I've used a variety of trombone stands and I find this one is the most stable and secure of them all. The only drawback to this stand is it is not the easiest to transport but is worth the added trouble. One of the key features of this stand is its ability to vary the width of the receiver that holds the slide braces. It was stiff to operate at first but after the first few times loosened up considerably. I have several horns, some with wide slides and some with narrow slides, this feature makes each of them stable with this stand. I also use the Neotech brace and the stands allows it to be used without a problem.

A very good way of holding trombones. It works well equally for my symphonic tenor and my sackbut. It looks good and seems well made. However it is heavy and bulky when folded up and I will not always take it on gigs.

Hercules stands are great. I play trumpet, flugelhorn and trombone so I have several. This stand is adjustable for just about any size horn. This stand is especially good when I use my clip-on mic on the bell. With the normal stand I have to keep moving the mic to set the horn on the stand. This stand eliminates that problem. Plus, it's road worthy.

I originally purchased a Hercules stand that rested the trombone under the bell. However, the company I made the purchase through kept sending a saxophone stand. I gave up and looked elsewhere, which is when I found this model. I am glad the other was messed up or I wouldn't have known about this! The design is much better and the stand is heavy duty. This is not my first Hercules stand and all the others are just as sturdy. You won't be disappointed with this brand!
Simply the best out there, but not perfect. I bought this stand for my Rath R2 Trombone and found the stand better suited for larger tenor trombones. That said, I must say this stand is the best out there when it comes to ruggedness, sturdiness and style. I would like to recommend to the manufacturer that some foam padding could be attached over two of the three legs where the slide could make contact when grabbing the horn from the stand. Other than that, this stand is head and shoulders above any other other trombone stand out there today.
This stand is not for all occasions, it is not for portable use as it is large and quite heavy. It is for "fixed" situations such as home/studio or stage where it is left in place for a longer period. Its "folded" size is also large and difficult for both storage and transportation. The way it hangs the instrument can be somewhat awkward and need two hands to install instrument. Its advantages are that you can leave a mute installed in the bell and that it is very sturdy. Another plus is that I can use it with either my slide trombone or my valve trombone. I am pleased and use it often but am thinking of getting a smaller "bell" type stand for portable use but cannot really justify two stands.
If you practice with a mute, such as a Yamaha electronic mute, then you need this stand. Together the tenor trombone and the Yamaha mute are heavy, and the mute gives the horn a forward weight that strains muscles, especially in a 90 minute practice session. To take the mute out so that you can place the bell on a traditional bell stand to every time there is a need to rest or to set the horn down to arrange musical scores makes no sense. That's where the Hercules Stand is the perfect solution. The horn can be placed securely on the stand without removing the mute. The stand is attractive and stable. The stand is just as useful when not using a mute. I think other trombonists will like it also.
Just handling this stand really makes me nervous because of how light weight it feels. I play a Shires and I wanted a stand to put my investment on in my home. I have two kittens so I needed something sturdy to keep them from knocking it over. Unfortunately, I have to keep my trombone out of my practice room and locked in a closet because I have 0 confidence this stand is bottom heavy enough to stay upright in the face of minor disturbances.
Ideal stand with the introduction of moisture guards. Trombone can also go on stand with mute in place. Different approach means less chance of denting the bell. Slight drawback with it being a little more awkward to mount and dismount. You need to adjust your hold from the playing position.
I love this stand! it's absolutely great! The only flaw i find in it is actually what sets it apart from other trombone stands. I find placing the trombone and taking it off the stand rather obscure and aggravating. The hand slide area is a little tight to fit around, so it is an learning adjustment to use. I do really like the build quality and the ruggedness of this stand. I have owned mine for two years now, and still use it to this day.
