odd shaped guitars (Flying V, Explorer, Starcaster, etc). I can easily move a guitar on this stand with one hand without fear of it falling off. With the convenience of just grabbing the guitar neck and lifting to unlock the clasp, I can't even imagine ever going back to basic tubular stands. If you plan to travel, keep the original Hercules box - the folded stand fits nicely inside, and the box will protect it.

I started working from home during the Covid pandemic, and I started using using my computer for guitar instruction.When I would get from my desk I would lean my guitar against my desk or the couch; very unsafe as a couple of times my feet would get tangled around the guitar cord, etc.I finally decided to purchase a stand, and the Hercules stand has saved me from worrying about accidentally having my guitar fall over as I can put I can put it in and take it out easily.After deciding to purchase the stand I was amazed at how quickly it arrived.Also, it is portable, or it can be conveniently stored when not in use.

This is the best guitar stand ever. It's tough and sturdy but gentle to your precious guitar. It is a it pricey but you are paying for quality. It is the same one used by most professionals and stages I've played in. I got the newer model were you can fold the grip so it takes up less space when puting away and I think that's pretty neat. I've bought lots of cheaper guitar stands before and they never seem to last long enough. I don't see that happening with this stand any time soon. Why risk it with a lower grade guitar stand, especially when it is in charge of taking care of your baby. If you're thinking about it, I will say it is worth the investment

An effective guitar stand (so far)

I dislike writing a review of a product based on a very limited usage duration. There are no guarantees that such a review will still reflect the buyer's opinion of the product after a reasonable service life. For a guitar stand I would prefer to read a review after it has been used for at least two or three years. However, that said, after using this stand for daily practice and for weekly performance for a couple of months since purchase, I am very happy with the product. Unlike all of my previous guitar stands, this one is completely self-contained; that is, I do not have to connect two or three components like I must with all of my previous guitar stands. The stand is also very stable and reasonably solid. However, I will not be convinced of the durability of the plastic height-adjusting trigger or the plastic tightening screw for the tripod legs until the stand has survived for several years. In fact, I am currently not folding it up to transport it because that may increase the probability of wear and tear on the plastic components. Fortunately I am playing my acoustic/electricguitar through a DI box and a house PA system so with no amp to carry there is plenty of room for the non-folded up guitar stand in my car. If the stand was completely built of metal then I would give it 5 stars. (My oldest guitar stand, all chrome-plated metal except for plastic cushioning for the guitar, has survived the rigors of over 40 years of semi-professional use. However, I doubt that we will ever see that sort of manufacturing again. The company that built it would have gone out of business for lack of return customers!)

Best Stand for odd shaped guitars- Moderne

I recently purchased an Epiphone Moderne, a guitar that defies most stands made. I tried a " Fender Universal Stand" at a moderate price point and it was a disaster from opening the box..it is reviewed separately. I would not trust it anywhere but in a corner. This stand has all the necessary features to safely hold the Moderne on stage.. the weird offset on the back end of the guitar is difficult to accomodate, but this stand without a base, allows the tails to rest against a properly padded support. It holds the weight well, is easy to adjust and set up at gigs and is the best I could hope for. Best guitar stand I have found. Portable, lightweight, and very sturdy.

This is an awesome guitar stand ! I have tried several stands over the years of every style and design there is and none of them hold a candle to this one from Hercules. High quality materials, excellent design, and very innovated grasping mechanism that holds the guitar securely and safely when you put the weight of the guitar on it. As you lower the guitar into the cradle the weight of the guitar automatically moves the two retaining clasps in place so it can't slip out. There are foam cushions wherever the guitar touches the stand. The height is also adjustable to accommodate any size guitar. Well worth the money, and will be my go-to stand from no on.

Best stand you can buy

Have this tripod stand - liked so much I bought the one for hanging on wall. Only issue I have with this stand is the yoke is slightly out of alignment with the two front legs where the lower bout of the guitar is suppose to rest. By 1/2" So guitar is slightly out of kilter on the bottom, although the neck/headstock is secure.

Good but less portable

The stand is stable and holds instruments well. With the NINA adaptation it can support a banjo without tuning pegs resting on the headstock holder. It isn't as compact and portable as others, without disassembling, so it won't go to live performances as hoped, thus the 3-star rating.

Sturdy stand, packs up well!

I use this for keeping my bass secure on gigs. It is studier than any other stand I have found so far, and it uses metal for the pressure point where the stand legs come together, I was concerned about the fact that a high proportion of users found the gripper that allows you to adjust the height of the neck brace portion would leak goo,. Also that it would slip. I wrote to Hercules and asked about that problem. They told me it was a problem at the factory and that it had been fixed. So far, I've had not problem, and I bought two of these, One with a collapsible neck and one without. The collapsible neck one lies flat and I can put it in a large tub for transportation to gigs. I like how this stand looks and how it holds my guitars. I like that my guitar is hanging by the neck and the weight of the guitar moves some gates to close, securing the guitar. The stand leans just a little towards the rear and that is a good thing. Have you ever caught your foot on a guitar cord accidentally and almost drug your guitar off a stand? With this model, that's almost impossible to happen because the guitar is secured at the top. There may still be a few reviews out there complaining about the plastic getting sticky and the adjustment lever breaking, but maybe not. My first one did that and the company replaced it quickly without question.
