Well, it's cheap . Sort of. But my guitars slide forward on the foam sometimes ... didn't have that problem with my K&M version. It could benefit from a rubberised pad to prevent the guitar sliding forward... which may result in the headstock hitting a wall if the stand is placed back to one.

I love this stand. The photos made it look a little flimsy, but it's not. This thing is heavy grade steel and very sturdy--not floppy at all. I've owned all kinds of stands over the years and this is my favorite. Somebody put a lot of thought into the collapsible design, 'cause it really does get small--I can fold it and fit it into the outer pocket of my acoustic gig bag. I have one quibble: because the back support is so short, instead of the guitar standing more-or-less straight up, like with other stands, here it leans backward at about a 30-degree angle. If you're used to putting your guitars on stands against the wall, you'll need some extra space: I had to set the Hercules amost two feet from my bedroom baseboard, out toward the middle of the room. This would probably not be a problem onstage; it's just something to keep in mind if you're planning on using this stand at home. By the way, I liked this stand so much that I bought another--the "folk instrument" size--for my mandolin.I have to revise what I said in my earlier review about the guitar leaning so far back. I was using the stand for my OM-size Alverez, and because the body is smaller than a dreadnought, the guitar slides forward on the stand and therefore leans backwards at about 30 degrees. When I used the stand with my larger, dreadnought-sized Alverez, the guitar stood mostly upright, same as in other guitar stands. Obvously this stand was designed for larger dreadnought sized-guitars (not smaller bodies) --but with that one caveat, this is a fantastic piece of gear. Five stars!

I would NOT buy this product again.

This stand looks sturdy. Reviews are generally good. I find it totally inappropriate for a good quality guitar of value. It cannot be trusted. WAY too easy to get knocked over. I would have returned it were it not for their draconian return rules. I found a very sturdy stand locally (brick and mortar store) for HALF the price.

This stand is perfect for home.... With three kids running around, one can never be too careful. This stand is sturdy and holds my acoustic and electric securely. It's small, light, and folds for easy transport.I'm buying a second one!

Small, good for travel and for small hands.

Taylor has made a good sounding little guitar with this model. The strings may be little heavy for some though. The tone is typical Taylor and has a lot of volume. The one I got needs professional set up though because the 3rd string just isn't right and its annoying me. So I will have Cargill check it out.

Stand for acoustic guitar
31 March 2022

Well made as expected (my 2nd Hercules stand). Small and neat design. I wanted a stand that would hold the guitar in its gig bag as well as just the guitar on its own. This it does.I would have preferred the height at the back (hinge side) to have been say 50mm higher and the front hooks maybe 10mm longer but it does the job ok as it is. Reasonable price.

The very best guitar stand
17 March 2021

Over many years of playing professionally I've had to use a lot of instrument stands. I must say that I have never used anything like the Hercules guitar stand. Don't let the small size fool you. This thing is built like a tank. It is extremely solid and very well balanced. The grip and balance is so good, I use it for my banjo. Before I purchased my Hercules stand I always had to place mt instrument back in the case during breaks. Now, I fully trust the Hercules guitar stand to securely hold my $3000 instrument. I highly recommend, if you play a stringed instrument, that you use no other stand than the Hercules. Strong, holds instrument securely, easy to travel with. There just isn't a better stand than the Hercules TravLite. R.D. Roden "banjo player "The Bluegrass ... MoreOver many years of playing professionally I've had to use a lot of instrument stands. Wouldn't use any other brand of guitar stands!

Hercules makes some of the best, affordable guitar stands around. I also own the electric guitar version of this stand and their 5 guitar rack, both are absolutely great. I use them in my home studio, and most of my guitars (including some with a nitrocellulose lacquer finishes) spend almost all of their time out of the case and on these stands, especially in the rack. When I first started using them, I was careful to check on a frequent basis for any finish damage possibly developing. I'd never buy a stand that uses neoprene rubber tubing, because damage is a certainty if you leave guitars on them for extended periods of time. I've yet to see any issues of that sort using Hercules guitar stands. After reading some reviews here, I'm not sure why some folks seem to experience finish damage. I've read there are slightly different types of nitrocellulose lacquer finishes, so maybe that's it. My advice would be to do as I did, simply keep a close eye on things when you first begin to use them.If you're a gigging musician, I think you'll find the nicest feature of these stands is that they fold up flat. I can fit them into my gig bags and most cases with no problem. That's obviously very convenient.

You Can't Go Wrong With Hercules
26 December 2017

Best portable guitar stand available. Strong, stable, solid as a rock. In fact, the acoustic stands are so strong that they can also be used as speaker stands. That's right, speaker stands. I saw off the front upward part in the front of the frame, leaving a smooth amp stand platform, with just the right angle of tilt. You can't go wrong with the Hercules A-frame guitar stands -- acoustic or electric.
